  I'm having trouble mapping a group LDAP to the role of the Complutense University of MADRID.
  Let me explain the situation.
  
  I have an external LDAP (Apache DS) with two groups (groupofuniquenames), 'Administrators' and 'Test' and two users 'ldap_admin' and 'ldap_user '. ldap_admin is a uniqueMember administrators and the ldap_test a test uniqueMember.
  
  At the University Complutense of MADRID, I created a custom role 'Test' with privileges "RWD" group 'Public '.
  
  I guess that the external LDAP has been configured successfully as an LDAP authenticator provider - myrealm settings tab, since I can see groups and external LDAP users, and they can connect the DCU with their user id and password.
  
  However, ldap_user is unable to perform the check, and on their profile page, the role is "invited, authenticated."
  And when I pass ldap_user in the test group to the Administrators group, the role is then "invited, authenticated, admin, sysmanager, refineryadmin, rmaadmin, pcmadmin, ermadmin.
  It seems that the Administrators group is mapped correctly, but not the group test.
  
  I try to apply the advice given in these two threads:

  I have created a 'externalLdapMap' identification card, completed the provider.hda file and put the map "Test, Test". I also tried with "Test, contributor" that I was not sure about the first mapping.

  I think that you have enabled the LDAP authenticator credits and that this error will go up.

  You must create an OpenLDAPAuthenticator and do the same settings with flag set up and then test the scenario.

  I have a table with the user name ldap and role. I also configured external LDAP server to the RPD. Users can connect to the portal.
  
  Can someone guide me, how to ensure that when the connection of the user to OBIEE automatically by the role table is retrieved and mapped with the application role created?
  
  Or, in simple terms,
  
  How can I assign an external ldap user to map to the application role? One by one? or Via the table as shown above?
  
  Can anyone help? All documents are not giving this simple image for me.
  
  It was easy in 10g, 11g is it rocket science so that my company can lose hope to go ahead with 11g?

  We have 3 servers separated running on 3 separate boxes, all 3 are on the same instance of Shared Services. We installed the ldap certificate in the area of shared service and 2 boxes remaining essbase have ldap certificate.

  We are not able to see any LDAP user in the Regional service console. But native users can connect to essbase servers.

  Authenticated LDAP users are unable to access Essbase. Please find below the error message

  "Error: 103: error unexpected Essbase 1051440" "."
  "Error: 1051440: Essbase user [] authentication fails on the server of Shared Services with error [EPMCSS-00301: unable to authenticate the user.]" Invalid credentials. Enter valid credentials].

  In addition, ldap users can connect to the workspace successfully, but they cannot access essbase to workspace. We have put in service

  ldap as Admins users, still no luck.

  I don't think it's possible to impliment the LDAP authentication both extenal together. The reasons are,
  1. we cannot define two sources (LDAP and Extenal DB) in the same blocks of justine initialization user information.
  2. If two different (one for LDAP) initialization blocks and one for extenal DB are used, we cannot use variable USER twice it's a defined system variable.

  I just stumbled on something that looks like a bug or a security problem for me:
  When you have an application at a point 'Load - before the header (header of page template)' this process is executed no matter if a user is logged on or past validates a session ID in the URL.
  
  
  Example:
  In my Application, I have an application process to download a file when a certain application is defined. I chose the application process to hide the url/location of the user files and make sure that this file can only be downloaded in an application context (thank you Dene for inspiration: [http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:15]). This works really well and did all the things I want to do.
  But then I tried to call my download URL (for example http://myhost:myport / mytest/pls/f? p = 1234:0:123123123123:DOWNLOAD_FILE:NO ::) from another computer without logging in.) I expected to get the login screen of my application and all my pages require authentication, but I got the file.
  
  To work around this problem, I put in condition of the pl/sql process ": APP_USER IS NOT NULL AND: ASK 'DOWNLOAD_FILE' = ', now it works as expected and shows the login page if the user is not authenticated or given to the session id is null/not valid."
  
  
  I am mistaken and that the process should not run? I put same authorization "must not be public user" who has been ignored as well.

  Peter and Dene,

  Thank you for this comment. I agree that this is a bug and we'll fix it. A solution you can set the attribute Public user of your application to PUBLIC_USER. As long as your FATHER connects as apex_public_user it shouldn't break anything.

• Wildcard to attribute LDAP - IPSEC not WebVPN

  I have installation using LDAP authentication and it works fine.

  I'm trying to limit to only users who are members of a security group (VPN users) to VPN in.

  I created a map to attribute LDAP (vpnmap) that checks if the user is a member of the required security group and if correct assigns a group policy (XXXvpntunnel).

  However, if a user is not a member of the group, the plan of ldap attribute does not affect Group Policy above it, but the user can always VPN in and when I do a check for group policy being used sh vpn-sessiondb remote detail, it shows me the same XXXvpntunnel used group policy.

  I created another group policy called XXXvpntunneldeny with ipsec sessions set to 0, but how can I assign this profile to group users who aren't a memberOf VPN users, so that they can not VPN in?

  I also tested by adding SamAccountname in the map of the attribute and the value "Administrator" and "xxxvpntunneldeny" group policy and it stops falling administrator in the via the VPN, but I want to be able to use a wildcard character to prevent all users not in the security VPN users group to connect through the VPN.

  Any suggestions on the best way to prevent users are not part of the VPN users group in AD to VPN in?

• Cannot use Authenticate in the configuration of the LDAP user

  I'm deploying VIO in my LAB. I have a problem setting up the authentication source during deployment. When I put my AD information and provide the openstack admin user / password, then click on "Configuration Test user", I get this error: failed to authenticate to vio_user ", which is my account service with the admin rights.

  Secure thanks to Tyler Muth on LDAP blog, I was able to get the authentication works with our SunOne LDAP using a custom authentication scheme. Apex does not natively support SSL authentication where you must use a binding secure LDAP with a domain name of service (which has its own userID and password) before you pass the user name, password of the real user.
  
  Now I'm recovering attributes on this authenticated user - like attributes that are in the LDAP directory, Department, title, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions - code examples would be great? I looked at the example in Pro Application Express book but what confuses me, is how to pass the user name that you have authentication to a function call to the 'dbms_ldap.search '. Authentication closes the LDAP session, once the user is authenticated. So now I'm in the application with this "APP_USER. I believe that I now have to do the following steps, but do not know how to accomplish:
  
  1.), I need to re - open an LDAP session (I guess I still need to re - link with LDAP using my service Dn and the password as the Auth service custom that was done right).

  As I understood the message, you have activated the external display output and can see the image on the TV.
  The question is; What resolution the TV taken in charge and which external output option selected?

  The point is that you can switch to the external display by choosing the option; Extended desktop, display clone or you can turn off the internal display and broadcast the image on the external monitor TV.

  In case you cloned display, two screens (internal + external) must use the same resolution! Where the TV would be favourable to a lower resolution, the internal laptop screen would reduce the resolution too!

  I recommend you read the user manual it provides some basic knowledge of laptop

• Windows XP suddenly shows not authentic

  I know there have been other discussions on this, but could someone help me please?  I installed the windows updates today (about 25 of them) and when I restarted the computer it is a black screen and says that my copy of Vista is not authentic.  I assure you that it is authentic, and I have the product key at the bottom of my laptop I could fix if it would provide a screen that would let me!  I ran the diagnostic tool for MGA and this is what he says:

  Hello, do someone knows if there is a maximum number of ldap users that I can import for users of the NSA 3600?

  If you talk to auth method change LDAP-Local user and have your username using their powers LDAP to authenticate the SonicWALL, so it's 300 users.  If you configure SINGLE sign-on, then you can have 500 con-current authenticated users.

  This information is based on equity 6.1 installed firmware. If you have installed 6.2 these numbers are slightly larger.
