External monitor display problems with Dynadock U10 on PC Toshiba laptop Win7

I just started with my current compnay and they allocated me a new from Toshiba Satallite laptop running with Windows 7 64 - bit operating System.

They hooked me up a Station of reception Dynadock U10, separate keyboard and a mouse and a monitor external 22 ".
I experienced a problem of compatibility with some software, but I currently have a major problem with slow internet pages freezing or general display issue when the VGA is connected to the docking station.

The laptop works fine when the VGA is connected directly to the laptop. I have download the recent software/driver upgrade loaded 18 (TC30322400A) without fixing the problem.

I also loaded the upgrade diplaylink 5.6.31548.exe, as mentioned in other forums, once again, without success.

Any help would be appreciated.

Alex

Are you using the latest driver?
In my opinion you should not update BIOS.

    Hi mates,

I have a Satellite U305 running Windows Vista, I also bought a VGA Dynadock with HP 20 "external monitor.

I have uppdated all Dynadock readers (Audio, video, etc.) to the latest version, but DVD-video or MPEG video recorded with my camera is not possible to look at the monitor extended that in the main screen (laptop computer monitor).

For example, my DVD Toshiba drive works normally on the laptop monitor but when I transfer window extended monitor, Toshiba DVD Player stops to work.
Video does not work on the extended screen.

Is this OK or I did something wrong configuration? Is this a bug? If this is a bug, how to fix this bug?

I'm you worry because I plug a large external monitor to watch a few movies that I can't watch it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I agree with the snipe of the user. The dynadock is simply not designed to transfer the enormous amount of data that accumulate to watch movies on DVD.
The USB ports are simply not designed for this

    Hello

If you receive a computer or laptop to the safest opportunity and the best way to go is to reinstall the operating system

Here are the different ways to reinstall Vista

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

    ____________________________________________________________

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

    __________________________________________________________

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

It seems that your screen displays some graphical anomalies when you connect to your user name. I would use these troubleshooting steps in the following article on the resolution of screens:

Restart your Mac in safe mode to reset the default display resolution.

If booting safe mode doesn't resolve the problem, reset your Mac NVRAM and SMC to reset the video ports on your Mac to their default values.

From: get help with graphics issues on external displays connected to your Mac.

  • Problem with external monitor when used with the Satellite P100-434

I'm trying to use a Vizitron L - 151 monitor flat screen connected to the VGA port on the back of my Satellite P100 - 434 (PSPADE)

I find that the screens seem to periodically - feeding cycle windows resize themselves and then the screens settle down again. This happens with the laptop and the external monitor.

I've updated the latest available BIOS V4.20 (November 2, 2007) I use 7.15.11.6369 NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 driver version. I'm under the edition of Vista Home Premium to standard build.

I even resorted to the use of the dvd system recovery to rebuild completely the laptop and the problem persists. In Device Manager I have generic Non - PnP monitor and below that I have a generic PnP monitor I tried and it is not possible to get specific drivers for the monitor Vizitron L-151. * NOTE * I saw dxdiag that the external display is identified the Non - PnP device

The display configuration that I'm trying to use is to have my laptop as the main screen with the external display on my left as an extension to the desktop. In display config my computer screen appears as number 2 with the additional display in the poster as a device 1

While typing this my screens have made this three times and the last time, this IE7 window installs itself to the external display in restored down to size.

If anyone has a glimpse of it, I would be very grateful. There are no problems when the external display is deleted.

_I can reproduce this problem on demand_ by uninstalling the monitor Non - PnP Device Manager.

Sorry, mate, but you ad confuses me a little and be hones I m not 100% sure what you take on
You have some problems with the resolution of the external display or what?

I've found another thread on the setting of the external screen as main screen:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/message.jspa?MessageID=96263#96263

    According to this statement:
    > In display config my computer screen appears as number 2 with the additional display in the poster as a device 1
It seems that the external monitor has been on the main screen and display books internal as external.

I recommend you change this settings and to use books appear as 1 and the external display form 2.

  • External monitor display Windows logo with 3-4 inch black border

Original title: external monitor shows background Windows, but not

My daughter was working in PowerPoint and that there was full-screen mode. When she clicked out of it somehow, the monitor now displays only the Black logo of windows (with a border of 3-4 inches) around it, but not actually the computer screen. A friend told me that a few keystrokes probably did. some keys of function or something. Do you know what function keys, they may have been? It connected the vga, if that makes a difference

Wow. Thank you for your long and well thought answer. I was out last night until 11:30 working on it and it finally got. I went through a few suggestions you made. After more research, the solution was simple (well that until last night, didn't even know these options exist).

When I right-click on the desktop screen and select 'Screen Resolution' the only option had been changed to "expand." Once I changed it to "reproduce" instantly displayed on the monitor screen.

  • External monitor connected to the Dynadock does not work

I just bought a docking station universal toshiba dynadock via amazon.com (latest version). I plugged on an Acer Aspire 5738zg computer laptop, Windows 7, 64 bit.
Everything works great - except for my external monitor (6 months old packard bell viseo 190w, 18.5 inches, max resolution 1366 x 768 at 60 Hz)

The dynadock manual says connect with monitor dynadock station via a vga cable - what I've done. Job monitor is completely black. The manual says then click the icon in the field of system status / tray (do not know what the word - the small icons at the bottom of the screen on the right screenfor side which) to configure the dynadock to be extended or mirror mode.

Problem is that the icon does not exist. I have the icon for the audio part of the dynadock and icon for the system whole dynadock (icon called "toshiba dynadock tool" - here I can release the docking for example, but do not do anything on video/screen).

I checked and the video/screen the dynadock element was installed togheter with everything - the installation was complete and successful. Still no icon if...
I'm not watching videos or games, just be able to use my external when monitor I surfing online and you use microsoft word etc. - no data transfer gigantic so far as I can tell.

How to solve this? Via the control panel of my laptop? How...? :-)

I'd appreciate some advice that I am completely lost as to how to solve this problem (tips preference in the form of a very easy step by step 'manual' as I'm absolutely not an expert in computer science, just a regular user).

    Hi nanna.

I think that the best way to solve this problem is to download and install the latest graphics driver for the dynadock.
So please, use this link, download and install the driver.
    http://www.DisplayLink.com/support/downloads.php

If the external display doesn´t not working after installing the driver, please do a right mouse click on desktop and verify the "screen resolution".
    You should see 2 screens.
If this is not the case - there is an error during the installation of the utility dynadock.

In this case, please visit the toshiba page
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp and download the latest dynadock utility.

Please chosse: Options - connectivity - Docks & replicators - Dynadock

You will find the version 2.4.0.13

    hope this will help you!

  • Portege M700 - problem with Dynadock

I can not change the resolution on a screen connected Dynadock and cannot save the display settings of all - how to fix this?

I have a Portege M700 running Vista Professional SP1 - mainly the machine is used as a desktop replacement, connected to a screen Viewsonic 19 "wide through the Dynadock DVI - when it is connected so I have the laptop screen is off and use only the Viewsonic at a resolution of 1440 x 900. I had been bothered by the fact that whenever the resumption of the screensaver, the resolution would drop down to some lower State (I was not able to identify the dimensions he thought he was using but probably 1280 x 800, the default resolution of the internal display).

I tried to solve this problem with the technical support level 3 without success. I thought I was smart and try to install the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver update that is located on the Intel Web site (if you're just trying to install this software, Vista won't let you, but if you unzip it and manually update the drivers it works). This resulted in the connected screen Dynadock is off completely - no signal! So I uninstalled the drivers, reinstalled the drivers Intel original, but now, I have no the ability to adjust the resolution on the Dynadock login screen - and it is defaulting to something that's not going to (too broad and not high enough)!

I lived several cycles to uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the graphics card (Mobile Intel 965 chipset) and the Dynadock; I updated the drivers Dynadock with the latest download from the website of DisplayLink, tried all sorts of drivers for the monitors associated with DisplayLink, tried several restorations system (which have all failed, which was also quite disturbing but less than an immediate concern), etc. Through all this, there is absolutely no way to choose the correct resolution of the screen through the display properties (my choices are 800 x 600, 1024 x 768 and 1280 x 800), and even simply activate an additional screen translates to nothing happens - the new settings do not stay after hitting "Accept" or "OK". I thought that I had licked when I realized that I had to uncheck "Extend to this monitor box office" to screen internal laptop - indeed I was then able to choose 1440 x 900 for the Viewsonic and everything was good, but everything came back after reboot. Of course, now when I try to repeat, I am unable to uncheck this box not more for the internal screen (well, actually, I can uncheck, but when I hit "apply" or "OK" it simply gets selected again).

All this comes after I spent weeks trying to get this machine to work with the port replicator, which also did not work - a problem that appears to be from an incompatibility with Vista display card drivers and the port replicator (would have been nice if it sales had told me that when I bought the thing, but I digress...)

In any case, it seems, as it is a Vista problem, I've seen this question asked of other portable devices vista and displaylink other advice, but I know it's possible to have a working reasonably OK solution since I've had one before I went and it messed up trying to work perfectly. Serves me right for spend 3 k $ on a machine and expected that it works as described, I guess. If anyone has any ideas... my next step is probably a downgrade to XP Pro, and then if that does not work, I'm tempted to break into pieces. Or, if someone's figured out how to get the port replicator to work with a M700 Vista, which is actually a better option for me...

    -Tony

    Hello Tony

It's a very long story, but I use Portege M700 with Dynadock DVI (PA3542Y1PRP) and have no problem at all. After reading your ad I tried changing all the display options and I didn t notice something strange. It works well.

Read your ad I see you tried to install different things and I wonder not to have so many problems. The best solution for you is to install the new OS using recovery image. Do the clean install of OS and install later Dynadock Utility 2.3 c. be careful while installation is running and do not interrupt the procedure of facilities. Make sure that all software components are installed correctly.

When you start installation Dynadock Utility Dynacock can not be connected. When you see the window where you will be asked to connect Audio device USB connect the Dynadock to the USB port of your favorite. I use the USB port on the back.

I use the external display to monitor LCD 22 with a resolution of 1680 x 1050. In the settings screen is display number three and when I click on it I can set the resolution to the maximum level (native resolution). The image is perfect.

I tried the same as you:
-Set the external display as primary monitor (for computer laptop LCD was OFF)
-J' have enabled screen saver and tested several times, but the resolution is always the same no changes at all the
-With these settings, I rebooted the phone several times as well as the resolution was still the same no problem at all

After reboot, I can see the image on the notebook LCD only, to the point where I have to write the password that I can see the same image on laptop LCD and external monitor. A few seconds later, the image is switched on external monitor only and it is the same thing you want to have. The resolution is the same again (native resolution). No change at all and all seems OK.

At the end I've switched back to the LCD display only. It is also interesting to procedure. As a first step, you click on display number one and activate extended desktop. After that, you will be able to use the option to change the primary monitor. A little strange to me, but OK.

So everything works well for me and for you I only see an option. Reinstall Vista, install new utility Dynadock (new installations) and test again.
One last thing: do not connect Dynadock on different USB ports. Use always the same.

    Bye and good luck!

  • Display problems with the Portege R600 and Win 7

I have a R600 running windows 7, every two minutes, I have a display problem where where the vertical pixels seem to get every centimeter unaligned, so my screen seems to blur digital in bars across it.

I have an external monitor attached and get the same problem with or without him. I have tired the driver of toshiba and intel driver.

It seems to go away if I have windows min and max, but sometimes it doesn't. If I run my mouse an affected area, that it seems in trouble and sometimes it's not all screen.

    A refresh solves it.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    > I have an external monitor attached and get the same problem with or without him.
Maybe I m wrong but in most cases if these symptoms are seen on the two displays (internal & external) then a graphics chip could be affected
It would be the worst case, because that would mean that the motherboard needs to be replaced

But just a question; have you noticed that using the previous Windows OS preinstalled by maybe Toshiba (Win XP or Vista), you must install the image of Toshiba again to verify if this display problem is still visible

  • Can not do primary external monitor on Portege M700 & Dynadock

It is impossible to make a screen Toshiba external 22 "the * primary * with the M700 Toshiba LCD screen as the * secondary * 'expanded '.
The external monitor is connected to the Dynadock DVI. Runing Win XP SP3.

The monitor works well as a display of volumes mirrored and extended with the M700 maintained as principal.
Externally also works very well as the primary _WITHOUT_ display M700.

When external is set as primary (and the M700 display is off), if I try to designate the internal display M700 such extended, the system reverts to the original with the M700 as main configuration and extended such externally.

Any ideas why it does not work with externally as a main and the only extended such M700 screen with the Dynadock?

Have you ever tried to test it, if you can define the secondary external primary and internal not using only not the dynadock?

I would also recommend reinstall display drivers and dynadock too.

  • Satellite A30 714: external monitor displays in 640 x 480 only

I am trying to connect to an external LCD monitor with a native resolution of 1280 x 1024. When I plugged the screen plug-and-play Windows XP installed, now when I switch to the screen of the laptop to this screen (or running dual screen) it will be the only display at 640 x 480 and does all of the options in the graphic properties to change the resolution.
But, if I use the external display as extended desktop, then I'm able to put any resolution I want upward and above 1280 x 1024.
I am running XP Home and I have installed the latest graphics drivers from Toshiba.

It's very strange. If the correct driver is pre-installed to avoid any problems. If you want to use just external monitor using FN + F5 to change the Office externally and then change the resolution (the number of screen 1 must be enabled).

  • Impossible to get a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1600 on external monitor using DVI with Optimus video T420s

    Hello

I have a T420s with Nvidia Optimus graphics card. I also have the ThinkPad Mini Dock Plus Series 3.

When I tried to drive an external monitor via DVI, I can't get the full resolution of 2560 x 1600.

I searched the forums and found several threads expressing problems with the implementation of the resolution of 2560 x 1600 per display port. Engineering even issued a new nvidia driver to solve problems. (http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/T420-Unable-to-get-max-resolution-of-2560x1...

I uninstalled my intel/nvidia drivers but also installed the latest lenovo driver according to the instructions on the previous post and I still can't get the full resolution of 2560 x 1600 on the DVI ports of the docking station. I tried two DVI ports on the docking station, and it still does not work. I tried enabling Optimus, discreet mode mode, etc... Nothing helps.

However, if I try to drive the external monitor via the display of the docking port, I can get the complete resolution of 2560 x 1600.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this so I can use the DVI ports on the docking station?

Thank you very much for the help!

dvi on the dock port is single link dvi and not dual link dvi, as such, it supports WQXGA or WQHD resolution.

In order to use the resolution WQXGA resolution, you must use the displayport, if you monitor is not a displayport then you must use an active displayport to DVI.

    Hi all

This problem is a BIOS problem more precisely with the memory reference Code (MRC) version 1.4.0.0 or more. Contact the manufacturer of your system or the card mother for an update system for your system BIOS or the motherboard that includes the MRC 1.5.0.0 or newer.
If you have a system with 2 or more memory modules and are comfortable with the removal of all but one of them so that your memory is in single channel mode, try and remove all but one of them and the problem will disappear. This can be used as a workaround until you are able to update your BIOS from the manufacturer of your system or motherboard that includes the MRC 1.5.0.0 or newer.
