  Windows Media Player will not rip a DVD but there is no
  reason for ripping a DVD homemade that contains movies at home.

  Homemade (copy unprotected) DVD is easy...
  Simply insert the DVD in your DVD player... to... Start /.
  Computer... right click on the DVD drive icon and
  Choose explores... you should see the directory of the DVD.

  File 'VIDEO_TS' Now... Copy/Paste or drag/drop...the
  from the DVD in a new folder (renamed to)
  the DVD corresponding) on your hard drive and what's.

  If you have VLC Media Player on your system (for example)
  you could click with the right button on the VIDEO_TS folder and choose...

  Hi - I'm new and really confused!

  Is it possible for someone to explain VERY SIMPLY how to get album art of WMP12 in "rocket"? She shows in WMP, but does not appear automatically when you synchronize on. A simple step by step guide would be great!

  Just a theory, but USB mode, you are in? I think that if you see the art on WMP, but it syncs, that maybe MTP mode would bring art. I do not use WMP12 with my Win7, I prefer Mediamonkey... but I think that might help.

• Problems of slow performance in Vista when playing music with WMP 11

  Whenever I'm playing music on WMP 11, my computer slows down briefly.

  I assume this has something to do with my sound driver/card, but don't know what.

  I use my PC sound card. I use the Logitech Z-5 speakers.

  Please keep in mind that I have recently reinstalled Vista on this computer, and before replacing, I had no such problem. I currently use the same drivers I did then.

  You can perform a clean boot and check if you are facing the same question to the clean boot. To perform the clean boot follow step 1 mentioned in the article below, and then try again check in the clean boot state -

  I use to burn CDs all the time. Then, for some reason any one day it wouldn't let me on wmp won't be on Itunes. I checked the updates and tried different settings. After I insert a blank cd, it says check media for about 5 minutes, it seems. Then everything stops.

  What happens if you close all programs and then put in a blank CD?

  You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)
  Playback of CD and DVD). So it is not unusual for parts from 1 or 2 to not work so that others do
  correctly.

  Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

  CD/DVDs have a tolerance + - and your can read/write on the edge outside these discs
  tolerances. They may be delivered, but it is generally more economical to replace the disk.

  This troubleshooting could not help if there is alignment and/or wear issues however it

  Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
  ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
  contacts data with a pencil eraser.

  Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
  manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

  the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

• I am having a very strange problem with WMP 12 in WINDOWS 7

  Hello. I could use some help. A bit of background. HP can not solve the problem (I have a contract with the manufacturing service). I used this drive for 2 years without a lot of questions. I have more than 400 albums in my library.

  I got a new CD, sealed in its original packaging. The 1st thing I always do when adding new items to my library's copy of the disc. After that I tear to the library. Then I play WMP 12 on my desk. Everything was going well until the runway 13, when, after 00:28 seconds, he stopped play. I think a lot I have to send this back CD. Then after still ongoing at 01:16 he started playing again!

  I thought it was a little weird, I played both the original and the copy in my drive, they played very well. On my laptop, I played the original, he played without a break. I ripped the album to WMP 11 on my laptop and then saved on a flash drive. I used the flash drive to load the album to my office (WMP 12). He stopped playing exactly like the CD! Then I played the music taken from my Amazon music player and it plays very well.

  Please help, I know it seems trivial, but it drives me crazy (OCD, what can I say?).

  In addition, Ive ripped plus CD for my library without problem? Thanks for all the ideas.

  I read your Q When you first published and have waited to see if anyone has offered anything. Silence came the strong response! It is as you say - a strange. Track is playing well in one system and not another, etc.

  The only suggestion I can think of is open the file in an editor such as "Audacity" and that might give you a clue as to if there is a mistake that he stops playing and also a way to re - store version of wav music file seamlessly. It depends on how your OCD is ready to take you...!  :-) - you may need to download install and learn how use Audacity if you are not already using it or something similar.

  I liked the simplicity of the pane list WMP 11. The ability to play songs from my library while simultaneously watching a playlist made life easier. I can't do it with the list of WMP 12 pane. Is it possible to downgrade WMP 11 with Windows 7, or is WMP 11 so outdated they are incompatible?

  Alternatively, is it possible to set WMP 12 in such a way that it is possible to play a song from my library without the component list lists switching on me?

  In WMP 12, you can always change a playlist in the center pane while an another playlist is played.

  It is not possible to simply install WMP 11 on Windows 7. There are instructions on the web to get around this, but you may break the WMP completely and reinstalling Windows. However, it is perfectly fine to install WMP 11 in Windows 7 XP Mode .

  I am using the OverDrive Media Console software to download and transfer of library books protected by DRM. OverDrive has reported that WMP needs an upgrade of the security component. However, when I tried to upgrade via the Tools menu of the OverDrive, nothing happened.

  None of the messages that I happened to see here seems to work, but I finally found a simple solution to this problem on the OverDrive site.

  Because I recently received a comment here on OTN that extract/extractvalue should no more be used to extract the XML I was playing with xmltable.
  However, I use a little problem.

• Playing DVDs with WMP

  I have a friend who has a relatively new Inspiron 1420 with Vista Business (bought Oct ' 07). Just recently, he tried to play a DVD for the first time and when the DVD is loaded, Windows Media Player (v11) came and acted as if he was going to play, but then disappeared instantly... He has worked for music and other video files WMP, but apparently always disappeared when he was asked to play DVDs.

  This could be just an MPEG2 decoder missing? I looked for the supplied DVD player, but not found in the programs... If it is not included with Vista Business?
