  I'm the Dean in a high school and I need to keep track of demerits of the student and served detention.  I created a spreadsheet on the photo below.  As you can see whenever a student gets a demerit, I put it all in a row (date, teacher gives the incapacity, that was the incapacity and how many demerits received for the offence).  So you can imagine the end of the quarter, this worksheet is big enough (400-500 lines). I also put a negative number (-2) when the student uses of detention (a student must serve each received 2 drawbacks.

  I wrote about this formula on this forum almost two years ago.  I have another tab (sheet) that adds up all the disadvantages, so I can go to this (roadmap) tab and see who needs to serve.  The formula a = SUMIF (Sheet1! Header, header, Sheet1H:H) and it works beautifully. This other sheet has our entire student body on it (each student only listed time... If we have a student population of 300 students, it has only 300 lines). We add all the points (even negative), I can see that has more than 2 demerits and who needs to serve.  In the example below, Steve Abrahim would have 0 demerits on the second sheet because he received 4, but also served 4.

  But now, I realize that I need a second tab (sheet) that has the total number of demerits a student receives during the quarter.  Then, I need a formula that sums only positive numbers.  So, once again, this worksheet will have all our student body listed in the column (a student by rank).  On this tab (sheet), Steve Abrahim would be 4 demerits (even if he served two detentions) and Adam Butler would also have four (even if he served only a detention).  Can someone write this formula?

  It is possible, use a format customized in Numbers ' 09. I don't know if this feature is available in 3 editions.

• Extraction of specific numbers of a text file?

  I have a text file with repetition of the data sets.  Each is long 4 lines, with line 1 which contains a title, line 2, with a constant that identifies the data, line 3 has a single number and line 4 has two digits corresponding to a max and min.  Is there a way I can extract the line numbers 2, 3 and 4 separately to create a table for each?  So far, I used file text, connected to a loop playback, containing analysis of string function.  I don't know how to choose every 4th line of the file to obtain common aggregate.  I am new to Labview, so any advice is much appreciated!  Thank you.

• Mathematical function to show only the positive numbers?

  Does anyone know of a mathematical function to show only the positive numbers. I have a formula that returns an integer, if the integer is negative, I want to show ZERO. I'd rather not have to use a case statement.
  
  For example, if it returns 5, I want to see 5. If it returns 0, I want to see 0. If it returns-2, I want to see 0.

  How about this?

  (x + ABS) / 2

  where x is the column?

  When x = 5, you have (5 + 5) / 2 = 5

  When x = 0, you have (0 + 0) / 2 = 0

  When x =-2, you have (-2 + 2) / 2 = 0

• Extract/Scan for numbers of several lines of strings

  Hi all

  I want to extract (data) numbers obtained from an acquisition of series that will be shown in several online channels:

  $# pressure 20

  ! @temperature 100

  #voltage 1.2

  I want to extract 20 100 and 1.2 so that I can do more than manipulation of data. Should I use the regular expression to match? I couldn't get a good regular expression to extract the numbers.

  What I want to do is to find the positive value of each column.

  For example, I have this table

  I managed to have the positve in each case, but the value do not match (I have all the positive values of each column) as

  Just to be clear: you want the output array to contain all rows in the input table that have positive values in the two column A and column B?  Are you using strictly positive (> 0) comparisons or not negative (> = 0)?  Are integers of values?

  The Auto-Numbering Format is

  This is probably because you have all your numbering in the same series, i.e. without label series is used.

  Automatic numbering FM may use a series label so that the flow of numbering behaves independently. The label of the series consists of a single character (uppercase and lowercase are separated), followed by a colon, for example H: (see the example provided in response to Niels).

  For the headers, you can use the label H: or h:. Some users also use F: figures and T: for tables, but it is up to you to define your favorite program.

  Paragraphs that use the numbering of should be in another series of positions, i.e.\t A: and A:\t

  Hi all.

  I have several themes that use the same 5 steps in a process, that I put in a code snippet, and then add several numbered steps more to the list that are specific to this topic.

  I want the additional steps that are not part of the extract of continue numbering. for now, I have the 5 steps numbered in the extract and additional specific steps for each topic restart at 1, rather than continue to 6.

  for example.

  2. Enter your text

  3. Select your criteria

  4 Select the...

  5 click search.

  1 of the window... click... - This step is a continuation of the previous 5 but numbering does not, on the contrary, it restarts.

  The only way to achieve this is to restart the numbering of the item in the list after the code snippet in the required number. You can submit a feature request for it.

• positive and negative rotation numbers

  Hi all

  I create a roulette game that calculates the winning number based on the rotation of the main wheel. I'm if/else using statements to determine the winning number based on the rotation. I am tracking the rotation in the output panel. I want my rotation to go between 0 and 360, but the output panel trace 0-180, then it starts from "-180-0."

  The wheel can turn several times. No idea how to keep the positive numbers between 0 and 360, and do not have to write my if else to accommodate negative numbers?

  The process is the same in number, enter the formula in the first line of the table non-en-tete, and then fill down.

  The kicker, of course, is 'What formula?' and the answer to that depends on the structure of your table.

  If the deposits and withdrawals are recorded in the same column (eg. (D) and is distinguished by withdrawals recorded in negative numbers and the initial balance is in cell D2, then the formula is

  = SUM(D$2:D2)

  Filled down, reference D$ 2 will remain sharp at D2, D2 reference (without the operator $) will point to the cell in the current row of column D, and the formula returns the total of all values in column D.

  If deposits and withdrawals are distinguished by being lists in separate columns (say d, withdrawals, deposits in E) all entered as positive numbers, then enter the opening as a deposit in D2 and use this formula:

  = SUM(D$2:D2)-SUM(E$2:E2)

  Each formula is entered in row 2 of the column that holds the balance running and filled until the end of the table.

  You can summarize a range (say the column was) like this:

  = SUMIF (A, "> 0")

  If you had the "value comparison" in a cell (cell B1 of perhaps), then you can also use:

  = SUMIF (A, ">" & B1)
