• Satellite U400-135 overheating

  A few weeks back I bought the new Toshiba Satellite U400-138 and now I feel it is a lower design due to numerous complains that I found one here in the forum support or by people who have tried to deal with this series.

  Fist of all the overheating problem becomes not affordable as I'm about to lose my fingers due to the extreme heat comes from the lower level of touch pad! In addition it usually takes more than 7 minutes to get the login screen of windows while beginning to the top of the window and when you access the window continues to display the CPU usage almost 100% long just by clicking the internet explorer, so I can't do anything except wait (it's killing slow) and when I compare with my old P4 desktop , according to me, how I was wrong when I decided to go to the U-400!

  Today I've decided to take the laptop to the Toshiba dealer and when I was there, I tried to touch the lower part of the availbel for similar in the showroom model and it was very hot and when I asked the sales man there he informed me that there are many customers reported the same complain so I referred me to their service center for inspection and I'm so annoying now because my new laptop will be served after only two weeks and I think that this model is a design of lower quality and the only way to get rid of this problem to get the same replaced by something else?

  I have a U400 too. It s a U400 which belongs to the series of PSU40E.
  I use two BONES; Vista and XP.

  Initially the Vista started slowly, it was not too slow but slower than Win XP.

  I studied a bit and found a solution;
  First of all, I discovered that many background processes and apps have loaded early in the boot process in MSCONFIG, you can find these applications.

  I disabled some unnecessary programs (for me) and the notebook starts up much faster.

  Moreover, I noticed that Tempro update tool helped me a lot.

  So please check these two proposals.

  Regarding the temperature more high touchpad;
  Well, my touchpad is also hotter than the rest of the cover of the laptop but is nothing unusual because cooling modules are placed under the touchpad and the left side is warmer due to the dissipation of the heat of this side of the laptop

• HP G62 charger making a high-pitched noise, but heater does not

  My laptop charger noise is loud and high-pitched, change of volume at irregular intervals.  This amounts to the issue being reported in a previous post a couple of years [HP G62 charger making a high pitched noise] except that my charger does not heat.  Pressing the case of charger makes a louder noise.

  The number of portable computer product is XZ183UA #ABA.  It's a laptop HP G62-457DX.

  Should I replace the charger? I am concerned, it could be a fire hazard, or otherwise may fail in a bad way.

  If it is a possible risk, I feel that I should say HP somehow official, so they can keep track of it.  The laptop is long out of warranty.  Is there a number to call?

  It seems the loader performs a sharp noisy, that worry you. I would also, from what you have described.

• MacBook air 13 inch 2014 i5 4 GB ram extreme of heating is safe?

  Okay so here's the deal I started to play games on my macbook air call of duty mw2 and assassins creed brotherhood/ac1. But as soon as I start playing games it starts to heat up like crazy! like seriously sure can't touch even this side of my laptop when its hot s near the hinges under it, and on the upper left side!

  So it's good for me to continue using it as playing games please help it will not harm my battery or sth something?

  I even updated to the new operating system OS x capitan

  It is normal for the computer to heat to the top/fans run all playing intensive computer games, but it is not hot enough to burn you.

  If you fear that the computer gets too hot, you can take the device to an Apple Store and have them run a diagnostic equipment.

  My computer gets hot enough while playing the games as well, but I just do not touch the hot parts. Make sure that you are in a well ventilated area. Also never play games or use the computer on your lap/bed/pillow/etc.. as they could block the ventilation on the computer areas.

• I have a macbook pro 2009 environment.  Upgrading ram 8 GB and it becomes extremely hot.  Never done with 4 GB. Only using a Firefox window.

  Just upgraded from 4 GB to 8 GB of Ram.  It now becomes extremely hot very quickly.  Has never done this before. Is that what I can do to reduce this heat.

  Do you have what brand of RAM installed? Some brands will interrupt in modern Macs.

  It is possible that you hit a cooling fan connector while improving the RAM. Find the system of installation/restore disks accompanying you MBP and use them to run Apple Hardware Test. Instructions here:

  OS X Yosemite: use the Diagnostics of Apple or Apple Hardware Test

  That will be displayed if a fan has trouble.

• EliteBook 8530w becomes extremely hot!

  I have an Elitebook 8530w for a few years now and for a few weeks, it's extremely hot, without the laptop even do anything just to be inactive in windows.

  I can bear high enough levels of heat with my hands, but the temperature of the air coming out of the exhaust on the left is so hot that I can't hold my hand in front of her. Today I need to download a software for my new office, so I used one of the USB slots on the left (near the exhaust), as the other 2 were occupied. After like 20 minutes, I removed my USB flash drive and almost immediately, drop it on my table, because the drive was too hot to handle.

  IM installing a new OS on a 8530w.

  After you have everything installed Vista I could barely touch the laptop.

  It was so hot.

  But on mine, there was little or no air flow coming out to the left upper exhaust.

  So I removed the keyboard. "" Two screws on the bottom and the four pieces of restraint between esc - f1, f4 - f5 and f8 - f9-f12-scrolling.

  In the upper left corner, remove the connector of the fan.

  Remove the 3 couple for the fan.

  Remove the fan and clean between the fan and the radiator fins.

  Replace in reverse.

  I have a Satellite L500 with a heating problem. When in the course of use, the power adapter gets extremely hot, if the battery is in or out. So much so, that melted the case around the adapter. My first thought is that it's the cord itself which is defective and will buy a replacement for it. If not, should what other things I look for?

  I have two laptops Toshiba and the area around the plug of AC adapter is not warm or hot.

  But in the worst case, it could be a problem with the power supply or the broken cable
  Maybe you should try a genuine Toshiba AC adapter and another, good work.

  Several times a laptop overheating is directly related to the cooling of the processor. The main culprit is the fan. The fan draws in air from the bottom and it blows on the side. It will also suck in the hair, dust and other debris. Often this kind of thing is trapped by the heat sink and the wire time accumulates in a layer that stifles the cool air, go to the processor, making the fan to redouble their efforts.
  
  What I recommend is to take a canned air and blow out vents in the side and the underside of the laptop. If after that you still have overheating problems and your laptop is under warranty, you can take your laptop to an authorized Service Center HP and ask them to clean the fan and the heat sink.   If it is out of warranty, consider looking for the service manual for your specific model, in the manual it is patterns to disassemble the laptop. It is much easier that remove a motherboard, so don't feel intimidated by the idea of clean the fan. Also you can remove the heat sink and then remove the thermal grease and apply a new layer, which also helps reduce heat related issues.

• Spectrum of HP 13: HP spectrum extremely hot AND - is this normal? It's as if there is a band on the inside!

  Just received my spectrum 13 HP. After loading it and first used for about 2-3 hours, it becomes extremely hot (especially the part of gold). I don't know if this is normal, if anyone can share your experience?

  Mine is exactly the same. I never noticed that one side of the vents is blocked like that. But as I said I feel no overheating. We need to quantify the heat. One man's hot hot with another man and laptops become hot. If it's so hot you can't keep your hand there is too hot. Get hot just enough so that it is a little bit uncomfortable is not too hot.

  I have a 2 HP G62-451sa bought new years. I discovered that my use of physical memory is extremely high (80-90%) of the 3 GB of Ram (1 GB + 2 GB) I have. I have a 64-bit windows, and I'm looking for RAM upgrades. Can I switch to 8 GB (2 x 4 GB)? and if so where can I buy those replacements of 4 GB of ram for my model because I have found none to my computer through to look at many sites such as crucial.com etc...   Chapter 1 page 1-1 provides the memory upgrade information (Yes, you can install 2 x 4 GB of PC3-8500 memory or 10600).

  Just make sure you get chips with 8 black memories of each side of the Board.

  Unless you live in the United States, I know not what brands are available in other countries or where you can buy them.

  At the moment I have 2x2gig of Ram. When I insirted 2x4gig ram, the laptop wouldn't start.

  The problem with that is that if it has a global maximum of 4 concerts there also a max per slot of 2 GB. So, theoretically a 4 GB does not work in a slot, if max is really 4 gigs. If 4 GB works when it is installed by itself, then we can have a bad location or a problem of bad module. This seems like an extreme long shot, but what you have to lose by trying?

• My Airport Extreme is overheating after having 2 years.

  My Airport Extreme (part number ME918LL/A) after two years is more hear a lot with the fan running all the time. I tried to keep it dusted but I'm afraid it's to have pulled up in the router by the fan. Is it possible to clean the dust router, it pulls in? I'm surprised that there no air holes near the top of him to help cool.

  I hope you have AppleCare implemented on a Mac or other device... covering AirPort Extreme for up to 3 years from the date of purchase. If so, take the airport an Apple Retail Store or contact Apple's Support to get a replacement AirPort Extreme.

  If you have no grip under warranty for a replacement, then your only other option would be to open the AirPort Extreme and try to clean or replace the fan. Apple doesn't offer spare parts, but you may be able to find a suitable fan replacement if a good cleaning does not cure the noise and heat issue.

  It is extremely hard to do and even harder to explain how do. You must first get a mental picture of how the key is attached and how to build media bit (I call them the 'bridge') under the key. I just spent an hour doing this Saturday on one last model G62 and it has not been easy.
