  According to the description of the problem your printer does not print text on paper as there is no ink. The question might be if there is no ink in the cartridges.   Thank you for you a message.  My printer worked fine with my Windows 7 laptop as I upgraded from Vista in May.  This the first time this problem has occurred.  I have change a color ink cartridge in the morning that it has stopped working.  But, he continued to work for about 3 hours after the replacement of the cartridge, so I don't really think that's the problem.

I suggest that you install the USB printer to Windows 7 computer using the software on the link below and follow the Microsoft document for installation printer sharing.   On the main screen on the printer, press return, cancel, back, back button successively. You see Help menu, press the ok button, then use top / down arrow button to find the menu reset, reset complete semi selection and press the ok button.

  It's troubleshooting last step which I recommend. If this does not solve your problem unfortunately you will need to replace the printer.
