Failed to create dashboard customized by vRealize Operation manager

Hi all

I just deployed a cluster of vRealize (v.6.0.2) Operations Manager and I am able to deploy solutions/manage roles inside. However, when I want to create the custom dashboard, I found that there is no such option for me.

Cannot_CreateDashboard1.png

I connect the administrator account created during the installation, which is supposed to have every permission.

Cannot_CreateDashboard2.png

No suspicion on which permission/configuration I may have missed to create dashboard?

Thank you

Silvester

Looks like you are using a key of vSOM.  I see it's enterprise edition, which entitles you to vSphere Enterprise, but all versions of vSOM give access to only the Operations Manager Standard edition features vRealize.

The link below mentions "capabilities are equivalent to the vRealize Operations Manager Standard edition"

  • Can it differentiate please vmware Sphere operation management and VMware vRealize Operations Manager 6.0?

    Hello

We have a license for VMware vSphere 6 with operations management Enterprise Plus for 1 processor

Can explain everything about the use of these products and differentiate? Also, do I need to buy VMware vRealize Operations Manager 6.0 license to use this VSOM?

vSphere with operations management Enterprise Plus 1 processor 6 includes 1 processor for vSphere Enterprise 6, Plus and one license for vRealize Operations Manager Standard.  You don't need to purchase vRealize Operations Manager 6.0 to use vSOM, as it is included.

  • vRealize Operations Manager 6 - trial and question

    Hello-

Recently, I have deployed the trial for vRealize Operations Manager 6. I have 2 Server vCenter added, seems to work very well, but the other shows the joint as crucial. I did a little research but didn't find anything clear about the cause or the resolution of these messages. I hope someone can help point me in the right direction.

    Thank you!

  • Create dashboard custom Transactions of RDFS with error?

We have implemented a FTR for application and we currently see transactions and their end-user response time in the Explorer in Foglight.

In results view (accessible via the view explore end-user, under Agent Intelligent-> Service) - screenshot to join - we see the response time of the transactions and the transaction which has encountered an error.

However, looking at the view explore end-user for this robot, we can only see the response under the summary operation time. It includes no info if the transaction has encountered an error.

What the customer wants, is to have a custom Foglight dashboard and view transactions that meet errors and set alarms for them. They will not return to the view of the results as well that to view results only has not any installation of alarms for her.

Is there a was to create a personalized dashboard that displays the error for some operations the robot, as well as whenever they encounter a problem installing alarms?

    Thank you

    Mike,

What happens behind the views are two different applications, dashboards, foglight for Solution Explorer data, then the intelligent agent dashboards where you see the low-level operations. When you display data in the intelligent agent, you access a browser located on the FTR player that pulls data from RDF files results in the player directories. Some of the outcomes data is pushed to the foglight Management Server for reporting.

There are alarms that get fired when a player fails to run a script. You do not see these alarms?

  • [VOA] vRealize Operations Manager > VOA reports display the values, I can't choose for myself

    Dear people,

I was wondering if you can help me with a question about the visibility of the data in combination with the beam of VOA and values.

As you know, the VOA bundle comes with a bunch of reports which consists of different points of view.

These views are used to extract information from the distribution of the VMware Tools vSphere environment, showing the slow down VMs and many other things.

But here's the problem: no matter what I try, I can't reproduce these included several views.

    For example:

I select the view predefined "Machines Virtual Guest OS Distribution" as included in the package of VOA.

Topic , this is related to VCenter-adapter Virtual Machine.

Data , this is related to summary | Guest operating system. Full name of the OS comments.

I have provided a Gifcam-record showing what is the problem:

    Subject-and-Data-Problem.gif

The built-in view contains this information of guest operating system , I can't check myself, no matter what I try. This selection of data simply does not exist, yet, it is mentioned in the report.

What kind of constraint is it? Why the report does not show properly I still do not see the values?

Anyone else had this problem and knows how to handle this problem?

    Any help is very appreciated!

    Kind regards

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I am logged in as admin.

After re-reading your application, I think that my last post has not answered your question.  However, it should...

You don't see the full name of the Guest OS tab data, is because you're metric research, not properties.  Click on the small icon in the upper left corner nest to the filter field, and it will change to the properties.  Now, you will see Guest OS full name under summary as a data option.

  • vRealize Operation Manager 6.0 - Snooze alert for host in maintenance

    Hello

I was wondering if somebody encounter this situation or have a solution for this. In the previous version of vCOPS by default when a host was in interview he disappeared from vCops and does not generate any alerts. With the new version, this behavior is no longer present. Since we are currently plug our hosts, we get a bunch of alerts for guests who do not have loads of work on them.

If anyone has a way for us to get this functionality, let me know! Looking into this at the same time.

    Thank you!

Finally I ended up adding a definition of the symptom in the alert

Where this can be useful for someone else

Alert definition: host has lost the connection to vCenter Server

Creates a new definition of the symptom

    Type = property

Name = host State not in maintenance

Length of ownership. State of maintenance. = inMaintenance

The alert now as two conditions and for the moment, in my test environment, that it does not work as expected.

  • Widgets/Dashboard customized for vSphere Web Client?

    Hey all,.

I have tested vCOPS 5.7 in the laboratory and have a question:

Is it possible to create dashboards customized to the users that connect through the Web Client vSphere?

Or is it only possible to create dashboards customized during connection of users through the personalized UI Portal?

I have a few users who will record only by using the Web Client vSphere.  Although the predefined dashboards is nice, I want to know if any degree of customization is possible.

    Thank you

    Andrew

It depends on what exactly you want to customize, but generally vSphere UI as a whole is much less customizable than the custom user interface. It depends on whether access you if via the vSphere Client or directly through the browser. The widgets in the dashboard of the user interface of vSphere are hard defined by object type. The customizable part of vSphere UI is tab analysis (Heatmap Gallery).

    Hope this helps,

    Alex D.

As IOM tablespace maxed out, we were receving a lot of mistakes. It was one of them.

Thank you Anne for your contributions.

  • vRealize operations - custom data center

I have created two centres of custom data in the vRealize operations 6.1 Standard edition (each consisting of two Clusters of ESXi). After the creation of the 'health', 'Risk' and 'Efficiency' show gray question marks in the Statute, but the alarms is correctly filled. When I log out vRealize operations and you connect again (a little later) my custom data centers has disappeared. Someone has any idea how to solve this problem?

    Thank you

    Roland

The grey '? "badges at the start are expected.  (1) the created object is new. (2) vROps needs time to aggregate scores badge for multiple groups added to your custom data center.  It is therefore quite normal.

As to why they would disappear, I have no idea, but here are a few things to check.  Check under explore the inventory and see if your custom data center still exists as an object.  If this is the case, make sure that you connect back with the same user ID that you have created with.  Make sure that the user has permission to view this object.  Preferably, use admin if possible.
