Failed to install automatic update (KB982168, KB239631, KB2572073, KB2656352),

Mr. Fix - it troubleshooting tool reports all is fine.  Other updates were downloaded and installed without problem, but these 4 always fail.  In addition, I downloaded from the Microsoft site, but the installation always fails.  Please let me know what I can do.  Thank you.

Don't worry if no. 4 is not installed on this subject.

Reinstall the affected versions of the framework is the only way to solve the problem. Had to do it myself on my XP computer (that I have). Get a friend to help if necessary.

Error code Windows Update '0 x 643' Windows Installer error code "1603" are generic error codes. As a general rule, these error codes mean that the update was not installed. These error codes are usually caused by a corruption in the installation of .NET Framework or by an inconsistency on the MSI database state.

    Hi Luigi,

Don't worry about wasting my time. I love doing research and constantly learn new things.  I found another post on this site which recommended the .NET solution.  Here is the link to this article: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistawu/thread/e3d8edeb-1a3b-42d3-a635-070264696db5.  Unfortunately the user in this link has failed to let us know if it worked for her or not.

If this does not work (or you don't want to go through the above steps), you must contact Microsoft Update Solution Center http://support.microsoft.com/ph/6527#tab0.  Click on Contact a technical support engineerand accept the agreement.  You will receive the free e-mail directly support from Microsoft Support staff.  Don't forget to let them know all the steps you have tried so far so that they are not duplicated.

If this is resolved, I'd be happy if you referred to this site to let me know how it was fixed.

    Good luck

    Barbara

    Hi Larrygrybos,

    ·         You receive an error code or error message for the update failed?

Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

Method 1: You can try to manually download the Windows update client according to the edition of the operating system 32 or 64-bit:

    32-BIT downloads: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=178959

    64-BIT downloads: http://go.Microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=178960

Method 2: I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and try to install the update.

You can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
