Failed to load nicvidu.dll

I installed the version 8.5.0 (279) of LabWindows/CVI.  I am running the 'Simple_DIO_Example' example in debugging and get an error during the call to the function 'NIDAQmx_NewPhysChanDOLineCtrl() '.  If I walk through the program I get a popup saying: 'the procedure entry point not found __CVI_Resource_Acquire in the dynamic link library cvirte.dll', but if I run the program without stepping through it, I get a popup saying "could not load nicvidu.dll.  Check your installation. »

I found several posts referring to the '... ". procedure entry point... "message that shows a different version of the cvirte and to delete multiple copies or repair the installation.  I have one copy, and it is the same version as the software (there are two other references on my computer, but these are in an Acronis backup file).  In addition, messages seem to have in common that the error occurs on a different computer than the development environment, while mine is in the development environment.  I tried the repair track, but no change.

I have not seen all the messages related to the second message.

I am using Windows XP SP3, LabWindows/CVI 8.5.0 (279) and NOR-DAQmx version 9.0.2 (recently updated to 8.0.1).

Thanks in advance,

Leland

Hey, Leland,.

It seems that what you run into maybe a bug.  A corrective action request was filed (CAR #: 196232).  It seems that a dependency has been added for DAQmx IO CVI controls such as runtime engine 9.0 or newer is required.

Workaround here should be pretty simple: upgrade to CVI Runtime Engine 9.0 or newer: http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/1285/lang/en

Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for that bring to our attention.

Please let me know if you have further questions. If you want to track the status of this request at a later date, feel free to reply to this message then.

The error seems to be a common problem with Dell laptops:

It seems that apoint.exe gives the error that indicates that the problem is with the Alps touchpad driver.

Try to uninstall the Alps touchpad driver and then install the latest version available from Dell for your laptop:

    Hi Madoo17,

Welcome to the community of Microsoft and thanks for posting the question. I've surely you will help find a solution on the issue.

    1. Once you get this error message?

    2. it worked before?

3 did you changes to the computer before the show?

    Perform the steps:

    Method 1:

Put the computer in a State of boot is a way to know which application is causing this problem.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

    Step 1:

Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

Follow the steps in the link below to do the same thing:

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as shown here:

Step 2: To configure Windows to use a Normal startup state

After you have used the boot is a way to solve your problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    a. Click Start and then click Run.

    b. type msconfig and click OK. The System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

    c. click on the general tab, click Normal Startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.

    d. When you are prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.

Method 2: Use the (SFC) System File Checker tool.

SFC system gives an administrator the ability to scan the files all protected to check their versions. If the System File Checker detects that a protected file has been replaced, it retrieves the correct version of the file in the folder cache (% Systemroot%\System32\Dllcache) or the Windows installation source files and then replaces the incorrect file. System File Checker verifies and repopulates the cache folder also. You must be logged in as an administrator or as a member of the Administrators group to run the System File Checker.

Description of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 System File Checker (Sfc.exe)

Hope this information helps. Please reply back with the State so that we can help you.

    Hello

    ·        You're able to boot in safe mode?

    ·        Remember to make changes to the system?

    Method 1:

    Hello Sayiwont65,

Thanks for posting of Microsoft Answers!

It appears from the description of your problem, you receive a that,"windows\system32\qcapk.dll error' could not load.

I searched this dll file name and couldn't find any reference to it.

This is the case, looks like it was caused by malicious software.  Please take a look at this thread that was answered by JoseIbarra.

  • Computer Dell laptop/windows xp, got virus.tried to fix. BAD IDEA. ERROR: DLL msgina.dll UI winlogon.exe - bad image.logon failed to load.

Computer Dell laptop of my husband has a virus that wants you to install a fake security program. I tried to fix it. OOPS. I tried to choose an earlier date to restore your computer to and I got zapped, crashed and burned. Error is now: winlogon.exe - bad image then the msgina.dll login user interface DLL failed to load, contact admin to replace the dll or restore the original dll. I don't have a boot cd. Is there a way of "back door" to get his computer works again?

As you know now, do a restore of the system on a severely infected machine is not a good thing. Better to save the data and do a clean installation of Windows. You can try to do it yourself, but based on your post, which I would not recommend it. I don't mean to hurt your feelings, just to be practical. It would be better to take the machine to a competent local tech (not a type of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad of the place).

If you really want to try it yourself, here's what you need to do:

    1. start the computer with Linux Livecd such as Knoppix. You are using Linux, copy the data files on an external hard drive.
    2. install Windows using the XP Dell installation CD.
    3. install all the drivers for Dell. Use the Dell Resource CD or get the drivers from the Dell advance website.
    4. switch to XP Service Pack 3 and do all the Windows updates.
    5. install a good antivirus - NOD32 (commercial), Avast or Avira (both have free versions).
    6. install all other desired programs, updated if necessary (especially if you have MS Office).
    7. analyze data saved with the antivirus before you copy it to the new clean install. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

    Hello

Google has little information about this file, so it's probably a Malware startup more entry left which has been removed from your security programs.
