Thank you trevor

What happened when you used the system restore?

Sometimes the system restore will not work due
conflicts with other software... (usually a virus
    Scanner).

The best would be to run the system restore of
    Safe mode.

Possibly, you have several programs wanting to use your audio device at the same time or more than one audio device installed...

    Several things to try:

    (1) make sure that you have no other open software other than the one you want to play.

    (2) do you have embedded sound or a sound card? If this last, go into the BIOS at startup to the top and make sure that your sound edge is off

    3) update your audio device drivers

    (4) download the latest set of XP drivers froom, website of the manufacturer of your PC, or your sound device manufacturer's Web site. The completely remove/uninstall all software connected to your audio device, restart, and install your download.

    Re-post if nothing happens.

    See you soon,.

  • NO sound when recording Audio - problems with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

I got in trouble for almost a year now with NO sound when recording Audio with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I just found this forum today. It's really weird how recording with windows and other sound recorder works perfectly since 1998 or so until the upgrade to win 7. Now every time I try to record it shows no found recording device or just fails to record any sound. As you'll see below I have activated What U Hear so I can use the system recording features sounds.

I use the functions of audio recording and pdf reader because I'm legally blind. It is one of the few tools that I could use with ease on all my systems windows for many years.

A similar question has started happening with nvidia graphics cards. AND... I was led to believe that it was a problem with Sony wanting more strong piracy measures built into windows. Am I correct to assume that this is what is happening with the sound also today or is there a solution to this frustrating problem?

I run a dxdiag & posted that, according to me, you asked another user on the forum, the same or similar problem.

Help solve this problem would be greatly appreciated as this has been a problem for quite a while now.

  • Audio problem with Dell Latitude E6420 and Windows 8.1

    Hello community,

I installed Windows 8.1 on my Latitude E6420 and I can get the sound to work. I installed the drivers available for Windows 8, but he doesn't play any sounds. The only thing that works continuously via a browser (e.g. youtube). When I test the device "speakers / headphones ' this is for me a"Failed to play test sound."but the"helmet of communication"device works without any problem.

I can not activate the device "speakers / headphones" because it blocks other applications (Lync 2013) so I have to keep this option disabled.

I look on the web for similar problems and it all points to the drivers for the video card (!)

Is there a version of driver for this model? Or I can not use the latest version of the software in this model?

Hello. See here for a list of Dell of the models that work with 8 and 8.1. Dell recommends not installing 8.1 on the Latitude E6420 model. Dell said 8 is correct but does not provide an audio driver IDT even for 8. I don't think that there will be provided by any Dell IDT audio driver for 8.1 since it is not recommended to install. This means that you must use the native audio driver supplied with Windows. The native driver is generic and you can usually get audio to work when using it but not all functions are working properly. All I can suggest is to find the generic audio driver in Device Manager (I don't know how it is in the list) and try to 'update' by allowing Windows to search for an update on the internet.

Maybe someone at our Windows 8 jury can suggest an audio driver IDT, you can try to use. If you post here tell them that you already posted on the Audio card to the laptop so that they will not move your message here.

Only one of these two was may (the other early April) and that crash was linked to the corruption of memory.  In order to remove the RAM and find the faulty driver please run these two tests.

    * Don't forget to download any other DMP files (especially those running auditor)

    * If you are overclocking reset all default before running these tests.
In other words STOP!   If you don't know what it means that you're probably not

    1 - Memtest.
    * Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. http://www.memtest.org
    * Boot from the CD and let it run at least 5 or 6 passes.
    * Don't forget, anytime Memtest reports errors, it can be bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.
    * Test the sticks individually and if you find a good, test it in all slots.

Any error is indicative of a memory problem.
If a well-known stick fails in a slot of motherboard, it's probably the slot.

    2. Driver Verifier

Using Driver Verifier is a dubious proposition. Most of the time it will crash and it will tell you what is the driver.

    * But sometimes it will crash and will not tell you the driver.
    * At other times it will crash until you can connect to Windows. If you can't mode without failure, then you will have to resort to editing the registry offline to disable driver verifier.
    * I would suggest that you first back up your data and make sure that you have access to another computer so you can contact us in case of problems.
    * Then do a system restore point (so you can restore the system using the functionality of Vista/Win7 Startup Repair).

    Here is the procedure:

-Go to start and type "auditor" (without the quotes) and press enter
-Select 'Create a custom settings (for code developers)' and click 'Next '.
-Select "Select individual settings from the list complete" and click "Next".
-Select the entire document except for "Low resource Simulation" and click "next".
-Select "Select driver names from a list", then click "next".
    * Select all drivers that are NOT supplied by Microsoft and click on "Next".
-On the next page, select "Finish".
    * Restart the system and wait as he crashed to blue screen.

    * Continue to use your system normally and if you know what are the causes of the crash, do it several times. The objective here is to get the system crash because Driver Verifier is stressing out the drivers. If it is not planted for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation.
    * If you are unable to Windows because it crashes too early, try safe mode.
    * If you can't mode without fail, try to use the system from the installation DVD restore to bring the system back to the previous point of restoration that you created.

The first time I turned on, I got the message "Media Audit: fail", "check the media: fail"... that sounds like a potential problem... but I thought that nothing of him, like the laptop always worked. Hi Andy,.

My apologies for an unpleasant experience with the new laptop. Please share the exact system model as it exists several model available for Dell Inspiron 15R and operating system installed. Also, run the system diagnostics to confirm the operation of the equipment. Here are the steps:

    • Restart the system and immediately start typing on the "F12" key to enter the "Boot Menu".
    • Press the "Down arrow" to select the option 'Diagnostics '. Press the enter"" key.
    • The diagnostics begin. Please note the exact error message / code, if everything appears on the screen.

  • Problems with porting boost::regex when ranging from CS6 to CC2014 using Xcode

I have a job in CS6 project which uses the framework boost::regex I have porting problems in CC2014.

I wore this project using Dolly to create a new project, and then face the old files source overall, finally update the output of various dated calls to API InDesign that appeared when I compiled. For the use of regular expressions, I added the debug and release builds of the boost_regex.framework to the respective targets.

Now, for the version new projects of CC2014 debug builds with happiness. But when I switch to the Release version I get some errors from the linker. They all have something like:

    Undefined symbols for x86_64 architecture:

    'boost::re_detail::get_mem_block()', referenced from:

    Boost::re_details:perl_matcher < __gnu_cxx::__normal_iterator < const char *, std::string >, std::allocator < boost::sub_match < __gnu_cxx::__normal_iterator < const char *, std::string > > >, < char, < char > boost::cpp_regex_traits > boost::regex:regex_traits >: find_imp() in SbRegex.o

    etc.

I did a bit of reading through the impetus of header files. The strange thing is that the 'get_mem_block()' seems to be set for option pre processor BOOST_REGEX_NON_RECURSIVE, while in the project contains parameters for BOOST_PREPROCESSOR_DEFINITIONS BOOST_REGEX_RECURSIVE. These two parameters are mutually exclusive, and it is logical to preprocessor that blocks with both cases, defined both.

This recursive option is used to control the use of memory when processing a regular expression, then see a call get_mem_block() (other errors of link imply a call to put_mem_block) somehow made sense being called that look like something to do with memory.

I'm trying to understand why the debug builds, but Release version fails. This problem sound familiar to anyone? Anyone have any suggestions to try to fix it?

Figured out how to build the project when you add the framework for regular expression of thrust.

The key is the optimization level. When Dolly creates a project it defines the level of optimization for the Release version of "-O3". When you use boost::regex, you can only link correctly if you use the O0 and O1 optimization levels. Highest and link errors I saw appear.

For the Release version, so I put in the Release_Cocoa64 build parameters 'Optimization level' to ' Fast [-O, O1] ' and it compiles.

  • Problem setting CalcLockBlock

I get the error message "calc Dynamics processor can not allocate more than blocks [2] heap." Please increase the CalcLockBlock setting and then try again." I know not where I would increase this setting, how much, and what are the implications.

It must be when I try to convert a different currency my base for about 1,000 members currency account, with each account being translated to a beginning balance and ending balance F / X each month. When the Member of the currency, I drop the dynamic calc, I lose the error message, but I am unable to run a script to calc fixation on this member because it technically gives me the same error message
"Error: Dynamics Processor Calc 1012704 fails to more environmentally sound management blocks [2] for the calculation, please increase the CalcLockBlock setting, and then try again (a small data cache setting can also cause this problem, check the size of data cache setting)."

    Thoughts?

    Thank you
    Mark

I bet it's the data cache as directed by your second error message. Otherwise, it is the dynamic cache calc.

    See: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/esb_dbag/dstcache.htm#dstcache1028852

You can do a State of brain death (or is it simple) test cela by nailing a zero on the existing cache sizes (I would try first the data cache), then in restarting the Essbase db so that he could take.

For this purpose in environmental assessments do a right-click on the db, by selecting Edit-> properties and then by changing the values in the hidden tab.

    Kind regards
