Failure of memory T7500 to DIMM3

Hello

I decided to upgrade the memory on my 8 GB (two 4 GB sticks) T7500 to 24GB (8 GB 3 branches). They are DDR3-1333 registered ECC (and have been previously installed on a T610 server), tested and known-to-be-work and good.
As the documentation says that I've populated DIMM2 DIMM1 and DIMM3 but everytime when I boot, I see the message:

The attention! Failure of memory detected in DIMM3!

If I type F1 the system starts fine and everything is good.

I ran the Windows Memory Test system diagnostics, etc. - everything seems fine.
I have 4 of these sticks and just in case where settles all the around in the slots - no change - still the message about DIMM3. And yet the memory seems to work perfectly.

I even put the 4th stick there - currently with 32 GB - everything seems to work fine, but I still get this message.

So my question - is this due to an upgrade of the BIOS/downgrade as I do?
My current BIOS version is A14 (which is the last appearing on downloads) and the processor X 5570 (5500 old series and not the new 5600).

Well enough I hope for a software solution such that the system is no longer under warranty and I would very much have not the case, as in the comments: http://reviews.dell.com/2341n/precision-t5500/dell-precision-t5500-reviews/reviews.htm?sort=rank

Any help or suggestion would be appreciated!
Thank you

p.s. I would be happy even with a workaround where I get the message, but he keeps the system startup.

I know this is an old post but how I solved the same problem '2-3-4 lights on' is to make sure the 2nd riser is in fact all the way. After I loaded the rise on the plateau, move the handle to the closed position, I realized it does not involve all the way to the Board of Directors and one did the trick. Hope this helps someone out there.

  • Pavilion dv6: failure of memory, help!

    Hello world

    I had some memory problems lately, including many blue screens with 'MEMORY MANAGEMENT' listed as the problem. I ran a test of memory by pressing F10 at startup for the area of memory and the test failed in about 2 seconds after the start. I got the following information:

    Failure ID: RGFTMU-5MN7K3-MFP556-406903

    Product ID: LW260UAR #ABA

    According to me, one of my chips of memory is damaged, but I do not know how to access physically to replace. Help, please!

    It's 2 GB 1333 MHZ PC3 - 10600 DDR3 SDRAM SODIMM

    You can replace it with a 4 gig of same type and speed. East - another module the same? The only thing you lose by mixing module sizes is operation "dual channel" which is a bit faster and lose would be a compromise to have more RAM.

    It would be a like kind replacement:

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/like/231033893993?lpid=82&CHN=PS

    That would be an upgrade to a 4 GB module.

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/4GB-DDR3-1333-MHz-PC3-10600-single-stick-SODIMM-laptop-notebook-RAM-memory-204p-/361150227991?PT=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item54163b2617

    You don't want to try to stay with the same density memory; that is 4 blocks on one side. It's a little unusual for HP high density (4 blocks) RAM in their laptops, it is usually 8 block or low density. That's why I'm asking if the other module is the same.

  • CVI8.5 crashes with failure 'insufficient memory' after compilation

    Hello

    I used the 8.5 CVI to compile my project in debug mode.

    Before the last my latest changes short I could run the project without any problems.

    Now after beeing ready with the compilation nothing happens for awhile, then ICB crashes and an 'insufficient memory' message appears, sometimes a "a reminder of custom control triggered an exception" message.

    I noticed that in the moment just before the output of cams message memory the size of memory used virual windows goes suddenly to 2.86 GB.

    The pc has 2 GB of physical memory and 6 GB of virtual memory, at the same time is available free memory.

    If I change the debug to zero level, the software is functioning normally, so I think that there is no failure in the code.

    What is the problem?

    Hello JR,.

    Thanks for your message, you're totally right!

    After that I added a few features the problem had disappeared.

    The failure seems to be fixed in CVI 9.0, because the project has worked without adding features.

    I tried with different keyword in the forum, but I have not found this answer.

    Maybe it was the problem in finding that the theme of the threat has nothing to do with my problem.

    Thank you

    Hi Trevor,

    Thank you for the presentation of your test program. I was able to reproduce the 'out of memory' you were see and so I investigated this problem first. I'll try to tackle the problem of the acquisition of data/timer tomorrow.

    I confirm that this is a bug in CVI which was previously unknown - and which has been around for a long time, without being detected. The conditions that cause this bug manifest itself are extremely rare, but you were still 'chance' to replicate. Fortunately, there's a pretty easy fix that you can do which should make these conditions disappear.

    The problem occurs when, at some point during the connection phase, an internal memory allocation is requested for a list of the imported symbols, if the list size is between symbols 8187 and 8189. In the case of your project, it happened to be 8188. This list includes all the symbols that your project defines and also imports from all libraries (including the CVI libraries) associated with the project. It turns out when you added the new source file, the total came to be 8188. It depended entirely on what is in your project, of course, but also on the specific version of the CVI, you use.

    A workaround is to add some free in your source file functions, such as the total number of symbols will change. For example, I added the following code to myAsyncTimer.c, which was enough to no longer trigger the bug:

    void foo (Sub)
    {
    }
    foo1 Sub (Sub)
    {
    }
    foo2 Sub (Sub)
    {
    }
    void foo3 (void)
    {
    }
    void foo4 (void)
    {
    }
    void foo5 (void)
    {
    }

    I'm still sorry for the double trouble. I will then consider the other problem, and I'll let know you when I have more information.

  • HP Pavilion DV71-4100 Memory Module failure

    Hello

    My product is a HP Pavilion laptop as follows:

    Product: ww181av

    Model: DV71-4100

    Series: [personal information]

    My phone worked terribly slow and I thought I had a virus.  Analyses have shown that I have not.  I ran HP diagnostics and came with a memory Module failure with the following information:

    Failure ID: m89jxt-5A76KO(or 0)-xdOO(or 00) 2 k-4o(or 0) 2eO (or 0) 3

    Part ID: 181AV

    Sorry for the question O/0.  I don't know if this is o or zeros.

    Is it a simple part replacement (IE a chip memory) and if so can I order and install myself?  Or is it something I need to take to an HP repair center in THE West somewhere (assuming there is one)?  An idea of the cost?

    Thank you!

    [Personal information]

    Hello:

    You should be able to do the replacement yourself. This is a great do it yourself project for the first time.

    The first thing you need to do is to determine which module of memory is bad (if your laptop has two modules are installed, and many of them do).

    I use a very technical but very effective method to determine which.

    First remove the a/c and battery power (always do when you work inside the laptop).

    Remove one of the memory modules. I leave the battery, then plug the power of a/c.

    Turn on the PC. If it starts, and that you do not get the failure error memory then you were lucky and found the bad chip on the first try.

    If it does not start or if you get an error, turn off the PC, unplug the unit, remove the bad chip and replace it with the first one you removed. The PC should now start and run OK.

    So, now that you have found the bad chip, you must know how much GB is. Normally, it's on the sticker.

    Just buy the same chip memory size with the same characteristics.

    You need a DDR3 PC3-10600 memory module.

    If you let me know which module of memory of size you need (2 GB, 4 GB), I'll post a link to a site that sells the memory at low prices.

    Depending on which chip the size you need, replacement costs must not exceed $40,00.

    Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

    The memory of the removal and replacement procedures are given in Chapter 4.

  • DV7 (4073nr) memory upgrade problems...

    I've tried so my RAM from 4 GB to 8 GB.  I have a DV7 4073nr, and I just downloaded the latest update of the BIOS (F.29).  My system starts but I get intermittent BSOD.  Not funny.  I ran the system diagnostics and I get failures of memory in the memory Test option and the system developed, but it passes the test of the BIOS (F10) and all of the submissions are recognized by the BIOS and Windows.

    For all this, I don't think it's the memory...  I have two sets of sticks of 8 GB (2x4gb) where I worked with, Crucial and Kingston.  Two are speed 1333 (10600), and identical to the specifications proposed by the Crucial.com site.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance

    Well...

    I don't think I'm quite out of the woods yet.  Last night, I booted up and got a BSOD on trying to open Internet Explorer (v.9).  Rebooted my system and it worked without incident through the rest of the evening.

    Until I stop, I put Norton 360 to run its set of scans and tasks, a weekly process and let it run.  This morning, there is no other incident, but I can't help thinking that the system seems slow.

    I'll call this request closed for the moment.  I was thinking about an SSD as the next update, but now I'm reconsidering.

    Oh well, thanks for your help,.

  • Problems of memory on the Satellite L30-101

    I have a toshiba satellite l30-101 laptop and wanted to upgrade the RAM, so I bought 2 x 1 GB sticks to put in it.
    Now, I could not find all those at 533 mhz so I bought 2 667 mhz after a talk to a technical guy who said if I had 2 the same speed it will work very well.

    Only this isn't at all that I can put a stick and it works very well with the 533 mhz.
    The one I have in if I try to put the two sticks in it comes up with errors of memory and I get the bsod that restarts my computer and did not get my games or other programs.
    Is anyway to make sure I can have both new sticks in that I really need RAM and do not want to buy different ones.
    I mean if I can get another one we should probably work well work?

    Please help im crazy trying to solve this shit

    Hello

    I think that the speed of the memory has nothing to do with the BSOD!
    In my opinion the BSOD appears due to the failure of memory!

    In addition the L30-101 supports only the FSB 533 Mhz. In this case you will not be able to run the 667 Mhz modules of memory at full speed.
    The modules will run at 533 Mhz only!

    So in my opinion, you must replace the defective module with one that works very well!

  • Problem of memory HP Pavilion dv6-3208TX

    I would like to get advice for my laptop. A few days before my phone starts to become slow and it becomes too irritable to exploit. So, I did the Test of memory that failed with an ID of Menory failure in memory Slot 2. Therefore, I made a few trouble shooting mannual and removed 1 GB of RAM which has failed the Test of memory. Now my laptop runs on 2 GB of RAM only. However, it is slow, so I need to upgrade.

    But the problem is with the frequency as the old RAM installed runs 1067 Mhz(2GB) and that I walked on 1333 Mhz(4GB). So I would like to know what is it possible to simultaneously install the 1333 Mhz RAM with 1067 Mhz RAM.

    This is going to affect the speed or I will get a good speed?

    The name of RAM - Kingston - KTH - X3B / 4G (which is what I want to install instead of 1 GB)

    HP Pavilion dv6-3208TX laptop

    OS - Windows 7 Home Basic (64-bit)

    Product no.-LK364PA #ACJ

    Waiting for response.

    Now, don't confuse everything.

    The performance of your laptop will be positively increase if you switch from 2 GB to 6 GB or even 4 GB of RAM.

    According to the manual, 1333 MHz RAM should also work on your laptop, but it will work with a frequency of 1066 MHz RAM according to the manual.

    If the RAM you buy would work in your laptop - you have to really load and see, unless you go for the exact HP pay number in the manual, which you whatever it is, have not the possibility to buy them also that the part is not made now it seems that - in the store part.

    But you can try the Kingston RAM you mentioned, I think it'll work.

    I use Windows 7.  The laptop never completely loads windows.  The mouse is still usable, but nothing appears on the screen.  I ran the system diagnostics and got a startup and memory test failure.  Memory failure ID is U0FXJX5T7703-XD6V4K-407403.

    I tried to boot with recovery disks and get the same problem - Windows does not completely load.

    Hello

    If the error code 24 characters has been generated by the short drive Self Test (DST) this would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This corresponds also to the issue of marketing and the impossibility of reinstalling the OS.

    If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP (with the error code 24 characters) and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.

    If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

    If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

    If you are out of warranty and would like a guide to replacing the hard drive yourself, please let me know - include the full model number and the laptop Nr - see here for an explanation.
