Failure to restore system due to the "unknown error".

I have a HP laptop that came with Vista on it.

I tried a system restore, using more than 30 days and more recent than 30 days.

None of them do. I get a message saying something similar to, "the system restore cannot be completed due to unspecified errors. Your files have been changed not. »

My wireless connection has been extinguished, no disc in the drive, I have had no other programs running and no external device connected.

Why the restoration does not work?

Also, when I tried to use a MS support, he asked me my product ID number. I followed the instructions but I was told that it is an invalid number. WTF?

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

If necessary, do all the work Safe Mode with network.

 

To get into Safe Mode with network, press F8 at the Power On / boot and use key arrow upward to get into SafeMode with networking from the list of options, and then press ENTER.

    It is a very weird question. All of a sudden the line segment tool will not work. I'll use the tool once, but on the second line segment that I try to draw, "the plugin cannot complete due to an unknown error" error. I have to save my file, close it and reopen it before she (maybe) will allow me to draw a line (and repeat ad nauseam).     Is that error on this post code, IE something deleted, probably your antivirus or you.

    For problems to explore, which has nothing to do with this post, try this (which covers almost any problem).

    Explorer

    Explorer (explorer.exe) is the program that is the start menu and taskbar, windows folder and the office (which is a folder window).

     

    To see if a fix is available

    In Control Panel (and select Classic discovered in the left pane) select reports on the problems and Solutions (problem of type in the START search box), go to historical problem, right-click of your error and choose check for the Solution.

    You can also right-click and choose Details for more information. Post these details here. The name of the Module fault is important information.

    If the problem affects Panel press the Windows key + R and type wercon (or type it at a command prompt).

     

    Close the browser and start a command prompt

    • Close Windows Explorer
    • Start - All Programs - Accessories - right on command prompt and choose run as administrator.
    • Click Start. Ctrl + Shift + Right-click on an empty spot (just above the power of buttons is one place) then Exit Explorer.
    • Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete then Task Manager.
    • Control all processes to explore are closed. On the process tab select explore and right-click and choose end process, repeat if more of an Explorer in the list.

    Then to restart the Explorer after trying all of the following

    • Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and choose Task Manager
    • In the Task Manager, click the file menu and then click new task (run) and enter explorer
     

    If you cannot start the Explorer at all

    • Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and choose Task Manager
    • Under the processes tab, click Show processes from all users to elevate to administrator
    • In the Task Manager, click the file menu and then click new task (run) and type cmd
    • Other things you can try typing

    If you cannot start a folder window you can use the Browse button in the new task dialog. Don't forget that you must right click and choose Open rather than double-clicking.

    Although not my area of expertise (and you're welcome to ignore it and just after to the other forum), I did do research in any case and believe that the problem involves the corruption on your hard drive (although I could certainly be wrong - it is more likely to be the case if the full error message includes "drive cannot find sector requested" but you don't get the full error message, so I don't know). To try to fix it, if that is the problem, follow these steps:

    Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

    While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run. They tried to set itself to run at the next reboot. Answer Yes and restart to run the program. It will scan and attempt to resolve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a potential cause.

    If this does not work, test better clean your hard drive. To test your hard drive, check the manufacturer and try to diagnosis HD (http://www.carrona.org/hddiag.html) or this test: hard drive diagnostics tools and utilities (storage) - Corp of TACKtech (http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287). If it passes the tests, there's probably nothing wrong with it and you must do to the other support forum. If it fails, which include in your post on the other forum and let them advise you how to proceed.

    I hope that the above solves the problem. If this isn't the case, I am confident, they can help you in the other forum, because that's what they specialize in. It would help if you posted the message Word for Word that is accurate and complete, including all codes.     I'm really sorry to hear about your problem. What is the model of your WD external drive?
    There are several things you can try, just so that we understand what the question is exactly.

    1 / try to turn off the drive external HARD through 'Remove' and disconnection of the latter. Then reconnnect again. Sometimes a simple reset can solve the problem.

    2 / I also recommend you to see if you have latest firmware update.
    Firmware retains the basic instructions for the hardware devices that make the device. So this can solve the problem, once update you.

    3 / another thing: you can see the external drive in disk management tool and device?
