  For problems to explore, which has nothing to do with this post, try this (which covers almost any problem).

  Explorer

  Explorer (explorer.exe) is the program that is the start menu and taskbar, windows folder and the office (which is a folder window).

   

  To see if a fix is available

  In Control Panel (and select Classic discovered in the left pane) select reports on the problems and Solutions (problem of type in the START search box), go to historical problem, right-click of your error and choose check for the Solution.

  You can also right-click and choose Details for more information. Post these details here. The name of the Module fault is important information.

  If the problem affects Panel press the Windows key + R and type wercon (or type it at a command prompt).

   

  Close the browser and start a command prompt

  • Close Windows Explorer
  • Start - All Programs - Accessories - right on command prompt and choose run as administrator.

  Although not my area of expertise (and you're welcome to ignore it and just after to the other forum), I did do research in any case and believe that the problem involves the corruption on your hard drive (although I could certainly be wrong - it is more likely to be the case if the full error message includes "drive cannot find sector requested" but you don't get the full error message, so I don't know). To try to fix it, if that is the problem, follow these steps:

  Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

  While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run. They tried to set itself to run at the next reboot. Answer Yes and restart to run the program. It will scan and attempt to resolve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a potential cause.

  If this does not work, test better clean your hard drive. To test your hard drive, check the manufacturer and try to diagnosis HD (http://www.carrona.org/hddiag.html) or this test: hard drive diagnostics tools and utilities (storage) - Corp of TACKtech (http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287). If it passes the tests, there's probably nothing wrong with it and you must do to the other support forum. If it fails, which include in your post on the other forum and let them advise you how to proceed.

  I hope that the above solves the problem. If this isn't the case, I am confident, they can help you in the other forum, because that's what they specialize in. It would help if you posted the message Word for Word that is accurate and complete, including all codes. • Back up the failure of the operation due to the IO error

  I have a Western Digital external hard drive that I want to return to the top of my files to a laptop that runs Windows 7 Professional SP 1.  Whenever I try to make a return to the top, it fails and the operating system generates an i/o error.  I also have a laptop running Windows 8.1 and the back ups in the same external data source are running correctly.  How can I fix the back-up failures in Windows 7?

  There are several things you can try, just so that we understand what the question is exactly.

  1 / try to turn off the drive external HARD through 'Remove' and disconnection of the latter. Then reconnnect again. Sometimes a simple reset can solve the problem.

  2 / I also recommend you to see if you have latest firmware update.
  Firmware retains the basic instructions for the hardware devices that make the device. So this can solve the problem, once update you.

  3 / another thing: you can see the external drive in disk management tool and device?
