Fake adapter?

I own a X 220 and the connection of the charger has recently started cutting. I ordered a new charger on Amazon and received today. The charger is not sold by Amazon, but enforcement has been accomplished by them so I assumed it was a good bet to be real. Unfortunately, I think it's a fake. I have attached a photo of the label. The Velcro is also black, not gray.

Is anyone able to confirm its authenticity, or lack thereof?

This thing is definitely a fake. manufactrued for Lenovo? The FCC part rule also appears poorly printed.

  • USB to Serial Port Adapter

Hi, my laptop is not a serial port.

If I want to connect to some hardware using RS-232, RS-485, CANBUS etc, will I have problems using a serial USB adapter?

When I was programming PIC microcontrollers, we were told not to use adapters to program the PIC. I found this a little confusing because the signal from the adapter must be identical to what would come of a serial port. I don't know what is the reason.

Are there any known issues using a serial USB with hardware adapter (specifically the sbRIO-9651 reference carrier I use and also just in general) or I would be fine to use it?

I have a box of NI USB - 232 which will stop working.  Not sure if it's a loop of mass or something with signals through it, but... Yes, they didn't last real long in my experience.  (It was years ago, I sent a bunch of back, don't know if improvements have been made since that time.)

IOGear GUC-232 has and from SILabs CP2102/MAX3232 work well for me. never had a problem with those.  Anything FTDI is solid, beware fake chips with this manufacturer.

7Fh has a HID-UART chip available (CP2110), which works well on machines that have restricted permissions for driver installation.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC: replacement AC adapter

    Hello

Update: I found the AC adapter plug. Thank you...

I bought a HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC (used). The problem is that the AC adapter is overheating and battery (in Windows) information are constantly changing, "load" to "do not load"

I would buy a new power adapter (including the power cord), but I want to make sure I buy the right, because the one I have right now says spare part (the original owner could buy a fake). The battery is also marked as a spare.

Information on parts (those I have right now):

  • This computer has no announcement of uninstalled of configured wireless network adapter.

I recently installed a new hard drive and had therefore to install a new version of windows vista. So I installed vista, but could not get on the internet. Just the computer will not read the wireless router. I have another computer and obviously it still works. I used it to download an updated driver for the NIC on the computer I just loaded vista on and that has not worked. What can I do?

Make sure that if there is Wireless Utility a utility vendor is not running with the native Windows wireless utility.

Make sure you firewall No. preventing / blocks wireless components to join the network.

Above everything is OK and it connects to the wireless router. Log in from any computer which is, or can be connected to the router with a wire wireless, disable wireless security, make sure that the wireless streaming is enabled and try to connect with no. wireless security.

I really checked and configured every thing and it doesn't work.

Software firewall application that is not configured to allow local traffic (between the computer and the router is also a possible problem.

  • How to contact Microsoft to ask whether there is an updated driver for "Microsoft Virtual WiFi MiniPort adapter"

When I checked the driver on this issue, I found this is version 6.1.7600.16385, dated 21/06/2006.After do a search, he started to download a replacement driver, but as it was not signed I cancelled the download. Then advised to contact Microsoft, which gave the pilot current, to see if there is a subsequent update. My system is Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1, 64-bit on a Toshiba laptop.

I do not pretend that you are worrying.  This is just the beginning post of this thread 'read' other posts from other users who have problems caused by those "fake" like most people 'all in one' driver updating software.  These never really find good "signed" drivers because there are "hundreds" of sites that can "host" similar named driver packages.  These packages can be 'false' or completely "valid" but usually "never verified."   Microsoft "allows us" to use their software and they officially publish the signed drivers on the Windows Update site.

As a general rule, always get the driver on the web site of the official "publishers' support.  Anywhere else, 'we' need to be 'worried' about 'integrity' of the person who posted the package update driver.

Microsoft Virtual WiFi MiniPort Adapter is a driver that Microsoft seems to use so 'of interface' with wireless network adapters.  It allow windows 'WLan' system to manage wireless network connections.

  • New AC adapter 65W 40Y7704 has 2 pin socket - is authentic?

Last week I bought a spare adapter 65 - part no 40Y7704 - and was surprised to find it came with a power of 2-pin cord (i.e. where it plugs into the power brick) rather than pin 3 "clover", one with my original (and other ThinkPads I've owned).

Is this true or maybe it's a fake? He was bought as a genuine part of Lenovo from a reputable site and seems convincing enough (form, labels, logos etc.) Although the seal came in a regular box without a Lenovo. Perhaps it's just a change in politics (it's a little harder to find the power cords clover 2 pin those IMO)?

My instinctive reaction, feeling is he may very well not be part lenovo authentic.

  • Fake call Tx detected with 160 seconds timeout

I just upgraded ESXi hosts to 6 5.5U2 8. 0 b (2809209).  The first host I have improved (a Dell R910) is fine for about a week and then died in the middle of the night Sunday night.  Came to him hung up, couldn't SSH to it, does not respond on the console and was shown as disconnected in vCenter, all virtual machines on it had HA'ed to other hosts.  Should be able to turn off that through iDrac and he came fine.  The syslog feature stopped 9 minutes before the events in vCenter showing he's going down, so I couldn't check the newspaper to see what happened before he went down.  Writing chalked up an anomaly and put back into production.  Less than 24 hours later, woke to pages of our monitoring system of virtual machines on the same host.  These virtual machines are inaccessible.  The host was always sensitive and marked as upward in vCenter.  Cannot open consoles for any of the virtual machines on this host.  Was able to SSH in the host and it was in the vmkernel.log:

These repeated again and again many times per second.  The host locked again shortly after and had to be restarted to force the VMs system HA to other hosts.

The vmnic4 and vmnic5 are ports on the same Intel NETWORK adapter X 520-2 (two ports), Intel, not the re-brand of Dell version version.  We have two of these network adapters in each host with the ports of the other card of the NETWORK being vmnic6 and vmnic7.  vmnic4 and vmnic6 go to our network local, vmnic5 and 7 go to our iSCSI network.  These cards use the IGB driver (ethtool reports 3.21.6iov * last * with firmware version 0x61c10001).  TSO and LRO are off due to problems that we already had.  I spent yesterday upgrading all the firmware on the host of problem but the Intel X 520 - 2 does not appear to be newer firmware that I can find, even if Dell seems to have a version for it which does not apply to these network cards Intel version.

The host of problem is currently in production with a very low charge on it for more than 24 hours so far and I am increasing the load on a regular basis to see if it eventually bombs again.

Googling "Fake Tx crash detected" results in a lot of older hits, mostly from the Linux IGB problems associated with pilots.  Nothing to really related to VMware.  And nothing that seems relevant.

Any ideas?  Find it me hard to believe that the NIC itself suddenly has gone wrong that this host has been with us for years without problems until we went to 6. 0b.  I have an another R910 which was bought at the same time that I'm tired of the upgrade that I can't have two hosts having problems it would cause problems of capacity within our cluster.

Say that there is no work around and the only solution was to go down to 5.5U2 when I opened a SR with VMware, I discovered other ways there is a workaround script that seems to change the management of interruptions of CPU from automatic to manual, which is supposed to be the cause of this problem.  Why VMware is distributing this script to some people and not others that I don't know, I hope it was just the tech who worked my case not having is no knowledge of the script of the workaround at the time said.

EDIT: I should add that since the purpose of this script to our guests, we have not seen the problem still happen when I had three accidents in the first week.  /knockonwood

Keep the username blank password in the configuration of the machine profile has solved the problem.

  • How to add a VMXNET3 adapter

I'm exploring the PowerCLI help file and cannot find the VMXNET3 setting.

    Type

e1000, Flexible, Vmxnet, EnhancedVmxnet. If the parameter is not specified, the

network adapter is created of the type recommended by VMware for the particular person

    Please help me on this...
    Thank you
    PM

Caused by javax.resource.spi.InvalidPropertyException: double Exception of property values.
The properties [xADataSourceName] and [dataSourceName (both in the connector properties)] is not both can be [JDBCEmployee].

I think the mistake is quite obvious. In pool (DBAdapter) connections, you must set xADataSourceName (for XA data sources) or dataSourceName (for non - XA data sources) but NOT both. Disable any of these properties and redeploy/upgrade the DBAdapter after you made the change.

  • Fake H710p PERC? -Firmware upgrade error

    Hallo,

I recently bought a DELL PERC's H710p to the address but I can't update the firmware or install the driver. I always get an error like:
    "No controllers present or detected."

First I thought that this is because the PERC H710p is not supported on a DELL R710 server. But after some research, I found something weird.

The reason why the update of the firmware fails is simply the fact, that the "SUBDEV = 1f38" required when updating cannot be fond. My 'H710p' has a different SUBDEV. His SUBDEV is 1f77. So my question is, I bought some controller "false"?

If this is not a 'fake' controller, what should I do to update my H710p and how to install the drivers?

    Thank you

Controllers H710 series have been tested and validated in the Dell only 12 servers (such as the PE 720) generation.   Further, check your H710p came from a Precision Workstation.  The following valid this information, which came from the file nocheck.bat for this controller:

    OFF @Echo
    CLS

    put the FW = 21.0.2 - 0002
    Set ROM = H710PAWS.rom
    SUBDEV = 1f77 set
    DOS32A = set / AC /NOWARN:9004

You will need this patch: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/driverdetails?driverid=CGM2K which is the latest available for this particular controller.

The controller may or may not work in your PE710, it just has not been tested or validated.  Good luck!
