Fast expert assistance needs - cannot start

Yesterday, after my sister played with my ideapad z460 and put it in Standby Mode. I had nothing to do... Not noticing flashing lights I dissambled it (just for fun), I cleaned the fan on the side of the dust.
I went too far and... Came out of the ram to clean the under it.
When I put phone back once again, the lights worked and the fan also (just more fast than usual, maybe because I cleaned it) but the screen remains blank for about 2 hours now. I put it under an air Conditioner so it does not burn

But the problen is that the screen does not show anything. I took the battery and rebooted but nothing shows up again.

Send in for repair, it's what I would say.

Please note:, in case your laptop was in warranty.

It can no longer be

Hope it gets fixed...

  • Cannot start HP Support Assistant,

Cannot start HP Support Assistant - always get the message "HPSF.exe has stopped working" and need to close.  I have a HP TouchSmart 610 running under Windows 7 64-bit.  TouchSmart works not properly, but used to work.  Cannot start webcam either.  I totally lost to the search on the HP website for a solution.

The version that is in your Web page - and that I gave you to date is an update only.

    Rats.

Search your Recovery Manager for the original software:

    • Start > search / type "Recovery Manager" > click here to open the program
    • You want "Immediate aid" and search for "reinstall drivers and Applications.
    • Wait for the list to build...
    • Search for HP Support Assistant - version, of what I can extrapolate from what I see now, should be a version 5.x - perhaps 5.1.x or 5.2.x
    • When you find HPSA, reinstall it.
    • Reboot the system after installation.

Assuming that installs it the software (from the Recovery Manager), you can then use

    sp54931 V6.1.12.1 HPSA Rev A

update the software and take advantage of the fixes contained in this package.

    ==================================================================================

I can't find the original HPSA to your exact system type.  I hope you find your software in your Recovery Manager.

I find the reference to the last update - 7.0.39.15 revision A

I heard that, in some systems, version 7.x has exposed problems (constant reboot requests).  This will be fixed by HP and it won't be long until the issue is resolved.  Your system may not even be affected - you can always try it later if the current problems are resolved.

If the original HPSA software is not in the Recovery Manager, it can be elsewhere in your system...

    Let me know.

If all else fails, we could try HPSA for a similar system of TouchSmart - the worst it will do is not installed.

Restart the computer in safe mode. Some caches maintained by the system will be rebuilt.

Safe mode is much slower to start up as normal. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.

If you use no FileVault 2 in OS X 10.7 ("Lion") or later version, you can restart as usual (not in safe mode) when the login screen appears. There is no need to log on in safe mode.

If you use FileVault 2 in OS X 10.11 ("El Capitan") or later version, or if you don't know if use you it, you as usual then connect in safe mode, and then restart (not in safe mode.)

If you use FileVault 2 in OS X 10.9 ("Yosemite") or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you cannot start in safe mode. In this case, request further instructions.

  • Program cannot start because wlidcli.dll is missing. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

I'm trying to set up parental controls for my son.  I get this error at all times and must go to the process in the Task Manager to get the message to stop appearing.  I installed twice things of all Live essentials - all of them even if I don't want or need all - and still get this error message.

When I go to the website of parental controls and select WLFS in the box for additional controls and then click user account from my son a pop-up message appears and disappears so fast, that I do not see what is the error message.

    How can I fix it?

    Thank you

Original title: program cannot start because wlidcli.dll is missing.  Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

    Hello

It is possible that you setup parental controls are corrupt. To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

    1. Uninstall Essentials by using the CMD line parameter. Please follow the steps in this link:

    Hi reefwatcher,

    1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    2. You are able to use the webcam on other applications?
    3. You receive an error message?

    Method 1

To check if a program is installed on the computer interferes with the software, I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    Method 2

If fails it above step, try uninstalling and then reinstalling the program, check to see if it helps.

  • CD Player cannot start (Code 10)

I bought this laptop with Vista 16 months ago. Today I bought MS Office to add (I mainly used as an Internet tool so far). Today, I find that the shiny new Microsoft Office CD does not load.
I have noticed that only discs showing on the screen 'Computer' Vista (C) and system (S) - not others.
I assumed that I had to restart the CD player (he used to work - it's listed as Slimtype DVDRW SSW - 8015-S ATA Device) via Device Manager. However it gives me Code 10 (cannot start) and when I click on "Driver", then "Update driver", it tells me that the driver is up-to-date.
Restoring proposed in one of the threads option is grayed out, I guess because the driver has never been updated.
I am displeased with some of the solutions machine code I find here in Earth & support - I am in no way focused on technology and I would be very uncomfortable on the new codes by typing in a box of blinking cursor. Surely, there is an official download available now - this issue seems to have been around for more than 18 months? My hour and a half reading the forums, the fault is clearly caused by something in the MS Update system, rather than users.
I don't want to pay someone to fix a computer where I paid Microsoft for Vista, just pay a small fortune for MS Office and then find there is a continuous problem caused by Microsoft software.
Please can someone provide a simple solution to the problem of loading of Office on a Vista laptop when the computer stopped to recognize its own built in CD/DVD drive?
    Thank you

  • Audio Device ADS Instant HDTV PCI cannot start (Code 10)

I have a Toshiba computer installed with Windows Vista Home Basic and it worked well until 2 months ago. It was cracked sound coming out of my speakers and so I went before the restart. Yet, when I restarted, I saw a red cross next to the sound icon and the bottom of the screen (bar). I tried asking for help and made the instructions given by the assistance & > troubleshooting > tips for solving common audio problems > I hear sound from my computer. It did not work. I just shut down my computer to a disappointment, and when I turned it on again a few days later, it worked! And the next day it failed. Until he was operating and once on Board again. Until the day, don't worry too much. I restarted my computer will stay virtually from 20 to 30 times, until I really got to work. It worked a few days also. I failed. Sometimes, the Red Cross does not appear, and he showed that it was scientifically, but it was not. I couldn't increase the volume, or pull it down. He worked these last days until today, it hasn't made me very annoyed.

    Any advice?

    Hello i-Caramel,

Thank you for visiting the website of Microsoft Windows Vista Community.

Try the rest of the stage in this article:

System restore points are created automatically when the following occur:

    • When you install a new application or driver.
    • When you uninstall or install some programs.
    • When you install new updates
    • Automatically on a daily interval
    • Manually by creating a.
    • If you choose to use system restore to restore to a previous restore point, System Restore creates a new restore point before you restore a previous state in case something goes wrong. If you are restoring to a previous state in Mode without failure, a restore point will create for the current state.

So that the restoration of the system to work, you must have 300 MB of free space for each hard disk that monitors the system restore. System Restore will also use up to 15% of disk space on each disk that it monitors. That hard disk space runs out, older restore points will be deleted as newer ones. It is also important to note that you must be logged in as an administrator in order to use the system restore. Now that you understand the basics of the system restore, you must continue to the next section to learn how to use it.

Restore Windows Vista to a previous state

In the case of a problem on your computer that cannot be solved by normal means, you can restore your computer to a previous working state. To do this, you need to start restoring the system so that you can choose the restore point to restore. If you currently have Windows Vista boot problems, you can use the system restore in Windows recovery environment. Instructions on how to do it in this tutorial can be found: System Restore using the Windows Vista recovery environment.

If you can connect to Windows Vista, you must follow these steps.

    1. Close and save any documents that you have opened.
    2. Click the Start button to open your Start Menu. The Start button looks like this:
    3. When the Start Menu open click on the menu option all programs.
    4. Click once on the Start Menu Accessories group.
    5. Click once on the System Tools Start Menu group.
    6. Click once on the icon of the system restore. After you click the icon, if a user account control window opens, click on the button continue.

You will now be on the screen as shown below in Figure 1 system restore. From this screen, you can specify the restore point that you want to restore.

    1 screen of system restore

By default, Vista will be already selected the restore recommended option. This restore point is one followed a new pilot program, or update has been installed. If you do not want to use this restore point, you can click on the button next to start the restore process. On the other hand, if there is a more recent restore point that you want to restore you should select choose a different restore point and press the next button. This will bring you to a screen, as shown in Figure 2, which contains a list of all available restore points that you can restore.

    2. the list of available restore points

You must select the restore point that you want to restore, and then press the button next to start the restore process. Vista will display a window showing your selected restore point and asking you to confirm that it is that you want to restore.

    3. confirm the selected restore point

If you want to select a different restore point, press the Back button. Otherwise, you can press the Cancel button to exit the system restore or the button finish to begin the restore process. If you have selected finish, Vista will display a second prompt asking you to confirm that you want to continue restoring.

    4. second Confirmation

If you are sure you want to restore, then press the Yes button. Vista will now log you off the computer and start the system restore process, as shown in Figure 5 below.

    5. restoration of a restore point

When the restore is complete, your computer will be restarted and when Vista starts it backup will be restored to its previous state. When you open a Vista session for the first time after the restore, you will see a message indicating that the restore was successful.

    6. system restore was successful

If there are problems with your computer because the last restoration, you can return to your previous settings to ebb in the system restore utility and select Undo system restore by pressing the next button.

7 undo the last system restore

Your computer should now work correctly again.

With the help of the restoration of the system in the Windows recovery environment

    Manual creation of Restore Points

As mentioned previously, it is also possible to create manual restore depending on points. Some popular designs to create manual restore points are when you have your computer configured perfectly and I would save the State in case of problems in the future. To create a manual restore point, you must follow these steps:

    1. Click the Start button to open your Start Menu. The Start button looks like this:
    2. Click on the control panel menu option.
    3. Click the option menu system and Maintenance.
    4. Click on the system menu option.
    5. Click on the System Protection in the list on the left.

You will now be at the System Protection tab in the system control panel. This tab allows you to enable and disable the system restore as well as making the new manual restore points.

    8. the System Protection tab

To create a manual restore point, you must click on the button create. When you press this button a prompt asking you to give a title to this manual restore point.

    9. Enter the manual restore point title

Type a title for the manual restore point and press the button create. Vista will now create a restore point manually and once finished, post a notice that it was created successfully.

    10. Manual restore point has been created

Now that you have finished doing the manual restore point, you can close the system window.

    This should solve your problem.

Let us know if these steps solve your problem.  I hope the information is useful.

    Kind regards

  • Why Windows cannot start the Firefox Service on Local computer?

    Hello, Tech Savvy people-

For some strange reason, the message in the title is what I get when I look under Services in administrative tools.
    I am told:
Windows could not start the Service of Firefox in the Local computer
Error3: the system does not have the selected path.

I did a full scan of my files (sfc/scannow) and my drive (chkdsk); completed a full virus
In addition, malware scan and all the so-called runs along fine.

But Firefox 12 needs several clickings of surface, and when it finally arrived, several minutes.
    Boring.

No idea why my local network or Local computer cannot start Firefox?
Can anyone suggest how I could get my system to find this path?

Firefox used to mount quickly enough, and my other browser, IE9 still does, even though I don't like
using IE and for about 3 years found Firefox generally to be a superior browser.
Feel a little miserable if I go back to IE.

Thank you for answering this aggravation.

  • Cannot start Windows on first boot (works after restart)

I recently removed the dust in the housing using a bellows, at the end of which I had unplugged and removed by the drive hard and video card. After reinserting the components and start the computer, I heard a continuous beep sound while the screen remains dark. After the reopening of the case I noticed that I forgot to plug a wire into the video card (PCI I think) I plugged. After you start the computer again once it wasn't a beep more and I got the video. However, Windows does not load on first boot more. He will go as far that the loading screen of the bar after which I get a 'no signal' and the computer restarts. I will get a screen with the message that Windows cannot start, probably due to software or change of material and a number of options. When I choose to start windows normally it will mostly start normally (sometimes I need to repeat the process) and I can use the computer normally (I use it now). A reboot, the computer has been shutdown very slowly and later wouldn't pass the default splash screen, but it has not reoccured.
Another small issue, I'll have is a regular of the screen flicker.

I used the drive control to the start of several times. I tried to address this problem by starting the computer with the Vista installation disc and select Repair, but I was not allowed to fix the menu says there where no problem. I reinstalled Windows (and I can't be fully updated all the drivers again, hance perhaps the flicker of the screen?), but to no avail. The closest thing I've met on the internet who resembled my problem was this: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=1006011905618 so, I replaced the BIOS battery, which once again changed nothing (BIOS holds settings BTW). In fact, once I'm on Windows I would seem to have a computer that works very well. The issue doesn't bother me so much if I wasn't worried, that it could get worse.

I have Vista 32 bit, Intel E6750 CPU, card mother Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3, Geforce 8800 GTS 320 MB video card, 2 GB of RAM, Samsung 400 GB HD Vista has been entirely updated (including SP2).

    Hi CeCoRM,

I suggest physically wipe you the hard drive again by blowing air earlier could have pushed the dust particles away on the inside.

I would recommend also you post your question in the TechNet forums for assistance.

    Hope the helps of information.

  • Network cards - "this device cannot start." (Code 10)

I recently bought a new video card and in order to make it work, I got my BIOS and motherboard software updated (v9 to v20, a huge leap that I've apparently updated in 2012). After the update my new graphics card worked perfectly, but I ran into a problem with my network card.

At the start, my internet connection is broken. When I access the Device Manager, it shows me that network cards, specifically my Intel 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection has an alert, and the message is: "this device cannot start. (Code 10) ». Now, if I reboot either OR I right-click on Intel 82579LM Gigabit network connection, and then select Properties > advanced > value and select "Automatic Detection" or "Force Master Mode" it resets and I have access to the internet (at least until the next time I turn on my PC and there is no need to repeat the process). If I try this again, it breaks and I need to restart.

I guess I have to reinstall my drivers and to this end, I visited the site Web of Gigabit and downloaded PROWinx64.exe (as I am running Windows 7 64 - bit). However, I am reluctant to run where it worsens the situation. So I thought that I check first with the experts and make sure that I took the right course of action.

I recently fixed this error. Now, he's saying,
"The program can't start because MF.dll is missing on your computer."

    I've tried EVERYTHING.
Download updates windows, reinstall (several times over a period of a long week.) and the package of refreshment, that NEVER ends and just said that it cannot continue. (He said it'll take 15 hours to install in the first place)

    Hello

    1. have you successfully install the update?

    2. are you able to connect to the desktop without any problem?

Was the message you saw before Windows starts, the system applying these updates. This is a normal procedure that Windows takes above all the critical updates are applied. If you were not able to start Windows, then we might have a problem with Windows update.
