Fault of updated for Powerpoint 2007

I have a question where Windows update guard trying to install an update for Powerpoint 2007 and failing. It is a failure because the app no longer exists. I think it was just bad timing that the update came through right all the time, that the app has been uninstalled. I tried the 'hide' but it is up to each reboot. I tried to delete the folder %WINDIR%\SoftwareDistribution\Download on the advice of some forum and thought that made the turn but nope.

Thank you!

    7. After the computer starts, start the program or game and see if the problem is resolved.

(Here is the article from the base of the boot process minimum - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796 - after troubleshooting is completed, use the steps listed in the knowledge base article to restore your system back to the normal mode).

    4. when your system is loaded into a clean boot - run an update at the same time in the folder that you downloaded on.
