FCP is really slow. No background running task. Ideas?
It would be great if you could give us some details about your system (OS and hardware... you are really under Leopard?), your version of Final Cut, where you store your media, free how much space you have available on all your storage devices, the type of media you use in your projects.
Also, what have you tried so far correct things?
Thank you.

Think about it an absolute must - manually update your drivers.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party

Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
each installation.Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as

Satellite Pro 2100 is really really slow running
I have a satellite pro 2100 I killed a friend.
He said his brother gave him and that he had no idea what was wrong because he didn't have a chance to watch it.I put windows xp pro top and used the bottom of the laptop pro license key.
but the laptop is really really slow.
It may take up to 5 minutes for nothing I click to open up.the strange thing is the laptop works fine in safe mode, can open things like I should.
but in normal windows mode, it slows down to a crawl and even crashes.
I have trie all to my knowledge.
I even uninstalled and turn off the graphics drive that I thought that he maybe, but he always does.I tried multiple copies different from xp pro and even tried a copy of vista, but still the same.
He had 2 different lots of tried in ram, 2 sticks was new aswel. I tried 3 different hard drives and still the same.
My thoughts are that the integrated graphics card is exhausted.
can anyone else confirm this? Certainly this isn't a software issue because I tried a few different copies of xp and vista. IM about to bin it now.
> anyone can confirm this?
Don t think someone could confirm everything that is related to a malfunction of the equipment.
Here in the forum, we can talk about problems and makers of disorders, but no one will be able to say with certainty what's going wrong here.First laptop computer is an oldie.
The Mobile Intel Pentium 4 CPU, isn t a up to date CPU and in my opinion, that don't expect too much performance.I put t know how this camera supports memory but everything below 1 GB of Ram would be good enough to the smooth running of the laptop.
However, given that the unit works much faster saving mode, I guess there must be a hardware related problem.

its really slow gains. I want to run faster and be more afficent
its really slow connection... It's just not as fast on foot beds like he used to be.
Select Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, cleaning disk to emptying your trash, delete temporary Internet files and other selected options. I recommend also you click Other Options, System Restore and delete all but the last system restore point. Run Disk Defragmenter.
Using the system restore option is most appropriate when your system is slow and you need to increase the free disk space on your C partition. If you have errors that could be solved by using the system restore to your system settings back to before the error occurred initially do not use this option.
If more than one person uses the computer and they have their own user log you need to run Disk Cleanup in each user profile that you want to delete all the unwanted files.
A better program of disk cleanup is cCleaner but note that cCleaner will not manage system restore points. Remove the old restore points can be important if you have little free disk space. cCleaner comes with a registry tool. Do not use this tool as any registry cleaner could lead to the creation of very difficult to resolve system errors.

Is there possible to see which are the background running processes in the system which is having Windows XP as operating system?
There is no resource manager (or resource monitor) in the XP Task Manager.
Please read these notes I send to the people who are (sometimes) concerned about the svchost.exe process number they see on their system or when it looks like one of their svchost.exe process has run amok. We can not all apply to your situation, but I don't want to type in a bunch of stuff once again. Then get Process Explorer and you will be able to be Omniscient:
To help understand your processes svchost.exe and what is running under them, read this article and you will be smarter than the average bear:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial129.htmlYou may be able to get clues with what is happening with your svchost.exe process using the Task Manager and maybe understand.
You will always be able to understand what is happening with your svchost.exe process if you use Process Explorer.
Download Process Explorer, so you can see what is 'really' running on your system, especially behind those svchosts several process see you in the running task manager.
Download Process Explorer from here:
http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/Sysinternals/bb896653.aspx
You'll like Process Explorer when you get the hang of it. Process Explorer is the Manager of Windows taskbar on steroids.
Process Explorer installs nothing so it won't slow down your system since it works only on request.
Process Explorer can seem a little intimidating at first because it has so much information, but you will begin to make love the way it works when you're looking for performance problems. You can even say EP you want it to be your new default 'Task Manager' value in the future. You can always run the original tasks as Manager.
Once you get Process Explorer running, expand the columns, made drag the corners of the screen for it's largest, etc., so you can see as much information as possible in the window. Now you can really see what is running on the system.
Here's a screenshot of my poor system when I use Process Explorer:
http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/2567/ProcessExplorer.PNG
The CPU column is usually the most interesting start with performance issues - which uses the most?
It is OK and normal to have several svchost exe processes running. Important XP Services are actually running under svchost.exe processes. There are sometimes an XP Service that runs under a svchost.exe process, sometimes there are several Services in XP, which runs under a svchost.exe process.
Sometimes malware will hide behind a svchost.exe process because the malware knows that you won't be able to find it in the Task Manager. He will hide behind a svchost.exe process to deceive you, but you can outsmart it.
Malicious software can disguise itself also seems to be a legitimate process of XP or he could hide under/behind other processes that you see running in Task Manager if you can't see the execution.
The malware would trick you into thinking you must use a System Restore Point, run a repair install or reinstall your XP from scratch when you really don't.
Looking at the display in process Explorer, you want the CPU most to be associated with the system idle process. It's 'free time' on your system, so more time there, more free.
If you look at the graphs of performance and see red spikes (or not) double click the graphic in the upper left corner to display the graph to use. Move the mouse over any pics to see what are the causes. Even if the Spike has already scroll screen, you can still move the mouse over the edge to see what caused. You can also just wait for a pic to happen and then see what caused the Spike.

I have Windows Vista 32-bit 2.4Ghs HP M91501, I had to reformat due to the error of hard disk. After formatting the PC, I went online to play or surf the internet is slow. I move fast and Lupe moves. I tried to highlight something and it takes up to 20 seconds before it highlites the message. When I try to play Call of duty online I play in slow motion. Called Charter they did a speed test shows speed 11 Mbit/s download and 1 Mbps of download speed. All the solutions to this important really appriciated your feed back...
I hope that Super Antispyware has given you the opportunity to remove those things. Since your initial Malware scan came clean, it is likely that located SuperAntispyware cookies only track, which are odious, but generally not a threat from System.
It is possible that you have apps which unknown to you, that run automatically in the background whenever you start your program. It is good to check if they are legitimate and necessary to launch when you start your PC.
Start button, click on you. In the run box, type: msconfig.exe
A System Configuration tool runs. Go to the Startup tab. You will find a list of applications that are set to run every time your PC starts. If you recognize all of them, use Google to help identify their purpose. Many times, you can open the application that is in question and prevent the application from starting. For example, on my system, I see that Java runs once more a verification tool to update each time you start. In this case, I can set my preferences Java Panel, select Java and uncheck automatically search for updates.
I also use OpenOffice and it wants to run a startup of service to reduce the time that openoffice requires to open. I don't really want something constantly running in the background to save me a few seconds to open the application. Then I go to Google to find out where the switch is to disable this "feature".
If you have unwanted applications running in the background, it is best to either uninstall, our to disable the option that allows them to run at startup. Although you could definitely "uncheck" the application through msconfig.exe, it is essentially a tool of troubleshoouting and not intended for the struggle of the apps (even if you do).
You can always uncheck/check again on this list to see their impact when you then restart your PC.
Once you have verified that apps that are set to start, you can run Windows Task Manager and scroll elements in the process and Services tabs to see what is running. The Services tab can be pretty intimidating to investigate on (there is a lot of misinformation the ' net), so if you are unsure about the services listed, it is best to ask or to jump on this area.

Since I got this Satellite L500 for 3 weeks it worked really slow.
Anyone know what I can do to speed it up, back to normal. Thanks leslie
Hi leslie113,
It is really difficult to talk about such things, because nobody knows how you have installed things and a lot of software can slow performance because they always running in the background.
The easiest way is if you defragment the HARD drive at any time and uninstall all of the software that you don't need more.
* Main * point is to use the * forum research *. You will find a large number of threads how to improve performance of Windows!
Check this box! -
My Satellite is really slow and takes about 10 minutes to open a session
Hello
My satellite phone is really slow and takes about 10 minutes to open a session. It also takes awhile to open up applications in particular the internet. Once the internet is open, it takes a while to access the net. The application actually drags across from the scene and it looks like a curtain closing additional idling.
Need help.
Concerning
RussHello
Have you checked the CPU usage rate?
Start the Task Manager and check if any strange background process needs the full CPU performance.I also recommend to check the laptop for some viruses and malware. These programs could make the laptop and the lazy BONE.
However the portable equipment could bad work.
You should check the memory using the Memtest86 program. It s freeware. Check the HARD drive for bad sectors and also try to defragment the HARD drive! -
What to do if the Ipad is really slow and unresponsive fast?
My ipad is really slow, not in response to normal speed and lose battery charge soon as usual!
CAN HELP SOMEONE, IT WILL BE APPRECIATED!
Thank you
Try to reset all the settings in the settings under general app and in the right column under restore.
Try stories reset and delete/reset the caches in all web browsers you use.
If you use Safari, these features may be in the application settings under Safari.
Other browsers have their settings inside the running application itself. If your iPad has been activated for iCloud, in the application settings under iCloud, to the right, under iCloud Drive, type in iCloud drive and make sure that Safari is off to save data from Safari to iCloud by car.
Also, under iCloud in the application settings, in iCloud Drive, turn the feature off saving for all other desired apps DO NOT the data automatically on iCloud drive.
If you are using Safari is always causing issues.
Try changing / using web browser third another, different.
I do not use iOS Safari too much more because I found it cause me headaches on some Web sites, regularly, to visit.
I commonly use another third party browser, perfect browser (there are others that can suit your style better web browsing, so look all first to see what third-party browser may work better for you) and I have never experience many questions that Safari was originally. In the application settings tab general, right under the spotlight sesrch, try disable the search under the applications who really don't need a research, as some games, remote controls, apps that are really useless to be searched, etc., in order to reduce the list to Spotlight search.
Try to turn the reduced movement.
This is found in the application of settings in the general tab, in the left panel.
In the right panel, look under accessibility, look to reduce the Motion and turn this feature "On".
You should see a significant performance increase on all models of iPad 2, 3 and 4.In the application settings under the general tab, in the right column, search background App update and enable this setting to "off".
If you find my phone turned on, you can try to disable in the application of parameters to changes in performance seemif.
Try a reset of your iPad by simultaneously pressing buttons Home and sleep/wake button until your iPad goes to the dark and restarts with the Apple logo, then release the buttons.
Good luck! -
Whenever I try to pull up a document or program in Microsoft Office, it is really slow. He struggles to save the documents and he also has a hard time to remove saved documents.
You can also check for infections with Malwarebytes free, go to the Task Manager and see if all the unwanted items running, for example updating programs (they normally check for latest drivers) similar to google updater. If you find, right click in the Task Manager, and then click end task.

Auto rigging is really slow on the Mixamo website. I rarely a rigging generate smoothly since Mixamo has been acquired by Adobe. I always use 1.3 fuse. I would use CC fuse to download, but the download seems to remain at 0%. I really hope that the Autorig does not go far, it helped me a lot in my career as an animation.
Questions Severral to address here:
- Fuse CC has a bug with the download bar that visually is stuck at 0%, but it is downloading in the background. You can just let it run a while and it's finally finished on its own. The bug has a fix in place who should come out with the next update to the CC Download Manager.
- Fuse rigging 1.3 should continue to work, but there is a bug that we are exploring that blocks some. Nothing of what you can really do for the moment that we just need time to focus on the issue.
- Auto-greeur will not go far.

Very slow start and run for Dell Inspiron 6400 XP times
"I have a problem with an Inspiron 6400 brought to ' horribly slow start and run time. XP Pro 32 bit SP3 patched up to date. Cleaned up a lot of "undesirable", as the partially uninstalled programs, cleaned the files temporary etc. with CCleaner, cleaned and optimized the registry afer all the cleaning has been done, defragmented, tried to start without any of the boot files, disabled all unnecessary services and uninstalled virus checking software, (but ran several anti-virus controls) etc. - no help. Safe Start Mode is faster, but... not at all normal - 1 1/2 minutes of screen to logon instead of close to 3 minutes. A lot of memory (2 GB), which rises to 600 to 700 MB runnng all the stuff I've tried. Hard drive is 1/3 used out of 120 GB with a 2 GB swap file.
One thing I'm still scratching my head over - beyond the horribly slow boot - is very slow access to files even though everything seems to work normally, but as molasses in January. Looking at the performance of the Task Manager tab when I run a copy of a file (whether via a cmd window or with Windows Explorer), I see a near max processor would be and the other with a small business. Even if the customer says he had been getting worse for some time, after checking and cleaning of all things 'normal', my next thought was perhaps a bad disk or disk controller driver, but chkdsk ran very well (although it took hours) even if I ' d I have already updated all drivers (and even the DVD firmware and BIOS) on the Dell web site. Oh, and I ran Dell Diagnostics (from bootable CD) updates all with no errors found. And access to the slow file even with symptoms had max-processor occur with a copy of the file on a USB key that seems to eliminiate the hard disk, the disk controller and the pilot.
The other interesting part of the display for a file copy task manager is that the processes tab simply shows System Idle 97 to 99%, with a percentage of casual for other processes as Explorer while I see 1 max out procesor on the performance tab. That the same copy on your desktop shows 3-4% of the CPU usage and who is with active antivirus software. I'm almost ready to fall toward a Windows reinstall, but would like to find the real reason behind this problem of puzzle...
It of almost as if he's using PIO instead of DMA disk access, but... don't know how/where to test this.
Look at:andSolved! Thanks for the links, especially to each other. An old but still a goodie!
For those who have enquring spirits (and anyone else who stumbles across this thread), the primary IDE controller has been set to PIO and locked it. Who would have thought that Windows slowly reduced the transfer speed, whenever he saw 6 errors on an IDE device until it has been reduced to PIO and then he locked it? But the procedures described in the link of winhlp.com showed how to solve the problem.
There are actually several problems that led to the final symptoms. According to KB817472, the Atapi.sys has been improved in XP SP2 only degrade the speed of transfer on 6 consecutive errors instead of 6 cumulative errors. And even though everything I have (Microsoft update) was seen and showed that this area was to SP3, I found that the driver for the controller layer IDE was the SP2 version. Someone ran sfc previously perhaps?
Oh, and I know now that the Task Manager process tab does not time processor kernal, but the performance tab. Good to know...
Thanks again to all who have responded. Starting at the time of connection-question now is 40 seconds. You'll love Untra DMA mode 5. There is still a lingering question in my mind, since I've had the same symptoms of slow copy of a file on a flash drive. Perhaps a link in some way to the way that Windows treats a flashdrive as a "drive"...
