• Laptop HP G62-b20SA - black screen

  Dear,

  I had the laptop HP G62 - B20 just over the years towing. He just started a new problem. While the PC is running, the tunrns of the screen itself off automatically and the laptop turns off automatically shortly after. The timing is variable, sometimes 1 hour, 45 minutes, 1 hour and 15 minutes 40mins etc. Very annoying. Once off automatically, I the VHE to manually restart the laptop.

  The types of events usually signals overheating.  The solution is to clean the inside of the laptop computer of dust requiring removal on the case (cover).  May make outside but not as effective.  If that intimidates the user can have a shop do it.  If cleaning does not resolve the problem, then it is already in the shop for repairs.

I provided you with a link to PC Compaq Presario CQ62 laptop and HP G62 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service of Guide, you will see at page 2, your computer will be supports up to 8 GB of memory dual channel DDR3 1333 HD SODIMM RAM in the following configurations:

  • 4096 MB (2048 MB X 2)
  • 3072 MB (1024 MB × 1 + 2048 MB × 1)
  • 2048 MB (2048 MB × 1)
  • 2048 MB (1024 MB X 2)

  You will notice on page 50 for different RAM part number if you want to buy if the HP parts store, as well as instructions on how to change your RAM.

• Error 90 b fan does not

  HI, My HP G62-b20SA suddenly stopped working and produces the error message 90 b and stopped.

  I took it apart and checked that this fan is operational by applying 5V to red and black wire to bench PSU.

  Could it be a virus, or a BIOS problem, or would it be the circuit driver fan?

  The 3rd wire (yellow) fan, I guess that is also a speed feedback - what tension should I see on that when the fan runs with 5V?

  Any ideas on whether she could be h/w or s/w would be welcome?  Thank you.

• hard drive failure. incomprehensible error code.

  HI: I have a no start hp G62-b20SA. The built-in diagnostics give me a failure code: GLQJK9-5LM681-9XLO3F-6OT303 and a product Id: XF390EA #ABU and 1 hard drive and a web URL.   What does this code mean?    I have been round and around the site, and nowhere can I find a box "enter your code of error here.    Can someon please explain what this means and what I can do about it.

  The error code will be a Smart failure or disk Self Test - in both cases, this would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.

  If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.

  I upgraded OS and installed the drivers. All the drivers are fine looking, except I get the error in the network and Communications PCI controllers controller driver. Can someone please help me get the correct drivers? For this reason, I am not able to connect to the wireless network.

  When trying to install motorola Ralink wireless driver adapter bluethoot, Iam getting error "Bluethoot material must be enabled before installing the driver for this" and attending Wireless it is showing people with disabilities and showing willnot be able to from here. However, blue LED on F12 is on and I couldn't find an option to turn on a wireless device in the BIOS. Not sure that these problems are related?

  I want to just enable the wifi networks. Help, please.

  Hello: Had to install the new HD and Windows7 64-bit o/s in a HP G62 - 358 (Prod #X6950UA) CA.  But the without wire is not recognized and I can not find the drivers for the controller network - Hdwr I.D. PCI\VEN_10EC & DEV_8171 & SUBSYS_1467103C & REV_10

  The network card is Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller... dunno if that governs the wireless as well?

  Would appreciate anyone who can point me in the right direction... I tried all the drivers for the HP download page, but can't get anything to work.

  I've never seen this error and have no idea of what that means.

  I'm not a resolution of network issues.

  My expertise lies in finding drivers. When they do not work as expected, I don't know what to do anymore than the next guy.

  Uninstall this driver and try like that of the support page and the driver of your laptop.

  Maybe your PC has a problem with the latest driver.

• HP G62 keyboard key use normal function requires FN change. This can be changed?

  My HP G62 laptop keyboard function keys have uses of media by default such as jump, stop, louder, quieter, wireless power. I rarely feel like that at all. But I use the terminal emulation function keys. For this I have to hit FN all the time before use. This can be changed?

  I read your post about wanting to improve the processor on your laptop HP G62-a21SE and wanted to reach out to you.

  According to what I can find in the maintenance manual (page 81), you should be able to upgrade the processor on your system, because it lists several different compatible i3 and i5 processors. If you are doing the update yourself, the manual also has steps on it.
