• HP Support Solutions Framework: Framework of Solutions from HP Support - should I uninstall if I Uninstall HP Support Assistant

  Our assistance service has been a great help when I posted a warning about my battery, so I took into account in my own hand - google it and installed HP Support Assistant to analyze my battery. I don't know a lot about this program, but it I helped get to the bottom of the problem and a new battery is on its way to me.

  I decided to uninstall the wizard because I didn't need the most. That's when I happened to notice two other HP programs on my laptop - HP Support Solutions Framework and HP Hotkey support. These installed when I installed the HP Support Assistant? If so, I want to uninstall these, too. Are they already on my laptop, then I don't want to delete them.

• virtual - profile aaa - order support

  Can someone tell me what version of IOS is supported the virtual aaa command - profile.

  We had problems try with 12.3 (7) T3, 12.3 (9), 12.3 (10) Although release notes it is supported.

  However, when trying to enter on our 3745 is not there as an option only those below;

  is there something else we need to do to activate the profile virtual aaa? We use the 3745 with card PRI ISDN and dial-up async jointly with Cisco ACS 2.6 users where our dial-up users have additional aaa held config. FYI our ISDN users have defined Dialer profiles.

  Hmmm, it's a little confusing, and our documentation on the subject leaves much to be desired to say the least, my apologies.

  Seems that about 12.2 (8) T and 12.2 (15), as a side effect for a bug fix might the CSCdv19928 (http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Support/Bugtool/onebug.pl?bugid=CSCdv19928&Submit=Search), they took this command was confusing for customers.

  Basically in the future, if we receive AAA attributes we do runtime decide if need us a virtual int. In short, the command is now always on, no matter if you see it in the config or not and the router makes the decision on whether to use it or not depending on what attributes it receives from the AAA server.

• Software OffficeJet Pro 8500 HP Solution Center not supported on Windows 7

  Just upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 and when I tried to reload the CD with the HP Solution Center, he told me that he only works on XP or Vista.  It is an application very used on my PC.  Is there an upgraded version that I can download that will run on Windows 7.  The wireless printer works fine on Windows 7 but without the goodies from the Solution Center.

• Cisco support for third party on SRE applications?

  Hi - I think about some applications of unified communications to third parties under VMWare ESXi5 running on a Cisco SRE 900 module.   According to the docs Cisco, 3rd party apps are supported on these modules (see table below), but the app in question is NOT on the list of Cisco below.

  A few questions:

  1. until the third-party application is able to run under VMWare/VSphere ESXi5, is there anything on the SRE which could prevent you from running this third-party application even if it is not on the list of Cisco?

  2. What is the policy on the use of third-party applications that are not on their list of Cisco?    For example, they will be a call for support on the SRE running an unlisted application (I do not expect to help me with the app, but I don't want to cancel any kind of support contract through the use of a third-party application not on their list).

  As long as 3rd party soft is able to run on ESXi 5 he would go on the SRE material. Cisco does not prevent these applications from running even if they are competitive. Support perspective that Cisco TAC will not take any support calls for these applications nor would know how to redirect the call to these 3rd party partners. Cisco TAC supports only SRE and ESXi related issues.

  To the best of my knowledge IOS and IOS - XE nothing better than PAP support for authenticating users to network devices remotely. Is there a solution more concentrated than PAP, perhaps CHAP or P/EAP-based? Given the fact that OpenSSL already installed in these devices, I'm surprised that EAP-TTLS has not been adopted as a secure alternative.

  As far as I'm concerned, I don't know of any technology readily available to protect RAY sessions between the authenticator and the RADIUS server. The need for this is may be minimized by the fact that common applications of RADIUS (i.e., PPP, 802. 1 X and wireless authentication) establish a secure channel "supplicant" - RADIUS and use EAP to carry any authentication the begging and RADIUS is supported, with the authenticator, being relegated to a minor role of reconditioning of EAP messages in pairs of RAY - V and vice versa. This whole chain carrying identification user information can be protected by TLS, the actual communication between a RADIUS server and her authenticators is not protected by itself.

  Many sources often States in a flippant remark that a VPN tunnel, such as IPsec, could be used to protect RAY sessions. It is hardly feasible, however, because many features in the role of authenticator (for example, switches) have no support for IPsec, either. It seems that RADIUS has been recently extended with TLS support - the "RadSec" is described in RFC 6614 but I've not supported by devices yet seen - honestly, I learned about this was now alone as I looking for some details during the drafting of this response.

  Protect the old RADIUS protocol is always a challenge, it would seem.

• Solutions accelerators are supported in LiveCycle ES2

  I did some tests on the use of the current version of solution accelerators in LiveCycle ES 2.  I ran into some issues and I have been informed that they are not natively supported in this environment, for the moment.  I was just curious to know if the next version of accelerators will rely in ARE and, if so, when will they be available?

  Yes, the next version of accelerators will run on SS2. There are pre-release versions on the beta site. Not sure if the release date, but I think it should be on this site.

  I understand the Solution from HP Support framework service has worked for days and your CPU usage is always between 85 and 100%.  If you open the Task Manager you can stop the process? You can also try a hard reset. HP Notebook PCs - performing a Hard Reset or forced Reset. Please let me know the results.

  I'm having a probem with HP Solutions Framework Support as well.  When I go to the support page for the driver, I click install now to install the program, but then I get an error.  I enclose a copy of the screen shot that identifies the problem.  The HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE32 key does not exist in my registry sytem, although I HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.  I've also attached a screenshot that as well.

  

  

  Change the permissions on {HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion\Run} has failed.  I did, however, find the culprit.  I added myself to the following key with total control:

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDlls

  After that I restarted the framework of Solutions from HP Support installed without any problems.  Thanks for your help though.  I hope that someone else is having the same problem will find it useful.

• HP ENVY 23-d055: HP Solutions Framework Support wiped out my HP Support Assistant for Windows 10

  I recently upgraded my HP Touchsmart 23-do55 of Windows 8 to 10 of Windows.  I needed to update the drivers for my LaserJet and when I went to the drivers and downloads page, I installed what is called the framework of Solutions from HP Support. This framework has installed a new HP Support Assistant user interface that only shows the printers. It shows all the information to get support for my HP touchsmart, like to see updates HP, updates, Windows, etc. etc.

  How to get back my decision assistant in charge of Windows 10, and how can I have two attendants to aid (PC and printers) on my PC?

  Never mind. Now I realize that HP Support Assistant is more focused on the PC. The PC is just another device, so I need to open it to show my Windows.

  However, if someone in HP is reading this, it would be nice if the UI of HP SUpport Assistant was readable for older eyes. The new user interface uses a very small font in a grey color. It is very difficult for me to read.

• HP-P2-1394: HP Solutions Framework Support will not install or uninstall

  How do I manually uninstall HP Solutions Framework Support so I can install the latest version?  I need to get the latest updates of firmware for my computer.

  I am running Windows 10 (64-bit), but the problem started with Windows 8.1.  When I go to the HP support to verify the updates drivers it says that I need to install the last frame Solutions from HP Support.  I have download the installer from the HP site but when I try to install it, I get the message "cannot find file hpsupportsolutionsframework.msi" - it is impossible to uninstall the existing version.  I try to uninstall from Windows Add/Remove programs and get the same error.  The only thing I've found so far is a couple of third-party software who want $30 for an uninstall program.

  If you can't the old version uninstalled via the Control Panel---> programs and features, then tryRevo Uninstaller.

  Be sure that you choose the right download HP Support Assistant. One is for the office and one for desktop computers.

• G60-120US: cannot install HP Solutions Framework Support

  In trying to download the latest touchpad driver, I got a message to install the framework of Solutions from HP Support. I downloaded and had it fail 4 times. 3 times it seemed to install correctly but the HP site would not recognize it. The last time I got an error message on checking if had the authority to install it. I retried with "run as Administrator: 2 times more and still got the same message."

  I have that I'm under Win 7 SP1. I can not get online in normal mode but works in safe mode, but I can't even begin to fix this because I can not disable the touchpad with the key on keyboard.

  I can't fix anything since each step brings me further down the rabbit hole.

  the previous version was crashing and not opening.
