File ASMS requested by system when I try to install Windows XP Home Repair.

I'm trying to repair a XP Home installation that previously had SP3 installed on it! I get to the screen where it is said 39 minutes from my XP Home when asked a 'asms' file which he thinks should be in the drive G: (my CD player) in the folder ' i386/asms! (there is no browse button, but the location of the file can be typed in) My original CD Home Win XP OS does not have SP 2 preloaded. But when I propose to win a SP2 CD g disc it can't find the file 'asms '. I can't be either when I navigate folders Win SP2 of the CD on another computer! I did a search for this file 'asms' on another computer in the same work with the same type of OS. These files 'asms' at the Conference on Disarmament has burned, but put it in drive G: repaired installation still fails to get the system to recognize and accept this file! Someone at - it a solution for this?

    Hello

Hmm I think the BSOD appears because you didn t add SATA drivers in the Win XP operating system.

However, you can try to install Win XP on your laptop without the use of the SATA driver, but you can change the SATA AHCI in the BIOS in compatible mode.

    Hello

Everything you need you can find on Toshiba Canada support page http://209.167.114.38/support/Download/ln_byModel.asp#
When you choose your part number do not forget, you use PSAANC-VA505C number (check also on the laptop label in the lower corner of your laptop).

Now, back to the blue screen. As far as I know for this model of laptop is not necessary to install the S - ATA Raid Controller at the beginning of the procedure of the facilities. For laptops with RAID driver this driver is available on the download page. This driver is not available for your laptop model.

  • Product ID invalid when you try to install Windows XP on VMware.

    XP installation of VMware

    Hello

I have a PC under win 7. and I am trying to Flash an old router to wireless access point for a spot of dead in my house. To cut a long story short, I need to Flash the router using a software program that does that on XP (I tried the compatibility options in Windows 7 and it does not work). Then I put on the implementation of a virtual machine using VMware and an old copy of XP, I had. However, when I try and install XP I get the error that the product id is not valid. Now, I know that the software is legitimate - it was part of a XP operating system provided with an HP laptop - so my question is how I can get through the installation? I will not buy another XP code - after all I will ever use again once I finished the flash - and for the same price, I could buy a new router!. I just want to save the Earth, a small piece of discharge potential and save myself $20!
    Any help appreciated
