• My indesign won't open 3 missing links

  I was open a file that was created before and there were a few missing links, about 16. I tried to recreate a link to them and it worked without any problems, except for the 3 files.

  When I try to recreate a link to these files (they are jpg and 1 pdf file) Indesign gives me the following error:

  I checked and it is not open somewhere else, the file exist and I checked the permission which seemed correct settings...

  Also tried to re-record the files under a different name, placed on my desk, made a copy. nothing has worked.

  If they are jpeg or png or gif - save as tiff

  If they are tiff - save as psd

  If they are psd - save as tiff

  Or another file format let us know.

  I use InDesign CC for some time and for some reason that I can't quite understand this suddenly stopped working, literally from one day to the next. I didn't install anything else, nor my computer passed through updates.

  
  I uninstalled InDesign, CC update to the latest version and reinstalled InDesign, and it still not open. I've deleted preferences and cache without result.

  I am on Windows 7 and when I look at my task manager after the application is closed, I see that it never closes completely. He's always sitting. This is getting very frustrating that I have a client project that I am currently unable to complete, and I am paying for InDesign CC and cannot use it.

• REVIEWS VITAL - my wmware fusion 3.13 FILES suddenly won't open my vm win7

  So, I'm on a mac running MAC OS X 10.6.8

  Everything worked very well today. There was a power failure (Ah-Ah) and when later, I turned on my computer - my hard drives seemed fine, but when I open VMWARE Fusion, it gave me an error trying to open my windows WM.

  So I don't think that I have all the backups, even if I have configured automatically snapshots - but the .vmwarevm file seems to be a mistake. I can 'display content packed' but I don't really know what to do. The data are an essential information, so I really hope someone can share information or tool, step by step on how I might be able to access my data.

  Please let me know as soon as POSSIBLE, if anyone knows what / if there is nothing I can do.

  Someone had CC (maybe a trial) and saved files... Still, it is said in the finder doesn't mean anything - the operating system knows only the latest version currently installed.

  I had to make some adjustments in a project, I opened before and was working a lot... (2 months since the last time I worked with this project) When I had to make some minor corrections etc. on this project yesterday I can't open the file. The project he auto are only on the 8900 kB.   First of all, a tip: try breaking manually links to the file by moving this document you want to open on your desktop or another directory or such and then try to open the... (corrupted image previews and/or images may then be largely elminated as a potential cause)

  As @Peter mentioned, we (Markzware - link here for how it works) can probably repair this file. Interesting notes of @jongware above. Without having seen this file, our research shows there are variety of reasons an InDesign file can head South and corrupt or crash on you. Just as a doctor cannot always say what has caused the problem, there are some basic steps that we should take. For example, OS updated, using the latest available update InDesign, enough disk space and disk for Adobe scartch space heavy design operations. Here is a list of some of the most common problems with bad INDD documents:

  * Corrupt police (or corrupt fonts (see below) caches

  * Corrupt or images

  * Power failure

  * Place images by drag - move a Web page

  * Working on a file, InDesign via a network or on a remote server

  To check the files of individual fonts (fonts are like mini apps really), we recommend FontExplorer XPro or Extensis Suitcase Fusion 4, the latest may be the more popular of the two.

  I just downloaded the file without problem. Not sure that it is an EPS file? You will need to open it in an application that supports files .ai (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.). Let us know if you're still having problems.

  We have four designers connected to a network server. All were able to open Adobe created files on the server with computers using OS 10.9.5. Two of us upgraded to 10.10.5 and now Photoshop and InDesign do not open files from the network server, or save files on the server - Illustrator and Acrobat will be. We can copy files from the server back to our offices. This sounds like a problem of permissions with Photoshop and InDesign, but do not know how to change. We use CC 2015 versions of the software.
