File size of control

Hi gurus,

Is there any eligible size that a control file should reach? My control file is 28 MB, I take RMAN backup for the database, the size of my db occupies approximately 150 GB and the number of archives get generated is 30 GB every day. Is that what all caution anxiety if the control file size continues to increase. Please notify.

Kind regards
Aurélie

P.S - I can't create a catalog because of infrastructure problems and my parameter control_file_record_keep_time = 7. My db version is 10.2.0.4 and OS version is windows 200 (edited to add versions)

I see no problem with that. Don't you see that the size is constantly increasing?
The size of the controlfile to the database on my laptop is 10 M (approx.) and database is in noarchivelog mode.

    Hello
Must I increase the size of control files. I search online, but I found none?

    It's still to do.

    Thank you
    Vijay

    This is the requirement.

We have lost a part of the archive logs on Production Db, and there is not even in the recent backup also, for this reason, the recovery of DG hit.

So let's pick up by RMAN.
For this we need to define control_file_record_keep_time = 7
and my colleague suggested me to increase the size of the file also controls 20/30 MB for 7 days of data.

HAA, it does'nt meen to increase the size of the CONTROL FILE, it means the value of control_file_record_keep_time

    sys@11GDEMO > show the parameter control_file_record_keep_time

    VALUE OF TYPE NAME
    ------------------------------------ ----------- ------------------------------

    control_file_record_keep_time integer 7

    sys@11GDEMO > alter system set control_file_record_keep_time = 30 scope = both;

    Modified system.

    sys@11GDEMO > show the parameter control_file_record_keep_time

    VALUE OF TYPE NAME
    ------------------------------------ ----------- ------------------------------

    whole control_file_record_keep_time * 30 *.

    sys@11GDEMO >

Then, it can keep 30 days of metadata information in controlfile.

  • Why the same photo's file size different in Photos and in the Finder?

I have a photo size 4608 x 3456. When I open the file information in the Apple's Photos app, it says that the file is 7.8 MB. When I open the same photo in the Finder and look at the news file, it is said that it is 3.1 MB on the disk. Why does this happen? All other metadata is the same in the pictures, Finder, Lightroom or Photoshop, but I can't understand why the file size seems to have changed since I dragged photo pictures to the Finder.

    Thank you.

How you view the photo in the finder (you shouldn't be messing around inside the photo library)?

  • VI suddenly increased file size

I got a main vi file size of about 160 KB for several days now. All of a sudden today after (maybe after slightly changing my sub-VI-not sure about that), the size of the master file of the vi has suddenly turned up 18MB! Why is this happen and how do I get that back to normal (if normal is fine)

In general, this happens if you set a value of contol to have a default value that contains a lot of data.  If you have a table control and set to have a default value that has been a very large painting, for example, LabVIEW to store everything that data within the VI.

Another possibility is including images on the flowchart Panel or front.

I have Vista 2007 service pack 2.  I tried in safe mode, tried to move to another folder, tried to run without windows, search, folder to never display thumbnails, tried Mandrake Move, but it was outdated, orders back cmd has tried to delete. Also tried to delete with disabled explorer.exe.

    Any suggestions?

Thank you Ganesh and Hetti.  I just finally deleted my ghost file.  I used the safe mode and cmd.

I went into the directory of downloads in the BACK, the used command DIR / X to find out the name of the file.

He was ~ 1 at the end of the file name.   I used DEL filename ~ 1 and the file disappeared.  I checked the

trash and he wasn't there either.  I rebooted the computer and found no trace of the file.

    The controls were as follows,

    CD C:\users\my name\downloads

dir / x (to find the full file name,)

    del (to remove the file)

I could probably use alternative command

    del *. *.

Thank you again and maybe it helps someone else.  I ran the control with the repair disc, but that did not remove the ghost file.  I could also not delete the downloads folder.  Create the same named file with 0 bytes not working anymore.  I tried the latest version of Mandrake then.

  • Active to generate set max file size

    Hello

I was wondering if it is possible to set a maximum file size when generating assets, instead of setting the % quality.

For example, instead of marking with a layer of background.jpg50% I want to tagf it background.jpg150kb

It kind of works where the number is less than 10 KB (need to use just the letter K without the B), but does not work for anything over 10 k

    Is this possible to do?

Not that I know of. Generator is probably 'see' the 10 k as just 10 for the quality setting.

No reason why you want full control over the size of the file rather than size of the file size or quality of file?

  • The Lightroom export file size: why it's so small? How can I maximize the picture quality?

My image file size is much smaller after editing and export through Lightroom. It is impossible to maintain the size of the original file in order to preserve image quality? This small file size will have a negative impact on the prints? Any help is appreciated!

The file size is not an indicator of picture quality! You are looking at the wrong measure.

File size is determined by the number of pixels you have, the quality slider in the dialog box export and of a dozen other things, most of which you cannot control.

Want to watch the number of pixels (width and height) and not the size of the file.

It is impossible to maintain the size of the original file in order to preserve image quality?

Not only is impossible, that it is also meaningless (see above)

This small file size will have a negative impact on the prints?

Instead look at the size of the file, you must look at the number of pixels of the exported photo (width and height), and this will determine if you get a decent impression. The usual standard is that you need 300 pixels per inch.

  • expdp to be smaller file size

is there anyway to tell system to compress or anything to make smaller file size, IE. Only 4 GB?

At the OS level or custom level oracle compression compress 91 GB to 4 GB. His compress more or less to 1/4, for example 16GB datafile would be compressed to somewhere around 4 GB. For compression 91GB you will get about 23 GB.

I suggest to make data file numbers while making export using attribute and specify the SIZE attribute to control the maxsize parameter and then use the PARALLEL attribute.
    For example

    expdp HR/hr FILESIZE = 4024 DIRECTORY = dpump_dir1 DUMPFILE=exp2%U.dmp PARALLEL = 7 M

Remember compression you need license and parallel use, check the CPU

  • Balloons of file size of 20KO to 1.2 MB after you add form fields

    Hi all

I have a Word document that I export to PDF using the Acrobat addons to the Ribbon bar. When I do this, it generates a ~ 20KB PDF. Then I went and added five text fields and about ~ 20 lines of JavaScript to control. After I do save slot, PDF 1.2 Mo balloons... How can I fix?

I have an embeded in the word for the logo EPS file, but it embeded get-fine from Word to PDF at the start, so I think that's not the problem. I thought fonts since I changed it Arial, so I changed to Helvetica and it remains the same. What Miss me? Oh, the PDF is saved in the smallest file size, PDF 1.7.

    Thanks in advance!

What fonts do you use for fields? If you use something other than the built-in fonts (aka base-14), Acrobat incorporates the entire police and some fonts are rather large. In particular, do not use a font like Arial or similar to one of the built-in fonts.

  • Check the file size before downloading

    Hi there guys...

I'm having a problem at the moment... How can I check the file size before being transmitted to the server?

I was given a task to check if the file size limit is 500 KB and then block the download and warn the user.

According to my colleague from work... This is not possible with Javascript or Ajax... is there another method I can use?

    kindly help... Thank you

It is a good answer, but it is interesting to note that Flash Player is itself a control ActiveX (when run in IE). In short, you need something beyond code that runs directly in the browser to do this. It can be done with just HTML and JavaScript in a web page.

  • Acrobat Pro v. 9 - order of file size reduction amount?

I have a file PDF 100 mb in size.   I want to reduce to about 10 MB.

So far, by browsing the forum I tried these suggestions.

    (1) use Save slot - this drop resulted in 100 MB size 56 MB.  When tried again, no further reductions were made

    (2) using the PDF from step 1) (save under), I selected the Document-> reduce the size of the file I was able to achieve a document resulting from 85 k.

I am aware PDF Optimization, I used it with a "standard" configuration   I got a resulting file 86 k.

No there is no way to control the reduction in file size?  I wish I had something about 10 to 20 MB in size.  Or at least feel that there is some control over it.

All this what save as is remove the previous stuff who are no longer in use. As far as reducing the file size and optimize the PDF, you can adjust the options in those. To get a 10:1 reduction may be impossible. This is not an arbitrary choice, but one of which has been optimized or "compromised". If one could reduce the size of the small files as you wish without loss of information, all files would also now registered. You are limited to what you can do with the reduce file size. It is especially supposed to lower resolution graphics, graphic cultures permanently and others - although I don't know it really all done in my experience. The PDF Optimizer is where you want to be where you have to make selections on resolution graphic and other.

If you have an original (not PDF) to work with, you will find perhaps easier clean up and make a new PDF. Among the many people falling into traps is that they use a million color graphics at 2400 dpi or such. Then, they expect to have a small PDF. It is best to change the graphics with 256 colors and change the resolution to 200 or 600 dpi before (always keep the graphics of origin somewhere else). The end result is probably acceptable in this case. You can also consider the installation of the graphics in the PDF document. For the size that you have, I guess it is the real killer. In Acrobat, which can be done with PhotoShop.

  • Instance recovery fast and redolog file size

    Hello

Could you please explain to me how redolog file size allows to retrieve the instance more quickly?

    Thank you
    KSG

    Soon, I'll try to say.

The answer lies in the relationship between the number of buffers Sales necessary for recovery. Buffers dirty necessary for recovery is limited by the checkpoint process when DBWR is ping some of them writing in the data file. So with a log switch, you'll hit a control point. So if the size of the log files to be smaller, frequency control would be great, which makes written buffers more aggressively in the fikles of data and limit the duration of the reocvery instance. Her biger make you, it would take more than the checkpoint occurs and so in the case of instance recovery, it would bemore time required. That said, using a log file of small size would also lead to "cehckpoint inicomplete" error as well, because it can happen that DBWR will not be able to match with his own writing speed and the speed of the current generation gate of event.

  • Hi, my places.sqlite file size is 30 720 KB I reached the maximum size, is there a maximum size for this. Visited links are is more changing color.

    Hello
My places.sqlite file size is 30 720 KB I reached the maximum size, is there a maximum size for this.
Suddenly the visited links don't change is no longer the font color, that I prepare for an exam, I need visited issues to change color, to follow up on issues that I ended. But if I delete a few days of history, then again once, most visited links change color and then it stops, it seems that something is getting full and not able to accommodate more? Why my visited links don't change color after a number of visits? I would like to make a back up of the file places.sqlite. So I tried everything to remove the profile, uninstalling reinstalling, creating a new profile, and then copy paste places.sqlite etc, but as mentioned after a few visits, visited links is no longer change color, if I delete a few days in history and then a few visits is again change color and then stop again, so what should I increase so that my quota of visited links is increased , I also tried tweaking about: config and there has been no result. Although I was not really convinced that _pages growing brower.history_max (don't remember the name, but I'm sure you get the idea) will help.
Seems that while my visited links change color, quota is met and only if I delete the history of a few days will I get some links most visited to change color. Can someone enlighten us? As mentioned that my places.sqlite file size is 30 720 KB so I think maybe this has something to do with it? Would be very grateful if someone could help me. Thank you.

Sorry it is not looking good.

    1. Unlike bookmarks history is not saved in Firefox.
    2. There is a possibility using Windows.
    3. Sync is not expected to back up things until the synchronization server
    4. If places.sqlite does not sort itself you may have to re-create remove it. You will lose your history, but can still access indirectly IF you have saved a copy of the appropriate
    5. Different databases to try to create new profiles
    1. History
is rather less robust than bookmarks, you should deliberately somehow return it upward, but it's too late now
    2. Earlier versions of Windows
This is really the last chance. Make sure you have some places.sqlite you saved. Always before and after any attempt to restore the backup. Windows must be able to provide a previous version. One of these versions may be usable as is; or can be used after a repair with housekeeping. Of course, this is not the latest version but it should help.
    3. Sync is not a server backup service.
Sync is intended to save on another device, no backup is the fact that the second device then contains synchronized information. IIRC Sync development ceased, and the replacement when available may include a server backup option.
    4. Recreate the database of bookmarks (including history)
Unfortunately, recess can only use saved bookmarks, there is no saved history to use. Once the database is re-created, it will continue to store the history but it loses the existing history. This time take steps to save on a regular basis.
    5. Use the new profiles for database testing.

To simplify comparison of the results of the database different files create one or more new additional profiles. Then try to smash the places.sqlite file into the test profile with any other places.sqlite, you want to try. Allows you to directly compare the databases, without seeking to use sync and without changing the Firefox profile work unnecessarily. You can keep a reference profile of studies with the best of the profiles of any shows results of history; According to the best recreated or corrupted database is.
    • Use the Profile Manager to create and delete profiles Firefox
    • CARE, do not rename or delete profiles created once or use anything other than empty folders when they are created. Don't nest in the other profiles. (At least until you know exactly how it behaves - post back if you never consider such actions)
  • for the iBooks file size question

    Hello..

With a view to monitoring of storage space on a MacBook Air without 85 GB of available space, someone knows on what an iBook, file size can be?

    Thanks in advance!

    Carolyn

    Hi there is Carolyn!

Looks like you are looking to see what type of file sizes to wait for iBooks. This article seems to answer this question directly:

    On iBooks

    Size of files

The typical book is about 2 MB. The books that contain improved, audio or video, features vary in size depending on the content. Enhanced books could take longer to download than a standard book.

The iBook Store also offers manuals that might be larger than 1 to 2 GB of file size. You need a Wi - Fi download them on an iOS device. Time to download textbooks vary depending on your Internet connection.

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.
