File transfer on a clean hard disk backup CD

I had to clean up the hard drive and now need to transfer the files from the CD to which they were saved to the hard drive clean. Quatro Pro and Word files. Need help?

Click on the first file in the list to highlight, press and hold the 'Shift' key and click the last file in the list. They should all now be highlighted, right-click and select 'Copy', now use Windows Explorer to navigate to the destination and click "Paste."

You might consider creating folders with logical names to be used a subset of similar files.

You can also save the effort by opening Windows Explorer twice, a window to the location of the source file and the other on the destination. This copy and paste a much easier task.

  • How can I recover my files from hard drive on a clean hard disk, Diskpart

I tried to install Windows 8 Preview, however, I kept getting a message saying that Windows is to not install the disk hard because it was in the GPT format or something. When this happened, a forum on the internet suggested that I use DiskPart to clean the disc. I did as he said, not realizing that it would literally clean off my hard drive. I am trying to use another hard disk and install a (overview of Win8) OS on it so that I can access the old hard drive and retrieve it using a program called TestDisk http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk

I hope that it will work, but I would like to comment on this and maybe some VIP tips.
At this point, any advice is good advice.
    Thank you

First of all, I would highly recommend NOT to use Windows 8 for your recovery efforts.  New systems of operating have incompatibilities with the generation previous tools and utilities - witness to the fact that all of the major anti-virus companies update their products to Windows 8.  Stay with a published known operating system.

Then, realizing that what you do for the old hard disk decreases the chance that you will be able to recover the files.  You would ideally take the disc, put it in an antistatic bag and ship it to a recovery company data that you would charge probably hundreds of thousands of dollars to recover your data, but was probably a chance of recovering 100% as long as the player has not been written to since the diskpart session.

Having never been in the position that you are in because my computer gets backed up every night, I can't recommend a recovery product based on personal use. I've seen a good many people recommend Recuva (http://www.piriform.com/recuva) and it would probably do the work for you... but remember once again, play you with the reader, becomes it is likely that you will not be able to recover at all.

  • Move from Vista to Windows 7 AND transfer on a different hard disk operating system

I want to upgrade to Windows 7 64-bit and in the same movement of time the OS Vista Home Premium 32-bit & a Seagate 80 GB HARD drive to two 250 GB hard drives in a RAID configuration. I intend to replace the 80 GB HARD disk with a faster drive Windows XP, so I find myself with a dual-boot system.  Apart from the exchange of small hard drives, the system will be unchanged compared to when I activated Vista.  Since it seems I have to reinstall all the programs on W7 in any case (damn and the breath), I wonder if it will be necessary (for reasons of product activation) or useful (for operational reasons) to first clone Vista to the larger players. I am aware that Seagate provides cloning software, also free that 250 GB seems a little bit today - but he will do well while this PC is still working. In case it is relevant, the Vista is OEM (I built the PC and I bought Vista with the motherboard), but I will get the retail version of Windows 7.  Most experts with thanks...

    Hello

We cannot move the operating system from one hard disk to another. However, we can install the operating system on another hard drive or take the whole operating system if necessary system image backup.
NOTE: You'll have to do a custom Setup to upgrade to the 64 bit version of Windows 7.
Windows Backup gives you the opportunity to create a system image, which is an exact image of a disk. A system image includes Windows and your control panel, programs and files. You can use a system image to restore the contents of your computer if your hard drive or computer ever stops working. When you restore your computer from a system image, it's a complete restoration; You cannot choose to restore individual items and all of your current programs, Control Panel, and the files are overwritten.

  • How to disable the file hiding (changing options for hard disk does not work)

    Hi all

I hope someone can help me with the following problem:

-J' need to open a file of 16 GB of content in third party software (Stata) who reads completely in memory.

-Due to Windows caching file, necessary to get the procedure done about 32 GB cache files and Stata access physical memory.

-As I have only 24 GB of physical RAM file is read later part of virtual memory, which leads to serious performance problems.

I unchecked the box 'Enable write on the device cache' to my hard drive. That did not help. Is there a way to disable the Cache during PLAYBACK of files?

Thank you very much in advance for any help!

    Tobi

The write cache and virtual memory are different. Virtual memory is an extension of the physical memory residing on the HARD disk where Windows is installed. Normally, the virtual memory is about twice the size of the current physical memory. Write cache is an exclusive setting for external hard drives only and has no effect in internal hard drives.

In your case, please note that full 24GO of RAM will not be allocated to the program. At least 1 GB will be reserved for windows, so the rest of the programs are moved to virtual memory, which means that the HARD drive. It is not recommended to disable virtual memory because it can cause stability problems. In addition, the files are not copied directly in memory, even if they are big. Instead, the parts of the file are available and this area, including the incremental values and material, are stored in the memory. So if all of a sudden, you access an area of the file which is very far away from the previous location, it takes time as the new area, as well as differentials and material value of a few bytes is also copied to the memory. The box of files previously displayed is erased from the memory.

For performance improvements, you can go for the SSD, RAM with higher clock speed (must be compatible with the motherboard) as processor as well as the upgrade. However, please note that the process of accessing a file even as mentioned previously, but the speed will increase because of the higher bandwidth and the clock frequency.

  • Transfer iTunes and external HARD disk media library

To build capacity on my 13-inch MacBook Pro (SSD) I want to transfer my music and files from the iTunes library on an external HARD drive. By following the online instructions I copied the iTunes folder of high level of my MBP on the external HARD drive and have chosen the new library (.itl) on the first reopening of iTunes. Everything seems fine but to verify music file information, it seems that the music files are always read in the MBP files. How do I order the new library to the remote disk copy of music files so that I can remove them safely from MBP. Thank you

Move a library: quick response if you use preferences by default iTunes settings: copy the folder iTunes integer (and to ensure that all of its subfolders and files) intact at the other disk, hold down the option/Alt (shift on Windows) keys at the start of iTunes, and request select a library select iTunes Library.itl file in the copied folder. https://support.Apple.com/HT201596

  • Hard disk backup/Image program

    Hello:

Here... I mean "Backup" to be * just * a backup of files & folders.

Backup, a full backup of the (gradually) of the any of your laptop

Internal HD, external hard drive, disk,... to another internal HD, flash memory

external hard drive, FlashDrive... etc.  In short, an 'image' of this player.

I'm running 32-bit of Windows Vista Home Premium on an HP Pavilion laptop.

Do you know a "backup" program that is very easy to use, where you can essentially

"Click & Drag" your hard drive icon (or one of the 'readers listed above)

make a complete (or partial) backup (image) of this drive?

I would like that the file 'backup', designed to be easy to read and use: not something that

is an encryptyed or a filetype Tablet (e.g. .tib), other than possibly .zip.

The key point here is 'easy to understand', 'easy to install' and 'easy to use '.

    Thank you

    DaleB

    Hello

Vista Home Premium only makes the backup of files, not 'do Backup. "

There are a number of 3rd party programs available for a full backup of the computer; others, you must pay for, some are free.

    This program must be purchased:

    "Acronis True Image".

  • Why don't my raw in iphoto files transfer on an external hard drive in the form of successfully raw files?

    Hello

I use a mac in mid-2007, 10.7.5 mini system. I use iPhoto for my photo files only. I recently shot a family, the RAW files. When you try to transfer these RAW files and keep them in the form of RAW files on an external hard drive, the files themselves simply to the jpg. did someone knows how I can get these RAW files off my hard drive to an external hard drive, but keep them RAW and their original size? Thanks much for any guidance you may have. -bethsongs

TO export RAW files you select them in iPhoto and export (menu, file == > export) using the type is an original option - see export from iPhoto for more details on the options

as to get them off you primary drive - you can't, unless you remove them form iPhoto and empty iPhoto trash and trash system - iPHoto must always have access to the original to work

  • Clone HARD disk backup and upgrade the HDD on a Vaio S13

I just bought a laptop SVS13133CGB. I want to change the hard drive for an SSD, because of the problems of latency of disk it gives me with the drive 5400 RPM. Also, I have to change to Windows 7, because of the problems of compaitbality with the applications I run.

    My questions are-

-Are there problems with an SSD on this model? I intend to use a Samsung 840 250 GB SSD and do a clean install of windows 7 on it.

-I want to save the data of the existing drive, imaging or cloning, so that I can have the installtion Windows 8 + the recovery partion. (also the key/cert/activation)  Does anyone know if I restore it, everything will work according to the normal? I.e. the assist, the stamina/speed etc button button... I m not sure what cloning software I will use, like I always do research which at the moment.

    Has anyone done the above?

    ravinius,

    1. I don't think there's any question replacing a HDD with a SSD... we can only comment on what has been installed from factory but as I said, I don't see a problem to an SSD.

    2. it is preferable that you create system recovery disc and run that, if you want to revert to Windows 8.  Regarding what makes an exact image, I don't know on this one there... There are several software cloning there, but we cannot comment/recommend on a specific... If you are running the recovery disc it will restore everything back as if it was fresh from the factory (software wise)...

  • Activate XP PRO on a clean hard disk

I installed a disk drive hard vacuum on an old Toshiba Tecra 9 has and did not have the original Windows installation CD. So I installed XP pro with an old drive I had laying around the disk of XP SP2 installation integrated with Microsoft XP SP3 download to installation. I have the product key on my COA sticker, but it does not work. I used the tool to update key product to try an update, but that does not work either. I'm stuck with no real installation here, but I have the certificate of authenticity! How can I fix it?

This explains why the key is not accepted by XP, then :)

You have a key of XP at retail to go with the installation, or not?

The installed key is key - which can never be activated by default.

You must have a XP key to activate XP

  • Help invisible fixing file trash should be removed, the file has grown exponentially and hard disk space.

A few days ago, I deleted a file .mkv of the trash using CCleaner, as I usually do (this is my first problem with CCleaner). Although it seems as if the file was not successfully removed. Whenever I start Defraggler or CCleaner, I am aware of the file in question still exist on my hard drive, and as time has passed in the last days, the file has increased to exponenentially to the point that he can't because he filled my hard drive. Remember that this file, before I deleted it, was about 4 GB. It's somewhere in the region of 80 GB, I think. CCleaner can not delete it (although it is trying very hard), I tried to defrag it several times and I don't know what to do.

According to Defraggler, the file is located in C:\$Recycle.Bin\S-1-5-21-1458822887-3216967547-306807193-1000\

If anyone knows how I can remove this file from my hard drive, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll have to buy a new hard drive and move all the important data on it to the new.

actually just fixed. solution was to allow C:\$Recycle.Bin be seen (with options of folders in the control panel), then went in, deleted the trash (excluding all files desktop.ini and other important files, windows prompts me not not to remove). Voila, basket rest, excluding the massive file that was found to have taken more than 170 GB in the end.

    very happy right now.

  • Cannot play music files in Windows media player hard disk external.

    Hello

I tried for a while to play the transferred music from my hard drive external.

I tried all sorts of things with WMP and it's just not going to play the files.

    I canoe play my music.

The thing is that it shows the albums and songs listed there.

But when I open a song and try to hit the room then a box opens with a warning.

Say that Windows Media Player cannot find file.

This has never been a problem with older media players.

I tried to re - download the player, but it's not part of windows more I guess and that sucks.

I want the old player back.

This was very frustrating, I hope someone can help.

    Thank you.

Otherwise, the security video is worth nothing, if you cannot prove date / time, it happened.

This happens when the date/time information are stored in a non-standard format. Best is to ask suppliers to the camera.
