  I try to find the number of active paths to just a single Lun, to control if I had a fiber optic connection down. I keep fit in a corner, because at the first right with a Get-view of a host and fish around in the multipathsection. But really I just want to test 1 Lun on all my guests to see how active paths each host has it. And it seems that orders of the Get-ScsiXX you can not specify a single lun.

  My apologies if there is an existing position that covers this, I had a look but can't find the kind of answer I was looking for. In addition, it's my ffirst post so please be nice

  We just started our radars using the engine management and I'm getting screwed the results because of duplicate UUID of production systems which are replicated to our DR Cluster using Veeam. So, basically, it's pretty simple, all I have to do is change the UUID of all replicas in our DR Cluster so that they are different from the original VMs and who should set the monitoring. However, without doubt, because the UUID is set to maintain, every time another replica is created it will copy the same UUID. So I guess I have to do is change the UUID parameter in the production of VMs to change rather than keep.

  Assuming that my understanding above are correct and please correct me if not, my questions are...

  1. What is the way simpler and more secure to change the UUID of selected/all virtual machines without incurring any downtime, if possible?

  2. is there a any impact to know by having a different UUID of the original VM in a potential scenario of DR?

  If you have 'DR' purposes, do not change their UUID. Try to exclude them in your monitoring tool. In all cases, followed by replicas are not necessary.

  in general, the signature should not change in a scenario you desrcibed.

  The ESX host allows you to create a data store VMFS on this LUN collects information provided by the table.

  This information will be used to generate a signature (the process itself is still not published by VMware).

  The signature itself is stored in the VMFS data store and is always used when the Renumeriser SCSI operations.

  Whenever an ESX Server perform a reboot or rescan operation, the following procedure will be used (high level).

  The ESX Server will

  • analyze the SCSI bus and collects information for SCSI on any device seen
  • Search for an existing partition table and the types of known partitions
  • for each VMFS data store found it will read the signature
  • checks if the signature matches with SCSI information
    • matches, continue to accumulate the VMFS datastore
    • does not, this VMFS datastore is not mounted automatically because it is identified as an "instant" feature

  So you could access easily other ESX servers on this device when each ESX Server does not see the device with the same SCSI information.

  As a best practice, each server ESX shoud see such device shared with the same LUN ID.

  The modern paintings are capable of presenting storage devices with different LUN ID in an initiator (HBA) basis.

  Another thing to keep in mind that ports in frontend used table use the same Port SCSI/flag settings, but these indicators may differ between vendors.

  If these two basic requirements are met, you will be able to share the easy storage device between multiple ESX servers.

  No, you need a little music for this. I guess you could find it difficult to play with a keyboard and hear/guess the agreements/key?

  Here would be my suggestion for a workaround - if it is an entire song, as you indicate in your question:

  -To get agreements on a Web site

  -See if you can find the original version of keys (that would be easy, right?)

  - Then play these chords along your song imported. If they sound not right, transpose your up and down by steps MIDI track until it sounds right. -> Get your agreements and the key.

  If your song doesn't have agreements to seek, find parts of the song where you lift clear of bass notes (not too much battery), EQ everything, taking Tuner in pop in the track and see if you can pick up the dominant notes. That should lead you to your key of song.

  'BonjourPSsetup.exe not supported under OS X' I am puzzled.
