Firefox 25 advises an update is available, then said "up to date".

1 at - there a way to set the number of search results per page? Do not see in the acct settings.
Too few results / page and takes too long to get from pg to pg. I don't have a dial-up more. :)

This is the 1st time I have ever seen this. Update tells me that FX 25.0.1 is available. Then, when do a "manual update" now, he immediately returns "Firefox is updated." But it's not.

Yes, I can d/l the complete installation program. I can dig a trench for pipeline w / a teaspoon, but I won't. Is this a problem that came in 25 v? Update 24 25.o worked very well for me.

Thank you.

Hello, there is time to stop planned for the update server and other services for the maintenance for the next hours - Meanwhile you can download the new version manually from https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

regarding your first question, it would of course depend on what search site, you are now, but in any case you might want to refer to the help section to get an answer for her...

  • Firefox warns that an update is available in the latest version

I use Firefox on OSX El Capitan 50.0. I lived the same question on 49, so I upgraded to 50 beta to see if it can help, but it's not. Whenever I start Firefox, I get a notification update to the latest version, even if I'm on the latest version. If I select "Restart Firefox" from the notification, Firefox restarts and illustrates the notification again. When I choose "Restart later" I can navigate normally.

I tried to get help on this thread started by someone else (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1141443), but no solution has been found.

I have an idea that can help. I use 2 accounts on OSX, one for work and one for home. I'll call these accounts and B. OSX account B was the first to show the problem, to launch Firefox 49. I followed the instructions here (http://osxdaily.com/2014/07/31/manual-complete-app-removal-mac-os-x-terminal/) to use mdfind to delete files of firefox, but that doesn't seem to help. Finally, with account B, I upgraded to Firefox 50 and stopped making the notifications. However, now I get A notification of account. Into account A, Firefox reports it as version 50.0, but still asks for updated. I guess there is something OSX causing specific account of the problems, but I don't know what that might be. Any help is appreciated.

I uninstalled Firefox and re-installed version of 50, and all seems to work very well. I'll go ahead and mark this as resolved issue. If all goes well, everything will be happy.

  • Firefox hangs at startup: update / reinstall / profile wipe / purge addon has not set

    Hello

As the subject says, my Firefox crashes now immediately at startup. (It's on Windows 10 64-bit.) Here is what I tried which did not fix the crash:
    -Refresh
    -Reinstall
    -Disable all addons
-uninstall the software which provides plugins (Flash, Acrobat Reader)
    -delete the profile

Here are the situations where Firefox goes not down:
    -safe mode
-use every night instead of 40.0.3.

This is one of the first reports of the crash from today (before I tried a ton of things):

Given that could start Firefox in Mode safe, you try to disable Firefox to use hardware acceleration?

"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > advanced

In the mini ' General' tab, uncheck the box for "use hardware acceleration when available.

This takes effect the next time you exit Firefox and start it again. Any difference?

Normally, I give the following advice, but for Windows 10 users, the problem can actually be that Firefox has not caught with driver to the latest updates. Your experience with nightly suggest that this is the case with your hardware. (But I'll list anyway...)

Because hardware acceleration improves the appearance of fonts and animations, you can check the website of your computer manufacturer to see if the graphics card/chipset driver updates are available for your system. This article suggests ways sure to check: update your drivers graphics to use hardware acceleration and WebGL.

You may have to reinstall Firefox 31 temporarily until someone figures more information about this particular crash signature.

To properly replace your program files Firefox 32 (without affecting your settings):

    (1) this section has a link to get the installer: install an older version of Firefox.

    (2) rename the folder (Windows 64-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox

    (3) run the installation program that you downloaded in the #1. It should automatically connect to your existing settings.

    It starts and runs correctly?

If so, one note: Some plugins can only exist in this OldFirefox file. If it is missing something essential, present in these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \OldFirefox\Plugins
    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \OldFirefox\browser\plugins

Otherwise: We were looking for an issue or in the folder of the external/malware software settings.

  • Firefox cannot apply an update

Firefox used to be updated seamlessly when suddenly a message pops up saying that the update cannot be applied as there may be other instances of Firefox running. Who are not. And since then I can not update Firefox again.

You may waive this type of update.

Download the installer for Firefox ESR17

If necessary, run the installer in Windows safe mode. Setup of

seems to be the traditional type in offline mode and not a stub Installer.

Take care. There should be no need to uninstall Firefox 10 and do NOT use any option to delete personal settings or you will lose bookmarks and passwords.

  • Firefox can not be updated

Firefox is not auto-update. He stopped on the version 14.0.1. When updating through 'help-> about firefox' he tries to connect to the server, but can not. When you try to download the latest full version download is cancelled. After double-clicking the file "Firefox Setup 16.0.2.exe" (one cancelled) it starts to download, but after downloading, the flush of the exe file in the folder "downloads!" Tried cutting it all the Add-ons, but no change.

I use 7, avast pro, comodo firewall and malwarebytes

    Finally solved.

Problem is that firefox wouldn't let me download anything, fresh firefox copy either. I csuppose I could just uninstall firefox and use another browser to download and set it up again, but why must he achieve this?

I googled 'firefox download doen't' and one of the many returns came from Mozilla, which suggests a number of possible solutions.

What did the trick was to 'disable antivirus in Firefox preferences' then Avast stopped deleting uploaded files.

Now, why this didn't happen on my other pc with the same configuration, remains a mystery...

Thanks ideato and cor - el yor trouble!

  • Running Mac OS version 10.7.3 and I keep getting notice that an update is available. I'm on version 9.0.1.

Firefox keeps telling me that an update is available. I try to update and it runs for hours and will not accomplish. I expect that such update may take several minutes. I click on the "Hide" button and it will not "hide". Pause button does not seem to pause or the other.
    Thank you

Sometimes the update mechanism is upward, causing this problem. The best solution is to download Firefox 11 www.getfirefox.comand install it over your existing Firefox. All your information and bookmarks must be registered.

  • Firefox worked before 11 update, now no longer loads pages (content encoding error) or not load at all.

I just got a new Dell with the 64 bit version of windows 7 Home premium. I downloaded firefox and it worked perfectly fine. Then after that it updated, it does not work. He will take care of some of my favorites, but not completely. Some sites like youtube load very well. Other sites Web support right or not at all. When they load it displays the content encoding error. Whenever I try to look for something with google, search results never appear. None of the fixes worked troubleshooting.

One possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or limits Firefox or plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.

Delete all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container in the permissions list in the firewall and leave your firewall again ask permission to get full unlimited access to the internet for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

  • Can not change the language of Firefox in English after update

I've updated Firefox on behalf of my daughter, who is French, then returned to my own account, which is in English on the same computer Mac OS X Version 10.5.8 and opens Firefox. He had updated it is also good, but in French, and he won't go back to English. I even deleted the French as an option in the preferences-content-language Options page and restarted the computer. Charges still in French. My children know French, but I didn't, so it is a pain in the thigh. How can I fix it?

Better would be to install the Firefox en-US or en - us version and install the French language pack in the profile of your daughter and only update of Firefox in your account on future opportunities. You need to reinstall the language packs after every update.

You can find the latest version of Firefox here:

  • I've just updated my Firefox, but with this update, one of my toolbars that I really want, is not compatible. Is it possible to 'come back' and get the previous Firefox so I can put my tool bar back?

The toolbar is the Norton 360 toolbar. I know that this does not affect the protection, we love just to be there and I would rather not the update of Firefox to not have this toolbar!

A Norton for Firefox 7.0 compatibility fix is available from 27/09/2011.
