Firefox 3.6 on Debian 6.0 14 takes about 20-30 seconds to connect to a Web site. Other browsers normally work fast.

Just upgraded my DSL to 7 Mbps. I did not notice the problem, if it actually occurred on the slow line. When I launch Firefox 3.6.14 (not Iceweasel) compiled for amd64, it takes about 30 seconds to connect to any website or when I change to a different Web site. Meanwhile, the message in the status bar says "Looking up" {website}. No other browsers available that, nor does my windows machines using IE or Firefox. Help > troubleshooting the dough was too big. I will sent if necessary. Thank you.

Try disabling IPv6.
