Firefox 40 + changes URL of YouTube in lowercase in the homepage

I had a YouTube video for a home page and Firefox always it went until the last update. Now Firefox changes the URL of all lowercase letters that breaks the YouTube link. I went to try to put the correct upper and lowercase letters, but Firefox changes it all just back after the next time it is closed.

A few years ago, it was reported that the Norton Toolbar (or another extension of Norton) has caused this problem: https://community.norton.com/node/751403

Someone posted about a similar problem in February but did not report back on if it was solved: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1046328

  • Firefox is change URL breakage and break links

I have links to files on a web page which is just internal servers. Whenever I click on these links in FF, they turn the first case of the lowercase drive letter and claim that the link is broken. I retype the uppercase letter and press on enter and receive my files. The HTML code shows an uppercase letter in the link.

Such a problem can be caused by an installed extension or less likely by proxy software.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

    Hello everyone
Starting last month set by the most recent firefox update I ran into an annoying accidents whenever I play youtube or something using flash for firefox it will crash a few minutes later.
So I read through the support of mozilla to fix the problem myself and did the following:
turn off hardware acceleration for firefox and adobe, search of viruses, updated my drivers and even memtest86. All to nothing not done, finally I decided to wait simply the most recent update to fix this bug. So the good news is it fixed the error nvwgf2um.dll but not msmpeg2vdec.dll.

Hmm, I would not have thought the external components of video decoding have been at the heart of the problem. The wire 'blocked' in reports is not 'die' in a video decoding function. The most recent four crashed in "garbage collection" or the functions "cycle collector", dealing with the memory. Personally, I find these difficult to understand error reports.

As a partial solution, you can use an extension that forces Flash on YouTube, as one of the following values:

Alternatively you can try to disable the MPEG decoding, but some sites are perhaps not able to "fall back" in a different format or Flash and will just error (for example, Twitter videos):

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press enter/return. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste media and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) double-click the preference media.directshow.enabled to true to false

    (4) double click on the media.mediasource.mp4.enabled preference from true to false

    (5) double-click the preference media.mediasource.webm.enabled to false to true

    (6) double-click the preference media.windows - media - foundation.enabled from true to false

The effect of everything that should be blocking MP4/h.264 decoding and place you in the latest format WebM (VP9) YouTube. You can check the result on this page, but that might not show up after leaving Firefox and start it again:

https://www.YouTube.com/HTML5 (the two h.264 should be red)

It's not so convenient for other video sites, but I'm curious to know if it helps on YouTube or has the same problems.

  • Why not Firefox 4.0 back button does not work since the homepage or google search?

I've just upgraded to firefox 4.0 tonight, and the back button is not working properly of my homepage or certain types of google searches.

I can reproduce this problem every time by following these steps:

    (1) open a new tab, and I get a blank page.
    (2) select the Home button. I find myself at http://www.google.com/ig
    (3) go to the address bar type in a new URI, and press return

Now, I leave my home page and go to the new page, but I can't go back to my home page.

Similar behavior happens if I do a search on google for the address of quick search in the upper right.

    (1) start a new tab.
    (2) enter a search term and press enter
    3) click on one of the links to research and you transition to the new page, but the back button does not work.

It works fine if I do something like:
    (1) open a new tab.
    (2) enter google.com in the address bar and press to enter.
    (3) do a GOOGLES search arae.
    4) click a search result link.

This works very well for me.

In my case, I turn off the Add McAfee SiteAdvisor 3.3.1 and the problem goes away.

  • Firefox continues to change url in the address bar, even when I type a url full. How can I force my search?

Dealing with the same companies daily, weekly, or on a very regular basis. When I get a new business account or a customer, I try to remember to delete erroneous results in the address bar. I hit the full url (.com) in the address bar, but Firefox forces of memory (or history) and the only way I can get where I'm going is to type the address from a search engine.

I have everything: completion of the configged, but that didn't work. I also tried autofill.typed, but that has not worked. I tried to change tools > address bar, but the choices are not good. I almost never search bookmarks and my story is too often used to remove. (It seems counterproductive). How can I stop Firefox forcing me to go places I want to go?

It looks like - in the sense to remember shit that I can't remember - and to do my research much more difficult.
I had problems - particularly in Amazonia. I wrote a couple of times. Nobody has ever gotten back me on why FIREFOX has so many problems. If I get answers here, how can I get answers? I don't want to use IE and I don't want to have to avoid certain websites because results suck. I'm in limbo until solutions are found.

    Thank you.

I don't know if the problem is that Firefox itself changes the address you type in the address bar, or if the site is immediately Firefox redirection to another page when trying to access the address you specified.

For example, 1 & 1 Webmail currently redirects to this site for login: https://webmailcluster.perfora.net/

  • Firefox crashing every video on youtube-viewed and want to change the video

I have a few sites, where firefox is always crashing, surfing on the sides. On these sides, firefox crashes anytime. On Youtube.com, I can always reproduce that firefox crashes:
If I watch a YouTube video, firefox crashes anytime in the course of the video, and always if I select another video of the videos listed on the side. Firefox just closes.

I had the problem on older versions of firefox. some vresions don't meet the problem. AR the time with firefox, 39, 40 and 40.0.2 still has the problem. I've had in the past (during the months ago) the same problem with a 3x.0 of firefox version, before I installed the new operating system. But now the problem is back.
The problem arises also in save mode and with a new installation of firefox (also with new user profile folders). For the moment, I have no more ideas. Maybe you can help me. If you want more material od OS me information, please do not hesitate to ask me questions. I am sure, I have all the installed updates that are available. Maybe you have an idea.
My OS is Arch Linux, so I can also give you outputs terminals for diagnosis.
    Thanks in advance.

    Update:
After browsing in the Forum of ArchLinux I found a possible solution.
After I try, firefox works so far. I think it's the solution for me.
    The solution is:
    Uninstalling the package "gstreamer-vaapi".

    So far, firefox works...

  • Yesterday my Firefox browser changed - default page was that Mozilla?

The homepage of my Firefox browser has now of a newspaper of Gone8.com + some low ad - wasn't there the day before yesterday - Mozilla has change cela or has some 3rd added something? IF it's a third party how can I get rid of him? I tried to reset the default page, but nothing has changed.

Hi dordeknet, this page doesn't appear at startup, or whenever you open a new window (for example, Ctrl + n)?

    • Only at startup: check the program icon allows you to see if a new URL has been injected in the path target Firefox start. Right click > properties > Shortcut tab.
    • Every time: If Firefox is not to honor your layout home page in the Options dialog box when you open a new window or click the Home button, make sure that you have disabled all Extensions of the addons page section (Ctrl + Shift + a > click Extensions in the left column).
  • When you use Adobe Flash on youtube for example. The player will receive more and more delays when you use the tools of player until firefox freezes for about 10 seconds.

After the delay freezing of the player will be reset to 0. I can reproduce this 'crash' by moving just my mouse on the youtube progress bar and see the delay to accrue. This only happens when firefox is my main window.

Hello, there are reports by users that comodo products may not work well with the safe_mode for firefox that adobe has introduced in its version of the plugin flash since version 11.3.

    http://forums.Adobe.com/thread/1074253

    http://forums.Comodo.com/empty-t85399.0.html

Please make sure that firefox.exe, plugin - container.exe and FlashPlayerPlugin_*.exe are not blocked or sandbox sort by your security or software in the case where it doesn't work or try to change your provider AV (I would recommend microsoft security essential, it is quite reliable and light) or downgrade to flash version 10.3.

  • Firefox crashes when I try to enter data into the URL text box.

Firefox crashes whenever I try to add data in the URL text box or the text box search in the toolbar. When it freezes it also locks on the Task Manager. However, the other routines running continue to run. I've disabled all my antivirus. always freezes. I left the Task Manager; always freezes and can't open the Task Manager. While it freezes, it is still possible to reduce the window of Firefox or resize it. If I try to kill him, I get a message "no answer."

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

  • Why Firefox keep changing my perefence for Google as an eingine search for tabs and the Yahoo homepage?

I am a user of Firefox 40.0.03. I put Google as a homepage of my start page and tabs. Lately, Firefox has started taking the freedom to change my preferences from Google to Yahoo preferences. In the last two days, I changed the setting from Yahoo to Google at least 10 times. But whenever I have shut down my system, Yahoo goes Google. I checked my system for any mischievous adware and Add-ons, but there are not.
I don't want to use Yahoo. Is it a policy of Firefox to push Yahoo down our throats?

    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/how-to-fix-preferences-wont-save

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with surf Protection, can protect the files in the folder of Firefox profile against the changes. If you have this software, then check the settings or uninstall this software.

  • How can I change the 39 firefox tabs so that they do not mix in the background so ALL tabs will be visible/colorful?

    Hello:

Previously, I had firefox 38 and was using an older version of the classic theme restaurateur v1.2.9.6 and I have no problem see the tabs colorful.

Unfortunately, given that the upgrade to firefox 39 and classic theme restaurateur v1.3.5 only colorful tab is the active tab that you currently can within (we) work, the other tab to blend into the background of persona. I know some people probably like how the inactive tabs blend into the background... I'm NOT one of those people.

It is quite difficult to see the tabs 'because' they mix in the background a little too well. Is there a way to change things so that ALL tabs even inactive tabs that I do not work on/with will be visible and visible by colorful instead of melt in some context of the persona shows at some point I mean?

    Thank you.

I wonder if this has been changed to avoid disrupting the use of light/personas themes? I don't see anything obvious in the release notes history: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/versions/

I think it's something that would go more to the author of the classic theme restaurateur. Support seems to be a very long thread here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=48 & t = 2827985

  • pouvez firefox mac read .url file?

is it possible to use mac firefox to open .url file?...
    Please advise...
    see you soon,

It is a problem of operating system not a browser problem, the URLs of the files created by internet explorer which is only compatible Windows. Therefore, the .url file type is not compatible with Mac OS or any software created for her.

However, you can extract the actual URL, you need the file:

  • I try to connect to Facebook or Youtube and Firefox crashes. I can't click anything in the window because it is simply a hung noise. What should I do?

I tried other Web pages and it works great, just when I go to sign in either Facebook or Youtube, nothing on the window is able to be clicked. He 'bumps' whenever I do, cannot yet leave the window. I have to stop my laptop to get rid of the window.

    Hello

Please open Firefox in Mode safe and test to see if the problem persists.

See here: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode

If the problem does not occur in Mode without failure, then there are chances that an Addon or parameter is causing the problem. Follow the instructions in the support above article to identify the add-on causing the problem and then disable or remove.

If the problem persists even opening in safe mode, then I suggest to do a Reset of Firefox. Once again this is possible now shift while you open Firefox (select "Reset" from the options this time).

A reset will return to its default settings of Firefox. Your history and bookmarks will be saved, but you will need to reinstall your add-ons.

Firefox - modules to reset and refresh settings

    I hope this helps.

  • Firefox clicking 20 private browsing to see a music video (ex. youtube) quite often opens the non-private tabs

When you surf privately from navigation (firefox 20 and windows operating system 7), often (not always) click to see a video clip (YouTube for example) opens the non-private tabs. I need more of the mouse
on the icon of firefox in the toolbar of quick start to show bowth ways to navigate and then open the incognito or tabs tab. Although I use chrome less then 5% of the time and 95% firefox it never happened
    with chrome.

I think that I was distracted by the appearance of private/not private...

There is a bug with the Flash plugin (version 11.3 and older) on Windows 7, even in all the non-prive navigation, where opening a page with Flash media causes this window to move behind another window of Firefox - if no other page haven't used Flash in the past 3 minutes. You can learn more about this bug in this thread: opening of new windows and Shockwave Flash.

It is possible that the isolation between the private and non-private windows has compounded this problem, if each new window gets its own load of Flash, but I have not experienced with it all away to see if this seems to be the case.
