  • Windows7 64 bit. Why the desktop icons all be empty when you run Firefox nightly for the first time?

Every time after I get a Firefox Nightly update and run it, it will display the next page:
    https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/nightly/firstrun/?oldversion=30.0 which is fine.
But when it opens this page, all my desktop icons go clear/white and one by one, they all return with their correct icons. And all this happens in a few seconds.
Why is the operation of Firefox every night for the first time, my desktop icons?

I suspect that you have both nightly and Firefox version installed?

It's different from what you have first published here with!
Firefox 33.1.1 represents the latest version - a 32-bit version.

Whereas, the version you first posted here with was a generation of 64-bit channel every night from July. Every night is for "Alpha-testers" and is updated every day, where the name of "night".

Everything that happens in the background on the Windows desktop should not be of concern right now, every night Win 64 bit is several months out.

How can I get rid of my desktop icon after installing Firefox 8.0.1?

Make sure that Firefox is installed correctly.
Open the image (DMG) disk Firefox with a double-click if necessary file and drag the Firefox program folder of the application on your hard drive.
You should not double-click the Firefox application to run from the disk image and drag it out of the DMG file instead.

  • How to remove the Firefox disk icon

I uninstalled Firefox last week because I had problems with computer (fans) after the last update. Just a coincidence I think because I continued to have the same problems after uninstalling, so I reinstalled it today. However, I'm unable to remove an orange square drive? my desktop icon. I can only take it off if I leave Firefox. After opening Firefox again, I not only to get the icon back, but I also get training install area once again, that is to say... big box with blue and orange Firefox icon dictate to put in my file of the application. If I do this, Firefox re - install once again, and I start over. I restarted my computer hoping that would be useful, but it did not. If it's harmless, ok, but he was never there for the many years I have used Firefox and it's a pain to have to click on the box and also have the icon on my desktop, all the time.

You're clicking on the stub Installer to launch Firefox after that you already installed. Please remove any installer stub after you have already added the icon in the Applications folder.

You can then pin it to your doc so that Setup of heel will no longer launch icon.

  • Since the update of the 16 to 17, shortcuts to office created by dragging show generic Windows icon instead of the Firefox-page icon.

During the upgrade of the FF 16 or 17, I can always drag the icon that is to the left of the url on the desktop (or even quick launch of XP, shortcuts to files, etc.) to create an internet shortcut to the current page. However, with 17 this method produces a shortcut that shows a generic Windows icon instead of a Firefox-page icon. Even if a generic Windows icon shows normally "no associated program," these always open with FF when double-clicked. But it does not look good. (BTW, all of the shortcuts created by this method in FF 16 or less preserved the FF-page 17 updated icon.)

No idea why this has changed and how to fix it so that it looks the same as before?

Pending the resolution of the present (and another question) I went back to 16 FF, and it works normally again. However, shortcuts that were created while I had 17 always display the generic Windows icon.

  • Desktop icons disappear

Having just downloaded the latest Firefox update (I'm on the beta channel), as soon as it restarts, five of my desktop icons disappeared. I have more than 60 icons on my desktop and I don't remember what they are. Is it possible to know what icons have disappeared and the recovery please?

    Hi markyb208,

I'm not sure what you have a problem with Firefox.

Are you talking about icons on your Windows 7 desktop. In a standard installation, Firefox will try to add an icon on the desktop, but it shouldn't do something to remove the icons.

  • Firefox shortcut ICONS

    Help!

I am running Firefox and when I create a shortcut for my taskbar and or the toolbar, the icon is just a generic icon as opposed to the actual WEB page ICON that I put on the desktop.

    Someone help?

Create the icon for the desktop and drag and drop it into Dees bar tasks or the toolbar.  It should have the icon with it.  If you cannot create another shortcut with the icon you want, and then copy the desktop icon and move the copy.

If this isn't the case, right-click on the icon in the task bar or the tool bar and click Properties, and then click the icon.  Change the icon of all that you want is available.  The icon of Firefox is probably in program files Firefox if I had to guess - I don't know where he is.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Desktop icons not working not

I tried to install a program earlier for the notebook of the teacher through a program called PowerSchool.  In the end, the application does not work on my Windows 7 laptop, but I find myself with desktop icons that don't work anymore.  All the desktop icons, (Google, Firefox, Explorer, iTunes, Picassa, you name, are no longer works and have been replaced by the Explorer "e" icon.)  When I click on an icon that would normally connect directly on iTunes, instead a window pops up "view downloads Internet Explorer."

What should I do so that my icons back to working relationships?

  • Why, suddenly, my desktop icons are difficult to align because they can be moved very small distances?

For years, my desktop icons have acted as if they have so many 'slots' to enter in on the office. But this has never been a problem. They were easier to align because they were right next to each other, or a 'slot' above/below/apart.

Now, for some reason, I can travel distances of small icons on the desktop, as if they were scalar elements which can be minimally pushed open. Suddenly there are not more "slots", and sort of paradoxically icons are more difficult to assemble and align because I have to keep their repositioning so that they are straight. Before, they were either straight, or a whole notch offline.

It is NOT correct. Right-click and select Show , and then turn on Align
