FF4b10 don't ask to save tabs on exit more

Since the update of FF4b9 beta10 FF do not ask more to save tabs open to the output. Simply, it closes at the same time and does not restore my tabs at the next startup. Is there a change in behavior or adjustment, which has changed its default value or is it just a bug in beta10? All versions of FF4 to Beta9 has worked well.

Warning message preferences have been set to false by default in current versions of Firefox 4 beta. (Change of silly IMO.)

You can set the preferences of warning on the subject: config page to true via the context menu or toggle with a double click of the left.

  • Firefox does not ask to save tabs, windows and exit

I've done everything suggested in this article:

    In 'Options' settings are ok.
I don't have the extensions/themes. And the problem is still there on the safe mode.
Out of the two files mentioned as maybe corrupted, I deleted formhistory.sqlite but the sessionstore.js file is not in the profile directory, the closing of Firefox (as the article suggests... it is there when Firefox is open)

    What is the start setting?

Tools > Options > general > startup: 'when Firefox starts '.

In Firefox 3, you don't get popup "Save and quit" dialog box if you choose Tools > Options > general > startup: "When Firefox starts": "show my windows and tabs from last time '.

If this option is selected then your pages will be already reopened the next time.

To get this pop up dialog box, select one of the other options (display my home page, display a blank page).

You can reset the preferences of warning on the subject: the configuration via the context menu page.

  • Cannot save tabs on exit

I just upgraded to Firefox 4.0 on the PC under Windows XP and lost the ability to save to the output of the navigation tabs.

I looked at the troubleshooting information in Firefox Support and tried to implement without success. sessionstore.js did not have the js extension. I added the extension, but I still have not a dialog box asking whether to save the tabs.

I do a lot of research and writing, so it's an important feature for me.

One of the changes in Firefox 4: by default Firefox 4 does not display the warning "Save tabs and exit" then to the closure of several tabs, but it can be turned on again by changing some preferences.

    • Record of the tabs was not removed from Firefox 4, but it works a little differently.

      • By default, Firefox 4 will not ask to save tabs, but instead it will always save your tabs in the output. You can restore the next time by selecting "Restore previous Session" in the history menu, or by pressing the button restore Firefox's default homepage.

  • Version 14.0.1 won't save tabs on exit.

All HELP articles I've found are for version 4 - I version 14. One thing you can do is put the most recent problems first, NOT the problems of there are 10 versions.

I want the default to be ALWAYS SAVE TABS ON EXIT. This sale option, an easy place to find, like the TOOLS / OPTIONS / TABS section. It seems that this has been an ongoing problem for several versions of FIREFOX. I had it available in earlier versions, but it isn't here now. Why would you take it?

Nothing has changed in this area of Firefox 4, so if you have found solutions for older versions you should check out them.

In any case it seems that you want your old tabs restored, without any indication, and it is more likely that you have changed your option, if you think that it comes to be modified in version 14. Response of Verdi, specifically you want to 'show my windows and tabs from last time' where you set your homepage options, see

    http://support.Mozilla.org/KB/restore-previous-session#w_configuring-session-restore

  • Even with "ask to save tabs" unchecked, Firefox keeps asking to save tabs

    Firefox for Linux 32.0.

The option "warn me when closing multiple tabs" is disabled in my preferences, but every time I close many tabs Firefox request "Do you want Firefox saves your tabs for the next time."

I then check "do not ask next time", and when I restart the browser, the "warn me when closing multiple tabs" is always disabled, but still asking to save the tabs in Firefox.

Also, in my remarks: the browser.tabs.warnOnClose config displays "false".
However, Firefox does not seem to respect that.

So in fact, Firefox remembers my settings, but doing the opposite?

How can I get Firefox to respect the settings and disable this close tab warning message?

    There are also these prefs:

    • browser.tabs.warnOnCloseOtherTabs
    • browser.showQuitWarning
    • browser.warnOnQuit
  • Save tabs on exit

I followed the instructions to rename files in the folder of Firefox and tried to solve my some add-ons.
Since the upgrade to v4 I wonder is whether I want to save tabs.
    Please advise...
    Thank you

    • Tools > Options > tabs: check "warn when closing multiple tabs".
    • Tools > Options > general > startup: select 'open my home page '.
    • Type of topic: config in the address bar, hit enter, filter by browser.showQuitWarning, set it to the value True.

Please let us know if that fixes the problem.

  • 18.0.1 version won't save tabs on exit.

My FF was just updated today to 18.0.1 self and now when I close FF it does not save my tabs. I've always had "When FF starts" the value "show my windows and tabs from last time.

I saw a 14.0.1 earlier problem that said delete sessionstore.js but when my FF is closed there is no sessionstore file in the folder of my FF profile. What is the problem? That does so I have a file sessionstore in fixing sessions?

    Thank you.

You can try to rename or delete the file prefs.js and possible prefs - numbered # .js and a user.js file possible to restore the values all default prefs.

You can create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.

    See "create a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile in the new profile, but make sure not to copy corrupted files.

  • How to restore the ability to choose whether to save tabs on exit (I need this abandoned feature.

On my laptop, I no longer get a choice, the closing of Firefox, if to save the tabs for the next time that I open Firefox.

I use 4 different computers. It is impossible to remember the computer on which I want to restore a previous session, then the choice of restoration when I start any computer is available doesn't help, compared to the old system, which allowed me to choose to exit, when I could clearly see if I had a session that was to be preserved.

The intention was that you should / could use history ('Alt + S') > restore previous session after bringing to the top of Firefox.

But this means that you must remember to do.

You can still have the old behavior and regardless of how you answer at the end of the session, you can still get back your previous session.

Previous versions of Firefox, when you went to close the window, she appeared on a window with options. I think they were saving tablets, Close Tabs and cancel. The new version, Firefox 4, is no longer allows you to save your tabs. Is there another way to close Firefox and save the tabs?

Yes, Firefox 4 will now always save your tabs, and you can restore the next time by selecting "Restore previous Session" in the history menu, or press the big restore button on the default Firefox homepage.

  • After using groups of tabs earlier today, now whenever I close FF with more than 1 open tab, FF don't ask me to confirm before closing

After using groups of tabs earlier today, now whenever I close FF with more than 1 open tab, FF don't ask me to confirm prior to closing. FF always asked me to confirm in the past and no settings have been changed before you try tab groups. Then when I open FF it again all the tabs I had open are still there. I tried refreshing FF and erase history, but that did not work. It's almost as if FF think windows and tabs I have open are a group of tabs, and he won't let me get rid of this group. How to stop groups of tabs now that I have them? Or is there something else? None of this was going on until this morning, I played with tab groups. I was curious what it was - it's going to make me kill one of these days lol.

Note that using "show my windows and tabs from last time" as the start setting will also prevent Firefox to display an alert when you close the window.

  • Firefox Password Manager don't ask if it should save passwords - RESOLVED

I used both Keefox and Secure Login at the same time. Probably the wrong thing to do, but they don't seem to be in conflict. However, I have no doubt eventually will go with only Secure Login (in collaboration with the FF password manager).

For the most part, Secure Login works well because I have many saved PWs (and none listed as exceptions, or I'm doing private browsing); and, where appropriate, get framed gold deposits that fill up when you click the Secure Login key on the toolbar. However, I just discovered a site of Wells Fargo (https://www.wellsfargo.com) I have to sign in the fact that I think the set-up of an account. However, Manager of PW FF don't ask me if I want to save the name of user/pw? In other words, after you have entered the user name and pw, FF password manager is not asking that these fields do not forget. Cannot understand why not because he asked me to save other sites PWs? BTW, I've disabled Keefox, didn't erase cookies, but still fresh, started no PW guest record.

  • Firefox isn't me WARNING when closing multiple tabs and it should be, and the ability to save tabs missing

    Hi all

Not sure if it's something with Firefox 30, but this problem appears again.

In fact, first when I was close the browser with multiple tabs open, it warned me with the little popup, but it wasn't the "do you want Firefox to save your tabs for the next time it starts? It was just the warning of closure which said "you are about x tabs. Are you sure that you want to continue? »

So, who was recently #1 problem. I want the option to save and exit. But only in the last few days, it seems, is not even show this close attention now. With several tabs open, it closes just to the bottom of the browser. When opening Firefox again, tabs have been restored, at least it's a good thing, although weird.

I wonder how come back asking to "Save and exit" or "Quit" or "Cancel" as before.

In response to some requests for information as possible, here is some information that you may be asking, which I already checked:
-as appropriate on: configuration settings are all set to true already, such as browser.tabs.warnOnClose and browser.showQuitWarning
-in tools > Options, "warn me when closing multiple tabs" is checked, and "show my windows and tabs from last time" is selected for the start of Firefox. Nothing has changed!
-safe mode does not solve the problem; Firefox closes always just if I quit or press the red X.
-"Always use the private browsing mode" is unchecked.
-I didn't run a program like CCleaner between sessions

I have not changed anything, but this problem happening! I hope someone can help me to solve this problem and go back to the way it was, where accidentally close Firefox could be avoided and restore the previous session was possible.

    Thank you!

Well well, with more tests and the help of my boyfriend, what I've learned, it's that tabs "Save and exit" dialogue prevails over the caveat to the closure of several tabs.

With browser.showQuitWarning set to true, it will ask me to save and exit - but not if "show my windows and tabs from last time" is selected to start Firefox, who dismisses the prompt to save and leave (and close several tabs warning). It will save just for you to quit smoking.
And had I disabled this browser.showQuitWarning manually or by selecting "do not ask next time" on the Sava and dialogue to quit smoking, then the warning for closing multiple tabs seems to try to close multiple tabs, since I warn the option in my settings of the tabs.

It is one or the other, save and exit or warning to the closure of several tabs.
It would be nice but if it was not a conflict between the fence several warning tabs and Firefox abandoning dialogue.

So, I hope this can help someone else who may be confused or accidentally to change options and potentially be screwed on. After all, I can an injury self-inflicted in the settings.
