Firewall Windows with advanced security and mmc microsoft management console

I want to know how to run the MMC snap-in. You load them in the tree of the Console at all times? The center column takes them and then what? This thing is huge and I can't find any questions about it on the community boards. I mean, REALLY, it is complex, and I'm sure that most people do not know how it works. Microsoft Management Console. Snap ins someone explain this - start with - that is meant by the snap ins all about and how to use them. Microsoft has a video to watch? Explain the purposes and uses. And how it relates to Windows Firewall with advanced security?
I just had a "Nerd" pro retrieves a hacker to my machine. The pirate had resumed MMC and Windows Firewall. I want to learn this now.

Hello

Thanks for the display of the query to the Microsoft Community. If I understand correctly, you want to learn more about the Microsoft Management Console.

You can go through the article and check. Here is another article on the Microsoft Management Console. You can navigate on the article for more information about MMC. Here is some additional information on the addition of the software component Certificates snap-in to an MMC.

You can also view the request here.

Hope this information was helpful and let us know if you need help in the future about Windows. We will be happy to help you.

  • Firewall Windows with advanced security rules do not take effect immediately?

Hello everyone, I seem to have a problem with the Windows Firewall with advanced security. I put a rule that should prevent some IP address the ability to send packets to any port on my pc, however, it doesn't seem to work, said ip was still able to send packets until I installed the third-party firewall. That's what 'the netsh advfirewall firewall show = rulename rule name' indicates:

    Activated: Yes
    Direction: in
    Profiles: Domain, private, Public
    Group:
    LocalIP: all
    RemoteIP: x.x.x.x/32
    Protocol: all
    Traversed side: No.
    Action: block
Protocol used to send packets was UDP.
Is it normal that the rules from windows firewall do not take effect immediately?

Thanks for the reply, I checked the Windows Firewall service, it is set to automatic, and two long-term services are started (BFE and MPSDRV). It turns out that the PC was connected to the Public network, while the Windows Firewall has been enabled only for the private profile. Activation of the firewall for the public profile, did the trick.

    Thanks for your comments.
  • Firewall Windows with advanced security on Windows 8, lack of predefined rules

I only noticed the problem initially because the network discovery is disabled, and no matter what I did I could not turn it back on. The necessary services were already running and I could navigate manually to other computers on the network, but they could not see or have access to the mines. I went and checked the Windows Firewall and found that there are no rules, at all. Disable Windows Firewall allows me to turn on discovery network without any problems. Well, I like to keep my operational firewall. After searching online, run the SFC system (with no results), I read that I could use "netsh advfirewall reset" to restore the predefined rules, but I am welcomed the error "a WF (0x3) fatal error has occurred." If it is a virus, I can't find it. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I found a solution.  Thank you Google.  Sorta scary things hard like that, unknown people but I backed up and it worked:

"After running it (and the boy he gets busy), I could leave"Advanced settings"in the firewall configuration panel 'Restore default policy' and ' import policy" to load one that I could get by exporting it from my backup kicked.  At least now it seems OK and I was able to get us back on the network and turn on sharing.
This demonstrates a real problem with services like these that you can export only the information an initialized backup and running and not some kind of configuration file that could be found from a mounted backup.  Windows is full of that kind of stuff.

  • Microsoft Management Console error: this function is not supported on this system. Also noticed that the automatic updates did not install it and returned error 80070005.

Original title: Microsoft Management Console this feature only is not supported on this system

I am running Vista 32 bit Business since an administrator account.

Recently, I noticed that the automatic updates did not install it and returned error 80070005.   After investigation, I found that I could not open mmc at all and always get the message "this function no is not supported on this system.  No major changes have been made to the configuration to trigger it and I can't watch the event log because it is in the MMC.
I have studied this question in line and tool the following actions, which none worked:
carried out a complete antivirus scan (I use Commodo internet security)
    created another account administrator
    has run SFC (no problem)
has run the registry cleaner (no problem)
has run msconfig.exe and disabled all the startup process
updated windows right click and run as administrator
Started in safe mode and tried all above
After that, I don't know where to go... it doesn't seem to be a download for Windows vista to reinstall mmc.
I have about 50 updates critical, sitting in my windows update that can not install because of this problem.  Can anyone help?

  • What are the tasks we can perform by using Component Services in the Microsoft Management Console?

    Original title: use MMC

Can someone enlighten me on component services, found in the administrative tools, including the management console folder. Is their anything that can be done by someone who has no knowledge on this subject, extensive Windows, I use XP (SP3) thank you.

    Hi ratchet.

Microsoft Management Console (MMC) lets system administrators create much more flexible user interfaces and customize administration tools.

See this link for the tasks that we can perform using Component Services in the Microsoft Management console.

With Component Services, administrators can deploy and administer service applications of components through a graphical user interface or automate administrative tasks using a programming or scripting language. Software developers can use Component Services to visually configure routine component and behavior of the application, such as security and participation in transactions, and to integrate components into Component Services applications.

    (1) I added Google Chrome to the list of programs supported in Windows Firewall.

    (2) I restored the default settings of the firewall.
