I have a Linksys E1000 with Firmware Version: 2.1.02 I'm having a very hard time looking to see if there is a newer Version out Firmware for this model. Is the person who works here who can tell me please if there is a new update of the Firmware?

You have the latest version of the firmware.

  • Download manual Firmware EA4500

It seems that there is currently no way to update firmware of the EA series manually.

  • cannot no new firmware tftp to e2000

I'm Flash a firmware for an E2000 using the TFTP (supposedly) integrated in the bootstrapper.  I don't seem to have no luck.

When I turn on the router, it is not even repsond ping 192.168.1.1 for 12 seconds, time at which it is already started in the currently installed firmware.

I tried just pushing the firmware several times with a 1 second delay and turn the router but he abandoned only about 12 seconds later with an invalid password, because at this point, the router is started.

What Miss me on the ability to Flash this thing?

So my goal here was to get OpenWRT on this router, but the OpenWRT firmware for this router doesn't suppor flashed from firmware 'factory' Linksys.

But DD - WRT firmware does.  So I updated (because DD - WRT Linksys firmware update) to DD - WRT first.

But ultimately I wanted to OpenWRT on it, so I copied the firmware OpenWRT to the router and then used mtd - r write /tmp/openwrt_firmware.bin linux, but it was actually the wrong thing to do.  I guess that invalidated the image on the router and when I restarted it, the bootstrapper tftp server was actually ready to take a new firmware.

In any case, I OpenWRT on there now and this router now acts as a distribution switch of VLAN (tagged trunk in, 4 networks not marked on) for my house.

  • EA-4500 cannot connect in the configuration page

I try to connect to my EA4500 Setup page. I have the firmware "cloud connect" and when I get redirected to the "Linksys Smart Wi - Fi" page in my browser, I try to log in as usual. He accepts my username and password, then I get a page that contains a rotating chart and it says "waiting...". "He eventualy expires and brings back me to the login screen. I have tried rebooting my router and it does not help. I also unplugged the modem from the internet connection and entered the main router password, and gives me the same answer that if I tried to connect via the cloud.

The only thing I can think of would be to do a factory reset of the router, but based on what is happening here, I'm frankly scared that I will never get my router online. I really wanted this cloud thing to work, but if I can get connected I will probably be back to the old firmware. Linksys gave us?

I tried on several computers in the House and still have the same answer - no access to the router. At the end of the day, I did a factory reset and was finally able to get into the router. It was a pain to have to re - install my router, but at least I got all devalued parameters.

For memory, the firmware had not changed since the introduction of the services cloud in June/July. I have the same exact firmware I downloaded in July. The only thing that has changed is that Cisco renamed "cloud connect" web interface for "Smart Wifi."  The web interface seems a little faster, but there are still a lot of wait time.

I must be honest, based on this event, I was ready to go back to the old firmware, however, I'll give it one more chance to see if things will be better, or at least stabilize...

  • NSLU2 dead?

    Hello world

I got my NSLU2 for a few days and had no luck with it, I can't be seen from the network. I'm on the edge to return it, but it of a nice camera and hate go back if I could get it to work again, but just something miss me.

Out of the box, I followed the instructions to the wire, but to step 8, where it says "you are about to change the settings... "I click OK, and then waited. After a few minutes, it gave an error saying that it could not communicate with the device. Since then I have never seen back on the network.

I flashed with the latest firmware from Linksys (06/07/2005, ver. 2.3R63) using the program upslug2 (after some difficult Windows login with the updater series I used a Ubuntu live disk). This flash has been a success, but the nslu2 behavior is exactly the same.

I hit the button to reset for about 2 seconds and waited 30 minutes

I hit the button to reset for 10 seconds and waited..,.

I unplugged for about 10 minutes, and then back in and waited.

I also realized my 192.168.1. * network used instead of 192.168.0. *, but I am that too without a change in behavior after either type of reset.

Behavior seems normal from all the forums and the info I've read, it starts flashing the light within a few seconds of being powered and stops just never.

I missed something? What can I try now? The flash to an older firmware... ?

    Thanks for your help,

    Brett

All I had to do was set up my router to not auto-negotiation ethernet settings, now all is fine! Who built a device these days who can not handle auto... weird!

Okay, I guess I don't have to worry about that kind of thing in telnet. Now on what I wanted to do there are days, using the disk hard network!

    Thanks for your help.

  • 2.4 ghz wifi band no longer works

I have a WRT1900ACS and in recent weeks I've noticed that the wifi 2.4 ghz work so no devices can connect to this band at all even after only a restart, but it will start working again after some time has passed, while the 5 ghz range is unafffected and work seemslessly and is very stable. It is a screenshot of the configuration below. In addition, this is my second WRT1900ACS which has the same problem as the one that they replaced

This problem has happened while I've updated to the latest firmware and linksys is not able to resolve this

None of those who should be cause a problem with Wifi.

On the expiration of the warranty, I do not think this is the case, he sells this device on their own website as source open ready.

Here are a few links on DD - WRT and process upgrade/downgrade. (The link sets out the process for a WRT1900AC but it is the same process for the candidate countries, so make sure that you have the ACS firmware version and not the enough)

  • [WRT54GS] Forward a port to a different port

    Hello

I have the router WRT54GS v1.1. His version of software is v4.71.1

I want to forward a port (e.g. 80) on a different port on my server on my area (for example, 8080).

So when a user signs in to http://domain.com url, the request is forward on port 8080 of my server.

I found on the page of my router configuration, port forwarding, but the target port cannot be specified.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks for your help.

    Sausage

N ° it is not possible with the Linksys firmware. Linksys added port forwarding only in later models.

If you need you can try the 3rd party firmware like dd - wrt. Allow you to forward ports.

  • Needed support replacing WRT610N

I have more product Linksys here and tell everyone to use Linksys for years I have many items in cabnet do not use.

Well I got a $$$ WRT610N and totally had problems and it all boils down internal the software of linksys. "I run all these on my home 2xDMA WRT610N 2200" Linksys ", WGA11B"Linksys"old XBOX, XBOX 360, Wii, 2xLaptops, 3xDesktops a webserver.

The main problem is the Linksys SIP ACK block and my USB VOIP MagicJack linksys phone system completely dislike.

Cisco set the correct programming to linksys team crew and keep the product linksys with a good reputation and I will stop using DD - WRT Firmware on your system. As I think it is quite sad that the pirates free make the firmware that works for my support while manufacturing fail to support standard products or option in the GUI of linksys.

    MBCMDR

I am at a total loss and love hearing entered Linksys Rep.

I've been a customer of Linksys with multi products and long term.  Why did your Firmware not updated or fixed quickly? Why I ask this, because now I'm using dd - wrt firmware because linksys doesn't have support while DD - WRT offer support free firmware for a product they manufacture. They have a general forum like Linksys and you specify your problem. If you have any type of problem, even minor indicate you this in the Ant there they replcate it and write a fix. I know especially they relies to support extra, optiondans GUI to make things don't not necessary but some soft elements.

I don't have the problem of the WRT610N do it yourself resets on own for no reason even after he did with Linksys FW_WRT610N_1.00.02.10_US_20090121_code.bin, I have more problem ACK SIP with my VOIP. ETC.

Now under DD - WRT V24 - 11886_mega - WRT610N.bin Yes, they jump release numbers, but at least they offer firmware for my system and multi other routers.

  • Port Forwarding WRT54G V6

Hey people. I recently replaced a much older wireless with a new Linksys router too me of WRT54G. Before configuring, I set all the settings to factory default and installed the latest firmware from Linksys. I configured my network security enable wireless and checked the operation successfully.

My next step is to set up port forwarding because I host an Exchange Server at my home and no transfer, it does not work very well.

I'll add here that my old router was fully functional and I replaced it only so that I could use Wireless-G devices.

I configured and activated all the port forwarding just as I had in the old model, but it doesn't seem to work. I tried to access my E-MAIL and remote in (RDP) access from the outside without success. My mail server using port 940 for EMAIL (I am a customer of Comcast and they blocked port 25. I use a service to DNSEXIT having my email delivered to the port of 940) and am able to telnet from a command prompt inside (IE "telnet 192.168.x.x 940') but not from the outside using my WAN IP address.

I have already placed the old unit back online and verified that it works OK. I struggle to believe that the 'port forwarding' is broken in the most recent device. Is it possible there is another choice that must be made in the Setup? Any educated guesses or answers are welcome.

    Kind regards

    Norm

Never mind. Apparently, Comcast gave me a different IP address at a given time and change picked up by my dynamic DNS service has not yet spread through the etherworld immediately.

You're going to like Comcast. (maybe it's time to get a static IP address)

  • EA4500 doesn't have a firmware update?

Due to a new internet connection and router free (Fritzbox... very decent) my new ISP, I got the idea to stop using us as a bridge on the floor of the seconds of my house and the EA4500 as my main router. I connected it connected to my PC and I saw there was a possible upgrade for the firmware... might as well.

By clicking on the button upgrade was not really successful, there is a status bar not go/improvement for about 5 minutes, so I dropped that one. Downloaded the right file here: http://www.linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=148385 and downloaded one manually, improved status bar and I got the message the router has been reset. Sweet, I thought... but alas the router has not been handed over in line and the port light keeps blinking. Waited for about half an hour before trying to remedy.

    Tried so far:

    1 soft reset

    2. hard reset

    3. power off, wait a few minutes, hard reset again

After the above, still only a flashing light to port. Any ideas?

Noted. For now, please follow instructions on this linkworkarounds. If all else fails, send us an email to [email protected]; Please indicate your contact details and the link to this topic.

  • EA4500 firmware upgrade failure and subsequent problems

I had a few problems of intermittent connection with my ea4500 so I decided to upgrade the firmware for the Smart Wifi. I lost my connection to about 90% and could not get the router to connect with my ISP since then.  I am able to bypass it and go straight from the modem to the desktop, but I now have several errors trying to use the router. I tried to hook it up several times but no luck so far.  The errors are:

Your computer failed to renew its address from the network (from the DHCP server) for the network card with network address 001BFC522BCC.  The following error occurred:

The operation was cancelled by the user. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the server network address (DHCP).

    And

Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection adapter: Adapter link down

The problem has created an xbox for emergency home for my 7 year old grandson. Minecraft appealed to him.

Good thing it's working already. Moreover, with the Linksys Wifi Smart, Cisco Connect firmware update would be uninstalled and you can not use more with the new firmware. You can make changes by access to the content of your Wifi Smart of Linksys account.

  • On buy the EA4500 don't want to update the firmware of cloud

Hi, im about to buy a Linksys EA4500 router. Ive read that there is a forced update. And I have to use the cloud. If I brought the EA4500 and connected to my pc but it not connected my modem for internet access. And then to the web interface. Y at - it an option to turn off the manual upgrade of the automatic updates Ie and uncheck the update automatically on the firmware option coming out of the EA4500 in a box?
    THX in advance

Hello! If you want to disable the automatic update, all you have to do is to access the Advanced Settings page by typing 192.168.1.1 in a browser address bar. He will try to guide you with the Setup process, but you can skip (you will see a link to skip the installation). If it asks for the local login, use "admin". Click the connectivity on the left tab. Once the window opens, you will see a check mark for "Automatic" under firmware update. Uncheck the box and click on apply. BTW, even if the router has the firmware of the cloud, you can always choose to access locally and not through cloud.

  • Linksys EA4500 all just terrible!

I've owned this router for over a year. Using this router has been the worst experience with routers ever. Let me count the ways: 1 non-existent Support Linksys is now owned by Belkin 2 Firmware updates 1 and it was awful and should be deployed 3 constantly remove connections, worst performance I saw. 4 cloud bloatware, no value added to the router service. 5-speed connection never connected to the FIOS maxspeed 6 would not give it to my worst enemy 7 support, support, support. Interview about known issues never discussed. 8 is a boat anchor good. That's all. I've since replaced this with a Netgear WNDR4300 router. Excellent!

Do what I did, take it back and buy Netgear! Works 100% of the time and to double the coverage in my house. Linksys is not reliable co, allows it to be.
Do yourself a favor and get rid of it!

  • Linksys N900 EA4500 speed problem

    Hi guys,.

I recently updated my ISP one up to 55 Mbps service (new modem - cisco DPC3008). I did some speed tests and what goes directly from modem pc my reaced 57.27 speed down and 10.72 upward.

When you browse the EA4500 router I can get 10.50 down and 3.73 upward. I read through a few recent discussions to go to the router configuration and

-Prioritation media-settings-the downstream bandwidth is fixed at 10945 kbit/s.

I tried to change to 55000 since I'm now up to 55 Mbps. In addition to the support WMM is defined on IT. I checked to see if the router is in need of an update of the firmware and the unit shows the firmware is uo to date. As soon as I leave the screen and return only the bandwidth is changed to 10945.

Does anyone have an idea on how to get the router to Max which will result in the modem?

    Thank you. Bruno

    Thanks to FurryNutz. Problem solved
