Firmware SG300

I see new firmware is available for the 300 SG switches.

I can download the firmware file, but when I try to view the release notes there is a message saying access denied and additional authorization is required.

This can be corrected?

I received a new SG300-28 with 1.2.9.44 FW and Boot version 1.1.0.6.  A couple of weeks, I got a SG500-28 and I udated on Sx500_FW_1.3.0.62 ros and Sx500_BOOT_1.3.0.03 rfb.  I checked for the current version for the SG300-28 and I downloaded Sx300_FW_1.3.0.62.ros but found nothing to START, but they do not have a zip of MIBs_Sx300_v1.3.0.59 which is a folder full of mib and my file, any file of rfb.

1, what is this MIB file for

2nd, why no update BOOT file

3rd, given that the number of revisions of the file is the same for both the SG300 and SG500 are indeed the same file or are they really adapted to the model where the name prefaced to the number.

4th, if the files are the same then could, should I use the SG500 for the SG300 STARTUP file.  As a general rule, I would never do that with knowing so nobody knows?  I find it odd that the SG500 had new files for both and the SG300 does not work or maybe I just don't yet found.

Hello Vini, traditionally start codes have been integrated in the firmware. On the old switches starting and firmware were 2 separate but which proved to be quite a problem.

If you try to load the Sx500 trunk to the Sx300 switch it will probably give error of unknown or incorrect file type.

  • Convert software SRW2048 SG300

In my view, the SRW series is the same as basic material the SG300 series.

Is there a way to update the firmware on the series SRW using firmware SG300?

The SG300 firmware is much more usable. Also I'd rather have consistency we have the old SRW2024/48 and new switches SG300.

    Bob

    David,

    You are on point.

the 300 series is an Update replacement and hardware and software of the oldest product SRW.

If you have purchased order p/n SRW2008 the updated version here in the United States that's so order p/n SRW2008-K9-NA

We made the change in order p/n for reasons of consistency so that if you ordered SRW2008 in the past you order now SRW2008-K9-xx

where xx is a code region for regulatory requirements and power.

SRW2008 was a linksys product while replacing, SRW2008-K9-NA, is for example a Cisco product that now takes care of switching L3, IPv6 and a bearable CLI and a whole bunch of new features.

    SRW2008-K9-NA has a cisco SG300-10 p/n internal.

    Hello

I like to think to upgrade the bootloader file(sx300_boot-13506.rfb) first, before trying the firmware. Boot loader are on the same zip folder as the firmware.you can use TFTP server to upgrade the bootstrapper.

Interface WEB SG300 Cisco > Administration > file management > TFTP... When you select TFTP option for the fw 'BOOT' button is now available. Just type the name of the file and it should load the boot firmware.

  • The SG300 1.3.0.59 firmware bug

Hi all, I am having trouble with this firmware in a SG300-28 switch. In fact the DHCP server, a new feature in this version of firmware, does not work properly. DHCP static public reservations do not work: customer ID and MAC address are not recognized properly, and the DHCP server assigns the first free IP address in the pool, rather than reserved.

If Cisco engineers reading this, plese fix.

The issue is well documented in this thread, and it is present in the 500 series too:

    https://supportforums.Cisco.com/message/3941468#3941468

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks, Andrea

Hello Andrea, the command is available on the global config

    The dhcp server IP

If the command is not available, it is because you do not use 1.3.0.59 at least. I'm under 1.3.0.59 and 1.3.0.62 and two software images have the command available.

  • Firmware series SG300 SRW?

Is it possible to Flash the firmware on a SRW2008 SG300-10?

    Hello Gerald,

My name is Nico Muselle and I work for Cisco Small Business Support Center. Please use the support forum.

Your question, it's indeed impossible to use the Sx300 firmware on SRW switches that have no K9 in their model name. The reason is that the new range of switches use a different hardware platform.

For previous models of SRW, indeed the 'Web' mode is supported only in Internet Explorer, this issue was raised, but so far no solution has been provided.

  • SG300-28 - Firmware 1.2.7.76 with the MAC: how to use the VLAN? (Bugs00131469)

    Hallo,

can you please explain to me this problem more in detail, please:

    ##################################################################

Problem: When a port Transceiver allowed tent of to re-authenticate and RADIUS

attributes no longer target attributes VLAN, re-authentication breaks down and the

port must become unauthorized. This is not the case, and the port is not.

    (Bugs00131469)

Solution: Do not delete attributes of VLANS on a RADIUS server or unplug

network cable and plug it in again to force the failure.

    ##################################################################

I use an assignment VLAN dynamic for my known hosts of the network (authentication MAC) based only. But there are people from other companies who use their own computer and this computer does not know on my RADIUS server. These people should use the VLAN comments. In general they disconnect the LAN cable from a host that is known on my SHELF and put the LAN cable into their laptop (which is not known by the RADIUS server).

Does this mean that this port will remain in the VLAN old or the switch will change the port the the guest VLAN?

And what happens if I reconnect the computer to know about this port?

This feature is very important to me, but I need the functionality of the new firmware RADIUS accounting. So please give me some advice!

    Thank you very much!

    Alexander Wilke

    Hello, Alexander.

When connecting to an unknown host to the switch, it should go to a VLAN authenticated or if you use the VLAN comments, it must be created statically a VLAN on the switch. With the comments-VLAN-Enable, the switch automatically assigns a port as a member not marked. When the port is allowed, the switch will have to move the port to VLAN comments when the first applicant authorizes.

Basically, this bug listed above says not to make changes to your information RADIUS server of VLAN and if you do, unplug the network and reconnect it.

My name is David Aguilar, and I am an engineer with Cisco Small Business Center. Thanks for writing.

The SG300 series can't RIP. Only static routes (up to 32) are supported. However, models of SG500X support the dynamic routing RIP version 2 Protocol.

A Department has recently employed more people, so we have a SG200 switch to connect the computers and phones. I don't seem to be able to get all the connectivity between the new switch and the SG300 it should connect. I have installation VLAN1 and 10 according to the images below:

(Most likely) I'm missing something obvious here?

    Thanks in advance.

If all ports are 1u, 10 t between the two switches, there is a different problem.

I guess it's possible that the new switch SX200 can act only wobbly. Pass you any firmware prior to installation?

I probably load the latest software and the switch to make sure it isn't being weird with you.
