  If you have devices non-essential attached to the system, unplug them. Windows XP Setup may attempt to detect them.

  If you have more than one hard drive installed, disconnect all except the drive that you plan to install Windows XP on.

  I've updated the other day to 2015.3 and nothing in trouble have since then. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and even tried to go back to the 2015.2 version, but when I did I couldn't open one of my old projects. So now, I have nine value terabyte of videos that I can't do something with and have eight days before the project is due. It would normally take me a few days to do what I'm trying to do, but at the rate he now travels would take me probably months.   I had a similar behavior on my old satellite 1900. At the end I checked the HARD drive and there are lots of bad sectors. At the beginning everything was OK, but after the installation of a few different satellite applications was slower and slower.

  In the end, I switched HDD and everything was OK again. I recommend you to check the HARD drive to see if there are some bad sectors. If so buy new HARD drive. Repair of sector help much.

  It may be that really need the new battery - or the battery that keeps the date and time.

• 5.5 Flash is going very slowly. Tips to speed up?

  I do a hand drawn animation Flash 5.5 and now my program is going so slow, that it takes 3-5 seconds for the program to realize that I rubbed through frames. There is no virus running in the background scanner, my program is up to date and I wouldn't consider not so to speak the program "full." There is a little less than five seconds of the animation on doubles on the timeline.

  (Please note that I don't know much about Flash as a program. I do mainly animation frame-by-frame on a computer and that's it. Nothing complicated in this project.)

  Create a new directory and save your fla (with a new name) in this directory.  Restart your computer and then open this new fla in flash cs 5.5 and see if it behaves better.

• WMP12 loading tracks very slowly

  I just built my first computer and WMP12 very slowly works to fill the library with my songs.

  I have about 17,000 or 180 GB of music and it can take up to an hour to fully load all. My music is stored on my 2 TB HARD drive, my OS is on a 120 GB SSD. Occasionally when loading, WMP to crash and tell me that some plug-ins could not initialize and open again, it loads a lot faster. I tried to find ways to uninstall or remove plug-ins but can't.

  Can I have just a clarification: you say that WMP12 very slowly working to fill the library with my songs - is what happens whenever you start wmp... for an initial population 1 hour doesn't sound too bad, but if it happens every time - is not good!

  I'm sure (that you built the computer) your library settings are correct (in wmp under 'organize'-'manage libraries'), then maybe there's some files associated with wmp requiring correction. Try the tools two MS listed in my reply on this thread...

• MacBook Pro (3-inches, mid-2012) suddenly started running very slowly; Beach balls very common

  About a week and a half, it started running very slowly with the spinning beach balls popping up all the time.  This reminds me of how when I have too many tabs of the browser as in the past, but now, even with browsers had closed, open Word or Skype is really slow.  (I'm sorry for any confusing formulation; I'm not very computer customer connected, unfortunately!)

  Some of the things I've tried so far and EtreCheck below):

  -detection of hardware problems (control + D)

  -reset the PRAM

  -using the utility disc for repair/first care; also check

  -wipe the hard drive and reinstalling original OS X Lion (was still slow with beach balls; I tried to install OS X El Capitan to see if that would help, but installation could not finish)

  You Mbps HARD drive is suspect.  Start the recovery (COMMAND-R) partition and select in menu 4 disk utility.  Run disk utility > first aid > repair.

  Unrelated, but your battery has seen a lot of use.  I suggest to replace.

• A few days ago, Google started to load very slowly in Firefox, but not Safari

  I have Firefox 13.0.1 on Mac OS X. A few days ago Google pages implemented very slowly (taking a few minutes to perform a search or open Gmail). I've had no problem with Safari - Google pages loading instantly here. And the ONLY site that I have problems with the Firefox Google. I tried to clear my cache as someone suggested.   About: config, I changed 'network.http.keep - alive' to 'true' and now Google works very well. I don't know what caused the problem in the first place, but that fixed it for me.
