  One of my clients has 20 license see Prime Minister. They are all running. Now, they need to add more users to the view. But, they only need view Enterprise.

  As mittim12 says that you can simply add a license to the broker. I think that the best way to separate the other Prime Minister/Enterprise using another instance of Server Standard view.

• VMware ESX4 and license as single Cluster View4

  We wanted to test VMware View for a possible deployment, so we bought 2 (10

  packs of user licenses) of View3 with subscription.  So, by the time I got 4

  value processors to ESX 3.5.  We put together 3 physical boxes capable of each

  to organize each 4 processors.  To begin, we have 2 boxes with a single processor

  each (6 cores per processor) and the 3rd box has 2 CPUs (even 6 hearts

  each).  The 3 boxes are managed inside of vCenter Server 1

  cluster.  The plan was to buy more licenses of view as necessary and much more

  physical processors as needed.  Now, here's the problem I see.

  Soon I also want to make virtualization of servers in the same cluster.  Now

  that we have upgraded to View4 the authorisation system has completely changed.

  Instead of one per processor, they are doing one per VM license.

  So my problem/question is...

  How to make a group of ESX4 servers share licensing for both view

  4 (for workstation virtualization) and the right ESX4 (virtualization server)?

  As far as I can tell the new license is apples and oranges.

  View is now authorized by VM and ESX is still licensed per processor.  My

  thought was under the former regime of license, I was responsible for ensuring that I have

  did not run workstation VMs I saw more licenses for and on the server

  side have no more virtual processors dedicated virtual servers that I had

  physical cores in the physical processors I distributed under license ESX.  This regime

  was compatible on a single cluster.  But since I can only say an ESX

  I don't know, I'm entirely. But will try to clarify. View license has not really changed. It has always been by VM CPU not and still is.   It depends on your reservations memory and the amount of memory is really active.  Some applications can survive very well--those with reservations of memory will continue to have their memory full, but those who don't will be puts balloon and possibly swapping.

  Start by looking at your hosts and see how memory is active granted vs.  If you have 90% of active memory, you are in trouble.  If you have a granted 90% but only 40 or 50% active, you can survive very well, the edit window.

  I also assume that clients are configured according to best practice documents.  For example, customers Java and SQL have memory well-positioned reservations.  If you don't have them, you can run good now but switch when you are under pressure of memory (which you will be, as soon as the first host goes into maintenance mode).

• Change of address IP of VirtualCenter, no host to ESX cluster management

  Our Team MS moved our VirtualCenter server to a new IP address. But since then, I had problems with a cluster I had previously put in place.

  Since the change, the cluster with 2 esx hosts cannot be destroyed, the esx hosts themselves cannot be dragged, maintenace ito disconnected or split mode.

  I suspect that it is because the hosts are always sending heartbeats to the old address IP of VCenter. Any action on the cluster or host of just hangs.

  Is that anyway, since the ESX servers themselves to be removed from the VCenter, so I can add?

  Trying to readd the host in VC me that it is managed under a server VCenter (old IP) and if you override you will be asked to get an error "the host is already connected to this server, VirtualCenter)

  Any ideas/thoughts will be appreciated.

  In situations like this, oftne I like to use a loop FOR.  AutoIndex on a string array and using a structure dealing with wired Terminal selection to the chain.  Now you can ungroup one thing at a time, if you decide to update, and only update it if necessary.  I find it easier to understand and it takes much less space.

  

  Note: In the case of FALSE, I'm just the 'current' gauging straight wiring.  If the shift register is always the last cluster and we update only if necessary.

  You can not join sysman as SYSDBA. Try SYSDBA.

  You can only use the SYS user to connect as a sysdba OR if you have expressly given this 'sysdba' privilege to any user.

  We use virtual machines.  If we have a change in personnel or a VM corrupted, we create a new virtual machine to duplicate an existing hard drive, create a new VM, and assign the hard drive duplicate on the new computer.  Works perfectly.

  The problem is that Acrobat thinks that we have installed on a new computer and requires therefore renewal, and it will not re-license automatically because he thinks that the license is already in use.

  Is there a way around this problem?

  The problem is caused by the service being registered in the table sys.service$ on the target database but not marked as deleted thereafter. To get rid of it just run command:

  SQL > execute dbms_service.delete_service ('bamsd');

  It will fill in the deletion_date column in the table. Reassess the alert in grid control and it's erased.

• License Manager for applications built in LabVIEW

  What I have is a licensing system to add to applications built in LabVIEW that works more or less like a volume, or as FlexLM license server, where a customer is allowed to so many instances/seats of a program.  Most of what I found looking around my own has been for licenses Add-ons for LabVIEW, which is not what I'm looking for (it's what makes third-party attribution license and activation tool box, for example).  I want it to work like saying the CAD program to work - we have X licenses to run SolidWorks, so when someone starts the program, it fist check with the license server to see if a license is available.  If so, the application opens, and then withdraw the license when the app is left.

  I found Protection PLUS 5 of SoftwareKey SDK.  It looks pretty good.  I like that they have a licensed server product that manages the whole "set up a license server" for me.  I think that some (or a lot) of work, this could be useful.

  The problem I have with the product is that it's a terrible LabVIEW library.  It is not to add to the palette of features anywhere.  Not one of the screws included have a description.  They don't follow things to standard LabVIEW style, like the error code from the lower left and the lower right (actually go in and out of the top middle).  They have an online site that lists what each command and how it works, but it's a pain to work looking back from a webpage to LabVIEW.  The only example they included is a little obtuse.

  So I guess I have two questions.  The first is, has anyone used 5 over Protection, and what did you think of him?  The second is, is there an another add-on which recommend you people?
