FIX: "no mountable boot Volume' on Packard - Bell EasyNote A8
Hello:
I want that my recent experience would be helpful to my fellow users.
My Packard - Bell EasyNote A8, running Windows XP Home, was to have a "Blue screen of death" problem very frustrating showing "One-Mountable boot Volume," at the start of the system, just after loading Windows XP logo, after a recent system total restore factory & all subsequent updates have been made. An extensive internet search was not much help. Physical damage to several sectors on the hard disk are likely, after all, there @ and 10,000 POH
Solution:
1. let regenerator HD program work for about 6 weeks continuously. I don't know how this has helped, it detected 100 many bad/damaged areas and repaired only 3. Had to manually stop because he was taking forever. He got stuck on 47118Mb, with @ 3Gb more to go.
2 restart the computer. Press the magic F11 button.
3. system restore started. It is automatically detected and repaired the damaged partition. Everything is automatic. Just sit back & relax & follow the prompts on the screen.
4. my Packard - Bell EasyNote A8 now return works perfectly as it was before the problem started. All updates completed. No "blue screen of death" until now.

Hello
Close all programs and then put in a DVD - RW blank = what happens?
You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)
Playback of CD and DVD). So it is not unusual for parts from 1 or 2 to not work so that others do
correctly.Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

Not mountable boot volume, DVD does not work
I got the error unmountable boot volume and when I try to boot from my install dvd nothing comes. I have a HP Pavilion Dv6000. My only startup options are the normal startup (which leads to the BSoD) and the Startup Repair, which gives me just a black screen with the cursor. What is going on?
Hello
1. do you get an error with this error code?
Method 1.
First of all I would ask you to put the first boot device to the CD - DVD drive. This change is made in the BIOS. You may need to contact the manufacturer of your BIOS to change these settings.Important note: changes to the BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.
Note:
If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer. You may need to change your computer's BIOS settings.Method 2.
You can try the following steps (skip these steps if you've already tried).
Menu of boot options advanced access by pressing the F8 key when the computer is restarted > on the Advanced Boot Options screen > select repair your computer option.
Now, select command prompt recovery tool and run the disk check to repair bad sectors on the hard disk.
a. at the command prompt, type chkdsk /f and then press ENTER.
b.Now, type chkdsk/r, and then press ENTER.Note: CHKDSK would attempt to recover bad sectors on the hard disk, in the course of this process there are chances of DATA loss from that particular area.
You can also try to restore the environment of system recovery.
I hope this helps.
Thank you, and in what concerns:

Hi all
I have this problem since Friday, when my laptop crashed. Says "Unmountable_boot_volume" blue screen of death and refuses to boot windows in any form (safe mode and otherwise). I was stressed out since all my data was on it. However I managed to use a bootable linux cdrom program named knoppix for access and backup my files. When I used the recovery cd, the recovery process stops with an error.
I checked the net, where people have solved this problem by using a windows xp cd. After following their advice and using chkdsk/r, the process stops and the chkdsk program tells me there are one or more errors that prevent him to fix it. checking further... people have used the fixboot or fixmbr to repair their starting system, this does not work. The program he says even that my hard drive is broken. Oddly enough, my hard drive is still accessible with the cd of linux?
Then I tried to format it. with format c:... seemed to work ok... no errors and other things. However if I go to the root and the type of the dir command, the compu tells me that there is something wrong with my system files. What is even more strange: AFTER formatting of my readers, readers and their information is still intact with the LINUX cd and fully accessible? !!! Anyone know what to do... im desperate >?
Thank you
Benoit

Hello
Use partition magic or similar software to clean the hard disk, you have very probably a Linux partition on the hard disk that prevents return to work. therefore give you the ok. Back and flop in recovery.BTW, you might have used microsofts own downloadable windows XP startup disk in their download section to run again and correct the above error.

Packard bell easynote you 11hc on custom windows 7 activate WiFi even after pressing f3
Well, it's bad for me because I do a lot on the internet and it started today. And are not sitting well you should try pressing Fn + F3 because that's what I do when I need to use it because my laptop has a weird keyboard and I reinstalled my drivers and still nothing nothing has helped even from support.
If you haven't already done so, try to run the network troubleshooters (esp "network and Internet" - "Internet connection" and "Network card") to see if they find and fix any problems.
Have you looked into "Device Manager" (from
) under network adapters, in order to check that the wireless adapter is listed, working correctly and enabled? Right click on the adapter, and then click Properties. -

Problems with factory reset on a Packard Bell
Hi cox.haley1,
After a Microsoft update Tuesday May 13 laptop Packard Bell Easynote TK85-GN-051UK of my granddaughter had a huge problem with the start-up that could only be ordered with a Factory Reset. Finally I had all this work and re-installed all software programs. Several days later, after update of Microsoft more, another problem arose that could only be fixed again with a Factory Reset, so I had some things to begin to repair, but it got stuck in the Installation of the software... I sent to Packard Bell for re-installing operating system Windows 7 DVD & utilities drivers & Applications DVD... Incl. postage. £37.
They have not worked as once more stuck in the same place.
Packard Bell is a Dutch manufacturer and a subsidiary of Acer will help so I don't need to waste money on recovery discs.
Can anyone suggest something to help please?

boot volume not mountable on presario cq56 - 219wm laptop
can someone help me please... I have no drives for this laptop. I have no idea how solve this thing, it was working fine before bed and now it isn't. I managed to control a number of things by reading this forum. I got a code that says "unmountable boot volume" I did a hard reboot as it said and that did nothing. I tried repairing the system when she appeared, did nothing. I tried to do safe mode, but I can't tell if it of in there or not. After loads of windows logo I get a blue corrugated (a bit like a curtian blowing in the Breeze) of the screen and the mouse shows but nothing else, start no button, no icon of shortcut... nothing. I've had a few years but it has barely been used and when it is used its especially for printing photos from my camera. HELP HELP HELP PLEASE!
Hello
The error code will be a Smart failure or disk Self Test - in both cases, this would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced. This is also consistent with startup error.
If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.
If you live in the United States, contact HP here.
If you are in another part of the world, begin here.
If you are out of warranty and would like a guide to replacing the hard drive yourself, let me know.
Kind regards

Satellite Pro L10 - Unmountable Boot Volume
My Satellite Pro L10 loops in the boot process. After the Windows XP splash screen, the following error messages appears:... Unmountable boot volume... Technical information: Stop: 0x000000ED...
I know that is nothing exceptional and do a full restore would solve the problem. But I don't want to lose the data (which are of course not saved). I tried a Windows XP disk, but it does not start from the cd/dvd drive by pressing F12 or <0>and change the boot order...
Can anyone help please?
Hello
Hmm, the volume not mountable startup error message appears especially if the HARD drive may not be recognized during initialization. Why? Well, maybe the HARD drive failures or the master boot record is defective!
If you don t want to recover the laptop, you can try to boot from the XP CD (C press immediately after switching on the laptop) and to start the repair console.
In the repair console, you can use the command chkdsk/p and after that, you could fix the disk main boot using the fixboot command or / and fixmbr.
If this does not help, the new installation of the OS is that you as a last resort.
PS: If you want to save the data you can try to remove the HARD drive and try to connect it via external USB HDD controller to another computer.
