OK guys, I'm all set, my sense of humor is back :) It took MS technical support some time (which made me feel less stupid) and they had to make a new key. It seems that when changes are made to certain machines that I upgraded was a Compaq Evo bios conflict there, it seems to be more prevalent in the 2002 version of XP Pro OEM.

Microsoft taken care of once I found the right number to call, so everything is good again. Thanks for your replies.

  • "Blocked product key" message after factory reset system

Since I updated to Windows 8.1, I had random BSOD errors. They were different from the errors and what they had in common was the NT kernel, which meant that I had to do a complete restore of the system. I have put this for awhile because it happened only once at startup, then the system is stable. Today I finally had the time to do and I was prepared for some annoying problems but not like that.

At first, I did a system reset which now seems very useless for me because it only retains the Windows settings and more like reinstalling Windows to do a full format. Unfortunately it gave me this error message. I searched online and some suggestions made to make a complete and all factory restore, knowing that it would solve nothing I moved and you did. Suffice to say it didn't work as I knew that he would not but I thought I'd better get all "did you do X procedure?" before asking for help to avoid delays in starting this sorted correctly.

Now I'm sitting here typing this out with the error message always insisting on the fact that my product key is invalid / blocked and as it took me a while to back up my files I will have to wait until tomorrow to contact HP support. Someone at - he found a complete solution to this or discovered why their key is blocked after a reinstall? If it is a new anti-piracy measure that went wrong so I'll be even more upset than I already am.

To add to the trouble I have specifically excluded to install Norton yet found sitting here on my laptop at the first start. I also had a problem with WiFi really stupid where he would not stay connected for more than a half second up until I connected via LAN and updated the driver. Excellent software! What happens if I had no network cable? Why did the pilot WiFi broken out of the box?

A few additional bits of information. The laptop is under warranty. I only got it in August and it has no DVD drive, so I had to rely on HP Recovery Manager to use the recovery partition.

Apology. I forgot this post! Yes, I solved the problem, but it was not easy nor quick. The tl; Dr version is that HP has allowed me to buy a new key of Windows and then they sent me a check to cover the cost. If you are interested in a longer version, then read on. I would also add that my laptop was still under warranty at the time where it all happened.

For some reason the laptop BIOS (where is stored the factory key) any had lost Setup sort key. I guess that happened during a many updates of BIOS HP sent but that makes no difference. What happened then is that I had to send screenshots of the error message Windows gave me to HP showing what Windows told me (that the key was not valid etc) and wait for HP to decide on a course of action.

Many of these e-mails took days to get a response which was pretty frustrating given that Windows would remember every 3 hours that I didn't have a valid key. The end result is that count give enough evidence HP leave of me to go out and buy a new Windows key, and then send by e-mail a copy of the invoice for a refund. Given the slow HP had to get to this point, that is so not surprising it took them more than a month to send me money to cover what I paid. This figure includes two weeks after I did what they asked and nothing happened, but after the ring, I was told that he had not crossed for "any reason" that lead to another delay of two weeks before I finally got the payment.

I realize that the question itself was not a typical scenario and I am happy with the end result but the time it took to get there (problem started a few days before the new year of 2014 and was resolved around March 2014) was ridiculous and seriously made me hesitant to go close to HP in the future.

  • Windows xp pro for PC refurbished - ID of product not valid

I want to install windows from a CD of restoration kit and when I put the product key Windows outside the pc I get the message "the product ID you entered is not valid." There is no way to move beyond the screen. I returned the product key several times and checked to make sure I have the correct key. I use the product key for the Windows XP Pro product tag refurbished. How to spend it?

I saw another post that we were talking about using the Windows product key update tool. I can't go to the tool. If I restart the computer, it will not start for something else that installing windows even when I try to use F9 to start from the hard drive. After that he tries to start, it goes back to the installation screen and asks me to insert the windows installation disc.

  • Windows 7 Build 7600 not genuine after system reset

I recently had to do a complete reset of the system (reconstituted in State 'out of the box') on my HP laptop. The HP Installer went well and the home screen loaded correctly. However, in the lower right corner of the screen there is a message that says "Windows 7 Build 7600 don't authentic not» I ignored and installed a bunch of Windows updates (56 I think) and my computer restarted. When I did I had a reading of message something like "your copy of Windows 7 may be forged" and I was given the opportunity to either purchase a full version, enter a serial code, contact HP. I bought this laptop from Best Buy and they have already set everything so I did not initially install the operating system. They gave me four "restore disc" with her if. Is it likely that the fix is out there and I just need to run all them, do I have to contact HP, or y at - it somewhere I can find my serial code? Any help would be appreciated.

    your windows is not genuine.

the key of product in use is the Lenovo OEM SLP key on the black list. This key has been blacklisted before Windows 7 came out and has never been sold.
  • Windows 7 - key installation of product not valid

I see here a lot of people have the same problem I have. Today, on 22 October, I bought Windows 7 Home premium family pack for upgrading 3 PCs of Costco. Everything went smoothly until asked by installing the product key. I typed in the product key and it is "invalid". After that be réentré 3 or 4 times, I called MS supports. After finally getting a warm body who spoke English gave me a 2nd number to call. After calling the number 2 and get a warm body who spoke broken English I got a 3rd number to call. After calling the number 3 and get a warm body who spoke broken English, I was told that I had to wait a few days and try again because MS did not have all the keys entered their database product. How totally lame! If the problem persists after 2 days, I will return Windows 7 back to Costco for a refund. What a joke! It looks like Vista everything again.

I recently (after a problem with a regular update of the XP) had to rebuild my M300 Sat because I had no order form setup that I fear, I made a mistake and installed the drivers of chip set too late.
The process stopped at 90% and the system needed a hard reboot. After that everything seems OK, work with one exception about (so far):
the FN F8 keyboard shortcut does not work.

    My questions:
y is there a way to check the problem with this shortcut key and can it be repaired even with my a bit messy installtion order?
-can, in some so, fix the mistakes I made with the order of installation for the chipset guide when the full 100%?

As said by DCarter, this forum is for SQL * more and iSQL * more front-end. It's actually a problem with the SQL language, and so it would be preferable, in the future, questions like this in the forum SQL and PL/SQL:
    SQL and PL/SQL
Many more people read this forum, too, so you will probably get faster answers.

    ... 11 CREATE TABLE VITAL_SIGNS (temperature INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, FOREIGN KEY (patientID) REFERENCES PATIENT_IDENTIFICATION (patientID), uid tank (3), (2) TANK breaths, pulse tank (3), blood pressure NVARCHAR2 (7));

There are 2 different ways to specify constraints:
    (1) table constraints (or constraints of Out-of-Line ), which are delimited by a comma in the other elements of the CREATE TABLE statement
    (2) forced column (or Constraints In-Line ), which are placed at the end of a column definition, not separated by a comma.

What you've posted has been the correct form for a table constraint when you use a table constraint, you must have a separate column for each referenced column statement You never said a column in the table called patiendID vital_signs.
This is a good way to use a table constraint:

    CREATE TABLE vital_signs
    ( u_id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY
, patientID CHAR (5) -- Column declared here
    , temperature CHAR (3)
    , respirations CHAR (2)
    , pulse CHAR (3)
    , bloodPressure NVARCHAR2 (7)
, FOREIGN KEY (patientID) REFERENCES PATIENT_IDENTIFICATION (patientID) -- Column referenced here
    );

Most people put the table constraints after all columns have been reported, as I did above, but is not mandatory.

Here's a way to get the same effect by using a column constraint:

    CREATE TABLE vital_signs
    ( u_id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY
    , patientID CHAR (5) REFERENCES PATIENT_IDENTIFICATION (patientID)
    , temperature CHAR (3)
    , respirations CHAR (2)
    , pulse CHAR (3)
    , bloodPressure NVARCHAR2 (7)
    );

Personally, I prefer the path column constraint. I find it easier to read and understand, because it is easier to notice the constraint when you see the column definition in the code. I also find it interesting to give meaningful names to foreign key constraints, like this:

    CREATE TABLE vital_signs
    ( u_id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY
    , patientID CHAR (5) CONSTRAINT vs_patientID_fk
                                      REFERENCES PATIENT_IDENTIFICATION (patientID)
    , temperature CHAR (3)
    , respirations CHAR (2)
    , pulse CHAR (3)
    , bloodPressure NVARCHAR2 (7)
    );

If you violate the constraint, the error message will say "Violated VS_PATIENTID_FK", that helps to identify exactly what was wrong.

For more information, search for "Constraints" in the manual of the SQL language:
    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/server.112/e26088/clauses002.htm#g1053592

Moreover, the CHAR data type is very confusing, and there is no good reason to not use VARCHAR2 instead.

  • Cannot use auxiliary keys keyboard after system restore

I had to reload XP so I used reloading with the CD backup option.  I have an emachines keyboard that has additional, such as buttons that cut, paste, volume, etc., and after that I reloaded XP from the CD, these buttons not working.  The icon zHotkey in the folder WINDOWS from my hard drive, which allowed me to use it before restoration, isn't here, so now I can no longer use one of these buttons.  How can I get them back?

  • Dell XPS 12 - will not start / turns on after hard reset

Last night I was with my XPS w12 in laptop mode on battery and he finally went down to 7% of the capacity.  At this point, it turns off the display and I moved my office to connect the power adapter (thinking it would simply turn the display when there was enough power...  The screen never came back (I waited 15-20 minutes), but the battery has been recharged.  At that time, I tried a hard reset by holding the power button for 5 to 10 seconds.

When I tried to turn it on, nothing happened.  No backlit keyboard, no screen, just the fan.  The light never came the switch either. So I tried an another hard reset with the same results.  I even tried to turn it on with the "D" button held down for on board diagnostics and got nothing more than the start of the fan.

I thought it might be an overheating problem, so I let it set for an hour and tried again - none other than the fan. It seems that the laptop does not pass the initial diagnosis and not even up to the point where the bios starts to load.

I really thought that my cell phone was dead and ready for use.  I took it in the office the next day so I could call Dell Support Pro. Just for fun, I plugged with the AC adapter and tried to turn it on - viola!  It started working again.

I had this problem once before, and he began to work after 2-3 resets hard. I was working on a proposal when the laptop went down. I tried reset hard over a period of 4 hours with no result. It baffles me why it start OK the next day morning.

I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem.  I am running the A07 BIOS (the most common) and my 12 XPS is configured with 8 GB of memory and 256 GB SSD with an i7 and Intel wireless card.

Any suggestions on this diagnosis? The hardest part is then if fails, the failure is total - you are unable to diagnosis. When she comes back, all right, and there is than any event in the event log that relate to the failure.

OK - I narrowed down it to the following:

When the laptop is "asleep", it will finally in power mode. It seems that connect a power adapter for the laptop at this point will enter a State of confusion, when the button is pressed, the laptop fan turns on but no light on the power button or on the keyboard – the screen remains blank.  Laptop fan works (it is very quiet - he must hold the phone to your ear to hear it).

I don't know if the cause is a low battery or if the issue is simply with the State of the CPU to power down.  All I know is that when it happens, if I disconnect the power adapter and press and hold the power button until the fan of the laptop turns off, the hard reset allows him to come back normally.  If you leave the adapter attached, it will charge the battery but will not allow the laptop start.

I said this experiment several times with the same result every time. I'm guessing that there is a bug in the BIOS that defines an error state that are resolved with the associated power Board. Do the hard reset without the adapter seems reliable to fix the problem.

  • Why my product key not valid with an installation from another CD as the original?

I had to reload a fresh install of Win XP on a Toshiba laptop. Given that the previous owner had lost the CD; I took one I had at home a try to install it on my laptop with laptop computer product key stuck under the laptop. but when I try to install said that it is a key of product not valid. This is false because before to format the laptop, it had windows XP installed with this product key and it worked fine. I sort of... ending up with the fact that the installation needs a corresponding product key... Am I wrong? If Yes, what can I do if I want to use my laptop product key and I don't have the Original CD of Installation?

    Thank you!

You have installed using the installation XP bad disc. XP installation disks are related to the version of the operating system and the type of installation for each particular product key. You need to install either with the recovery media OEM Toshiba (best solution, solved by ordering the recovery disc from Toshiba for a little money - usually less than $30) OR a generic OEM installation disk for the version for installed XP (Home/Pro/Media Center).  If you use a generic OEM installation disc, then you will enter the product key for the thumbnail of the laptop. If you use a generic OEM install disc, then you should go to the Web from Toshiba site and download/install all the drivers and utilities for this laptop model. There is always a ton of them.

To contact Toshiba support, buy recovery disks, do an install clean/restore factory with these discs. You won't need to enter a product key if you use the restore disks.

  • I get a message that my disk key is not valid. He has worked the last time I started.

When I enter the code from the back of the drive, I get a message that the code is not valid. The operating system worked this am. What gives?

What part of the installation are you get the invalid key error? Installation of Windows 7 is a bit different from Vista. Vista allows you to ignore enter a product key when you are in the early stages of the installation. Windows 7 lets you skip entering your key when the facility is in its final stages of installation.

If you're running Vista and you try to do a clean install using upgrade disc, do not enter a product key and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

    Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

They will give a confirmation ID, enter it

Click next to complete the activation.

You said that the license came with your old computer, please note, that would mean its OEM license. OEM licenses are not transferable to another computer, they are related to the computer, they came with, so if you try to use it on another computer, this may be why you encounter this error message.
