Flash-based help system

Hello

I tried without success to get examples of Flash-based help files: the use of Flash and AS3 to create a (similar to CHM or WinHelp help authoring style) help file.

I would like to create a small, very basic help file in a Flash AS3 project, with the look / feel of a Windows style help file. Perhaps, there are a few examples, sample FLA that can help me to avoid "reinventing the wheel."

All the tracks would be appreciated.

do not adjust cont, otherwise your _html will inherit the distortion.

Sub is simply a way of positioning your html loaded (_html) easily.

You can also load _html above Sub

with

addChild (_html) _cont.addChild //instead (_html)

and position the upper left corner of the _html where you need

with

_html.x = 50

_html.y = 80

    Hello

I understand that the hourglass flashes always a few seconds on the computer. I understand the inconvenience.

    1. when exactly you get this flash hourglass?

  • Error message receiver: 4.73 help system home Budget for Dummies running.

    Original title: 4.73 help system

I like the others has the Budget home for Dummies and get the same result. So I followed the things you said and it still does not work.

    Sandie

    Hi Sandie,

    1. who is the manufacturer of Budget home for Dummies?

2 have. what troubleshooting measures you tried to solve the problem?

    3. What is the graduating error message that you receive?

4 Windows operating system you are using?

You can contact the manufacturer of the product and check system specifications required to run the program.

If you are using Windows 7, you can try to run the program in Windows Vista or XP compatibility mode and check if it helps:

  • FRM-18105: failed to start the help system

    Hello

I'm in Oracle Forms 11.1.2.0 you try to start the help system and getting the error message below.

FRM-18105: failed to start the help system.

I have to check the registry entries or system variables?

    Thank you

This issue is finally resolved. After I compared the FORMS_BUILDER_CLASSPATH variables in the environment vs registry Variables, I found I was missing C:\Oracle\Middleware\oracle_common\doc\online_help\oracle_forms in the registry. After that I added it it still didn't fix it. Then I found that entry C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_FRHome1\jlib\ewt3.jar was pointing at my old House, so I have fixed to point to Oracle_FRHome instead of Oracle_FRHome1 and my forms launched immediately. Thanks for listening)

  • Where is the current version of Dreamweaver Help system?

It appears the product links to a help system with outdated information. I was searching for the insertion of information named anchor tags and there is information - but it is not relevant to CC. Is it possible to make a help system that aligns with the current version?  Is the help system itself a deprecated feature?

Named anchors are deprecated in HTML.  DW them removed from DW CC quite awhile.  Use IDS instead of named anchors.

  • Changes to the help system?

I use CS Design Standard (ID and PS) 5.5 for quite a while now - using a Macbook Pro under Snow Leopard. In each application, I can access excellent Adobe Help system through the Help menu. This opens the help of Adobe, who works as a browser, showing the built in help, as well as additions only online and videos.

I just migrated to a new Macbook Pro, running Mountain Lion. I reinstalled CS Design Standard 5.5 and added CS6 Production Premium.

Now when I open the menu help, all I offer yet a part of menu called 'Photoshop online help' or 'Illustrator aid', but when I select it I'm taken into a pdf file manual. Adobe help is always there on my drive, but it does not launch the system online/offline browser type.

Someone has an idea of what's going on here? I thought Adobe integrated assistance has been extremely useful and I wouldn't spend you.

Thanks to all who can help.

    Steve

Please try to remove the software, try the CS cleanup tool - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.htmland then try to reinstall again.

If this does not work you can reformat.  You can then rerun the Upsizing Wizard, this time by choosing only migrate on your documents and your settings and then try to reinstall.

In general, I've seen users spend hours trying to get back the use of the Migration Wizard.  So don't forget the two options and decide which one is the fastest for you.

  • Help files not available in the offline Help system

Living in the United Kingdom and have BT (British Telecom) as my ISP, it is not at all unusual for my broadband to be disconnected to 75% of the time.

Earlier today my broadband was again downwards and therefore when I clicked on the Dreamweaver Help system, no help was available.

The ability to use the offline Help files has not helped much either.

I use CS5.5 and I can see the offline help that was available in all the other versions (up to CS4) does not exist.

Click on help/edit/preferences and it seems that you must download the files yourself, so I had to do.

First that I logged in - which worked.

On the general tab, make sure "Display Local Help content only" is not selected.

In the Preferences menu, click Download Preferences and check the boxes next to the items you want to download.

Then, go to the Updater settings and click 'Manually update my content stored locally using' t, then click on manage now.

No downloads are available as shown above.

Back to the Help menu - a message appears - to access or download help, connect to Internet or deselect the "Display Help content Local only" option in preferences.

I am connected to the Internet and view Local Help is not checked. Nothing! Earlier, I arrived at this point and closed and restarted Dreamweaver with exactly the same result.

What is the point of a help offline system that is not available for download.

I did a search on Google and found a post that is supposed to affect people in Croatia or China or some other land away and was able to download a pdf help file. However, it is not good enough. I don't have to load a pdf file when it is supposed to be a support system built into the product offline. Or at least there should be way to aq of binder in the system.

A search of the line on the help files revealed nothing help on offline Help files.

    Can someone enlighten me?

And what I need to download the help files for all programs of 12 or more in the sequel?

Persistence is paying off. Seems that it is not possible to implement offline files in a program now, but it is possible to program from Adobe.

Take a look at the following link and follow it through to the point 11.

    http://kb2.Adobe.com/CPS/849/cpsid_84992.html

Point 9 is optional I think - but I'll see. Currenlty I help offline in most programs and he has to say when there is an update available.

I have found the answer when checking Acrobat X for help - even in this case, the solution seems a bit obscure.

  • Does anyone use the permissions-based help?

    Afternoon everyone,

I was wondering if somebody deploys the permissions-based help (and if the application supports that).

Someone has permissions to view help?

    James

The release of knowing assistance would contribute to the answer.

He may be out of the box, it would need developer input. If she is webhelp is on a Unix machine, it is easier and there is a method to my site.

  • What applications to use to create this help system?

I've got TCS2.5 available. Quite familiar with frame (using for several years now), moderately familiar with HR

(last used a couple of years to create a .chm for software application of the customer).

Same client has a new program they need to create a help system for (probably .chm again). If possible, I'd like to only source a printed manual (.pdf) for the key concepts.

I would like to be able to get the content of their examination in .pdf format.

A few very simple questions that I hope you can help me with...

    • benefits directly to HR?
    • benefits of developing in the framework and the conversion in HR?
    • good resource to get in tune with HR?

Thanks for any idea that you can share.

You will get the output PDF of better image quality than of HR. For the integration of the TCS, check out Adobe RJ Jacquez (http://rjacquez.com/) blog and excellent overview of Roundpeg webinars (http://blogs.roundpeg.com/)

  • Can you set permissions for a help system?

Hello - I creates a helpsystem and I was wondering if with RoboHelp 8, I can limit who sees what book/topic?

We need this because some customers who will view this help system will not be able to see certain parts of the application. They have certain rights to each application.

My fear is that I'll have to create separate helpsystem projects for each of the different parts...

If anyone has ANY ideas - thank you would be great! Thank you!
