Flash in Authorware

Hello
Is there anyway that I can truncate a flash movie in authorware?

Thank you
Rashmi

See the help files for Flash Xtra. You should be able to unit one way
play of FrameX FrameY.

Open a Flash sprite on your conduct of flow. Click the view button on the
Properties Panel click the help button that appears on the new dialogue
box. Watch the presentation of orders.

  • pass variables from flash to authorware

    Hello

If I have a button in flash and want to send a string of varibales to authorware:
    -example code-
    Flash code.
    {We (Release)}
    fscommand ("variable", "var1, var2, var3, var4")
    }
    Authorware code.
    EvalAssign (EventLastMatched [#command] ^ ": = EventLastMatched [#args]")
    Trace (EventLastMatched [#args])
    ActionFuntion (EventLastMatched [#args])
    Quit()

In the authorware file, I would like to highlight this string and breakit in authorware and apply it to the ActionFuntion.

    Help, please.

    Thanks daniel

If you have a string "var1, var2, var3, var4" you want to get each
    element of?

    Repeat with i = 1 to LineCount (EventLastMatched [#args], ',')
    lines : = GetLine (EventLastMatched [#args], I, I, ',')
    end repeat

Must establish each element of the sting in a separate list item in the
linear list of lines. I really don't understand what you are tying to
do, so I use a list here for demonstration purposes, but perhaps you
you want to replace the second line with:

    ActionFunction (GetLine (EventLastMatched [#args], i, i, ','))

Who will call ActionFunction each time that the loop works and send it to the
next element in the chain. In your case, it will call...

    ActionFunction ("var1")
    ActionFunction ("var2")
    ActionFunction ("var3")
    ActionFunction ("var4")

-What are you trying to achieve?

  • Authorware Player Position on the screen

    Hello

I'm working on a project of Authorware that uses multiple Authorware files that are linked together. When you decide how to position this project on the screen that I have encountered some problems. I don't know how to Center a project on the screen of the user by using the document properties option in Authorware. Is there a method that I can program the Authorware file to "remember" the position of the window (for example if the user drags over one side of the screen) when switching between Authorware files? The Authorware Player will move the window to the center of the screen (if this option is selected) or the location of the window of the reader for this file when it was published in Authorware, opening a new Authorware file. Ideally, I'd like that the project to focus on the screen when the project is opened, so don't forget to the position of the display user-defined as it jumps back between Authorware files.

Thanks to tips for any suggestion or someone can give me advice.

You can query WindowLeft and WindowTop to know the current position. You
can use MoveWindow to move the window on the screen. You can pass
variables between the files in the jump command.

    Should be all you need...

    See if this helps:-

    http://www.Adobe.com/devnet/Captivate/articles/mobile_captivate.html

There are several things to Captivate 2 which are not viewable in Flash Lite.
The article above should help you to create a project file that can be accessed
    on your mobile devices.

This is a new behavior in Internet Explorer - well, for several months now.
When you launch the AW file, look at the text just below the IE toolbar,.
He'll tell you some more about what is happening.

You can work around this by integrating your AW (or Flash or another ActiveX)
a function JavaScript such as documented on Adobe.com and elsewhere.

  • Can I preload external MPGs?

I have a long piece that uses a lot of external MPGs in addition to the embedded content. It is on my development machine, but I just watched it with the client on their network of factory and the movie took forever to load. I would put a "Loading" GIF in-between animated, but it does not animate, and even if it had, the room dragging through these charges.

Is it possible to preload the next MPG when playing? If so, how? Also, is there a trick to get a "Loading" animated graphic to play while loading the next movie?

Yes - this means that the CODEC used is not installed on their machines.

You can find on which CODECs are installed on the client machines by research
in the control panel sound and Audio Devices Properties. The last tab is
Material, and there should be a video clip Codes, you can select and display
the properties of. You should see a list of the CODECs installed. Note down
and then go back and re-encode your film with each of them in order to run the tests
    ...

Yes I know it will be a huge pain, but my laptop virginal (mostly) only has
15 CODECs installed. If the client machines are also locked you
suggest, it may have less than 10 installed.

  • Full screen presentation

I have just produced a project in integrating authorware of video clips and flash animations. I made the mistake of when you create it, the definition of the size of viewport at 800 x 600 pixels. Unfortunately, this does not play full screen on most of the machines that it is viewed on. Users are not able to adjust the resolution of their monitors to allow this room otherwise.
I tried to change the properties of the presentation in full screen and readjust all of my text, etc to fit, but when this time play it is almost full screen but my project is displayed in the upper-left corner of the window?
I read that you can put a script in to resize the window, but I can't get it works except the script info I have is incorrect.
Please can someone help me with this problem. Much appreciated! Nina

There should be an example of Authorware file also.

Basically, you need to load a function called coverage of the called u32
Cover.u32. aid should tell you how to load a custom function.

Once loaded, place it in a calc at the beginning of your Authorware piece

    --
    Cover()
    --

    That's all. Nothing else.

If you want to be picky, you can also load the same u32 UnCover() and
-use UnCover() - when you leave the room.

  • Older version (before 2004) of the player running

We receive the Authorware runtime errors when we leave some of our Authorware (upconvertis v. 3.0) files.

I deleted all the custom DOP and she always does. They work very well in Authorware 7.0.2 itself, but not the web player.

I would try to run the previous version of the player. I installed it, but he says "invalid file version" errors in my .aam file.

Any ideas what I need to change in the aw files published by c. 7.0.2?

    Thank you

    > I would like to try to run the previous version of the player. I installed

    > but he gave me "invalid file version" errors in my .aam file.

For this test to work, you must make sure you have completely removed the 2004 player
    first.

    Uninstall it.
Delete the Authorware Web Player to your profile directory
Make sure that the folder system32/C:\windows\system32\macromed has no trace of the AW web player.

Once you have done this, reinstall the older reader.

    Always had errors?

Make sure you that if you have any ActiveX, rtf or any other external content on the screen
because you stop that you delete and download this content before
    Quit smoking.

Authorware development tool is Windows only.

You can package files on Mac.

There is no method with support for Authorware to run on
UNIX or Linux. There are several PC emulators that you can try, but
There is no native Unix solution.

  • Click activeX flash8 problem

    Hi all!
I have a strange problem with my control ActiveX for Flash8. I have a flash, in flash 8, which has a few buttons and scrolling text boxes. For some reason any when I put it in my Authorware piece, I'm permitted in a "click" on the page and then it's just sits. No other buttons work with one click on. For example, I click on the scroll box to scroll down, and then I can't scroll to the top! Everything that is pressed before works only once and that's all, I have to restart to try another button/slider, etc..
I know that it would be optimal to use flash 6 and avoid the ActiveX altogether, but it is not an option. We need some features of flash 8.

I've tried everything I can think of, and I can't make it work. Works fine if just opened in my flash player, I can scroll as much as I want, hit the buttons as many times as necessary, without problem.

I also tried some other flash 8, and ALL with buttons/clicks have the SAME problem.

I thought I could use the wrong ActiveX control? I'm pulling my hair out over here.
Any help would be greatly GREATLY appreciated!

    Thank you very much!

You can do the * window * resizable by assigning to the variable window. But
who * do not * scale the contents of the window. If you need the window
content at scale, look at the Flash or Director.

  • Flash will not play in Authorware

    Help!
We have created an Authorware course with extensive Fash filesand are havig sporadic problems with users being able to view the pages that contain Flash. Does anyone have ideas, what it might be? WE have some users who have problems at all. We checked for browser, Java, Flash player or operating system issues and are short of ideas to try. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
We use AW version 7 and Flash MX 2004.
    Glenda

    Thanks to one and all!

It turned out to be the user's internet settings. One of our IT guys found it. Reset us all the security settings for the default level. Then went into the settings on the general tab and open "view objects". From there on, we removed the Authorware Player, forcing users to re - download a new player. It seems that security settings will not allow the player to download correctly. After resetting them, the user could download the player and display the course successfully. Don't you think that a Microsoft security update could change these settings? Most users don't even know that they are there and that it is possible to change.

I appreciate the time you have taken to try to solve my problem.

  • Authorware error launch of PDF files

    Hi all

I was big into Authorware from 1999 to 2005, but migrated to Flash since then.

I have a program that has 34 lessons created in this time and distributed on CD. This program is starting to become a great use once again, and to my delight, it still works pretty well. However, there are links throughout the CD that will launch a PDF file that are local CD when I click the link, it launches the pdf perfectly, but when I close it, closing the document, but I find myself with a white screen on my program. The program is still running back, but I can't get rid of the big white top box which held the pdf.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Gene

Assuming you have all of the PDF files in a folder called 'pdf', it would be calc icon code something like this:

    JumpOutReturn ("" ", FileLocation^"pdf\\filename.pdf ")

In the dialog box A'ware functions:

JumpOutReturn ("program" [, 'document'] [, "creator type"])

JumpOutReturn opens the application specified in the program, and Authorware continues his presentation in the background. Use JumpOutReturn in calculation icons.

When you specify the program argument, remember to use the exact name of the application. On Windows, it is also a good idea to specify the extension of the application. Unless the application to which you jump is stored in the same folder as the Windows search path or Authorware file, you need to specify the path of the program.

[ERIK: usually you can leave this empty as the operating system should automatically determine the good parent program.]

The document of the optional argument opens another application with a specific file. It is best to store this file in the same folder as the Authorware file; otherwise, you must specify a path as part of the argument. If you specify only the document without specification of program, Authorware prompts you to locate the appropriate application.

[ERIK: same as above, this should not happen in most cases]

The third argument optional, available on the Macintosh, specifies the type of creator of the application (a four-character code) and Authorware helps localize the application on the user's system. It is useful to include the creator type if users may have changed names or locations of the program files. If you ResEdit, about creating a program type use the command read the information. If you do not specify a document, but you're including a creator type, insert a string NULL for the first argument. Jump to other files Authorware (rather than other applications) use the JumpFile and JumpFileReturn functions.

    [ERIK: it is completely obsolete]
