Flash uses a lot of CPU

I don't know when this started, but recently whenever I visit Web sites that use some or a lot of Flash, Firefox slows down completely. When I went in my task manager, I saw that FlashPlayerPlugin.exe was using a lot of CPU (109, 396 k to be exact). Actually, there are two open process. In the past I've never seen these before in Task Manager, but now it is a problem. Any ideas?

Nevermind, I found a solution. It seems that there is a new feature implemented by Flash called Protected Mode. To disable it, you must go to C:\WINDOWS\Macromed\Flash then open a text called mms.cfg file and add the following text: ProtectedMode = 0. To disable.

I use firefox version 26.0 on a Macbook Pro OS X 10.6.8 version and I run these http://i.imgur.com/Co4NlGQ.png and http://i.imgur.com/Co4NlGQ.png extensions. I'm also using these plugins http://i.imgur.com/ZO55Lmq and http://i.imgur.com/IapcvJY and I have disabled all plugins, and which has not helped because the CPU usage always fluctuated close to 10% all the way up to 100% usage.

I checked to see if the plugins are up to date and I updated one of them, but the most recent update of Java Applet Plugin works only with Maverick, which I did not. QuickTime said it is not up-to-date, but when I checked the software update on my Mac, it says there is no update available.

Image of the plugins I checked to see if they were updated http://i.imgur.com/fPuV8vD and http://i.imgur.com/7Uwp5vX and http://i.imgur.com/N0Cz9Tp http://i.imgur.com/6FIwVTv aaand.

Here is a picture of my activity monitor (I got all plugins disabled here) http://i.imgur.com/j6xUudo . As you can see, the CPU usage is 99.6%, which is huge given only, I opened a webpage (reddit) and was not running videos and others. And here's a picture of my activity with more information http://imgur.com/zuY5iMu monitor. The real Mem can go all the way up to 2 GB, which is a bit worrying.

I tried to reset Firefox, which did not help, I tried from FF in safe mode, which did not help, and I even tried to reinstall FF, that did not help. I also tried disabling "using hardware acceleration", restarted my computer, and the issue was not fixed. I used CCleaner to clear temporary files and other, but it won't do any good.

I really want to be able to use Firefox, because I'm starting to be wary of Chrome, but if FF only use a lot of memory and CPU, I'm not sure that I can continue to use this browser.

I feel I hit dead ends on everything I tried, so I'm starting to lose hope. Did someone help any idea or suggestion as to what I should try / do?

I have never seen that, perhaps, simply a reset will fix all the problems.

    NOTE that RESET WILL NOT:

    • Delete bookmarks, saved passwords, Form Data, history, tabs open (if you use Firefox 25 and more).

A discount to ZERO will BE:

    • Delete the Addons, Custom Prefs, Configurations of toolbar, search engine settings

More on reset (and how to achieve it) can be found here.

If you want to be safer, you can save your profile (its likely will not be necessary)

  • What is superfetch? Its in my sTask window manager and he uses a lot of CPU power... .do I need it and what is?

The program is placed in my Windows Task Manager and takes a lot of CPU power, and I wonder what use it perhaps can cause? my CPU usage was 100% and my antivirus uses only 5%.

"Superfetch" and "The host Windows Services" take so much CPU power on i3, 3 gb Sony Vaio!

SuperFetch is a Windows service that is designed to accelerate the launch of the app by preloading some applications based on your usage patterns. Tune-up blog has a good explanation of what it does.

However, it should not be maxing out your CPU all the time. If it slows down your computer, you can try to disable it.

    To turn off:
    Open the Start Menu.
    Type "services" and press ENTER.
SuperFetch. search in the list and right click > properties
Set the startup type to disabled, and then click the Stop button to stop the service
    Click Ok

You want to make sure that your antivirus software is up to date and your computer is clean.

  • Exec.vi "Wait until completion" system uses a lot of CPU. Help

I am writing an application that calls parallel instances of an external program. I have the code of work to run the EXE file with the Exec.vi system. When the completion up to wait entry is set to true on Exec.vi LabVIEW system uses all my CPU. The EXE I am running is an exe of low intensity, and if I don't wait until completion LabVIEW has no high CPU usage. It would be nice, but I have the code which needs the EXE to finish before moving. I'm doing something wrong? I could not find this behavior as a known issue, so I would like a mental health to make sure I'm not stupid fouls. I have attached a demo that recreates the question. The VI called the EXE with lance Notepad and then updates the text in Notepad. I am attaching the source code of the demo EXE as well.

    Thanks Bob

LabVIEW sequentially launches 20 cases of "Idel_EXE.exe" who are getting a Notepad and returns information.

This description is exactly what asynchronous call and collect is supposed to manage.  'Call' treats only the controls, move the VI 'in' data you call.  The "wait on asynchronous Call" does the rest - if the called VI has done and wants to pass 'out' data, this function provides the values.  As I have indicated, if the called VI is still ongoing, wait for asynchronous can expire, return an error (which you can use as a signal 'Wait a little bit longer').

  • Flash player 11.3.300.262 is using a lot of memory

Since the update flash a few days ago, that the plugin uses a lot more memory than usual. He uses normally between 150 MB to 200 MB, but now I've seen him use up to 900 MB.

I noticed that the memory use increases of 5 MB or more, when you browse through a video until I stop the plugin because of the ridiculous amount of memory used.

Please check if all your plugins are up to date. To do this, go to the Mozilla Plugin Check site.

Once you are there, the site will check if all your plugins have the latest versions.
If you see in the list of plugins that have a yellow button to update or a red button update now , please put to update these immediately.

To do this, click each red or yellow button. Then you should see a site that allows you to download the latest version. Double-click the downloaded file to start the installation and follow the steps in the installation process.

  • the process Svchost.exe to netsvcs uses a lot of memory (~ 600 MB) and 100% cpu

I have windows xp edition sp3 family. I hit the power button to hibernate the pc but I think an automatice update was running.  Pc crashes when windows resumes after hibernation. I forced a re-boot, but now the svchost.exe to netsvcs process uses a lot of RAM and CPU. I have a Dell Dimension 8250 with 1 GB of RAM. Svchost uses > 600 MB of memory and 100% of the CPU unless I have stop the DHCP service. When I stop DHCP the svchost stops using CPU and memory affected slowly decreases to about 150 MB and remains at this level. But without DHCP I do have access to the network.

After installing SP3 recently I started having some weird problems, as I lost my printer and had to re - install the software. Also noticed that after re-booting and desktop appears completely empty, the screen turns white and the taskbar at the bottom will appear empty for about 30 seconds, then reappears. PC seems to be more slow tha before installing SP3.

I've tried everything. Nothing stopped the svchost to chew all the memory, virtual memory and time processor. Had to re - install windows xp.

  • Solution for Google Chrome (Helper) by using a lot of ram and cpu on mac os x

    Hi all

Some people have several tabs of google chrome, and it's using a lot of RAM. It also causes the fan go crazy sometimes. I looked for a solution for centuries, but no solution has allowed, until I stumbled upon the simple solution to use a google chrome extension that hibernates unused tabs. The problem has now completely disappeared.

There are a few different extensions that Hibernate unused tabs, but the only extension which has enough options setting to do what I want, is called "The Great Suspender".

You can set the time, after which the Hibernate (sleep) tab. The tab automatically resumes when it focuses on, (i.e., you don't need to then also click on a specific button). And the tabs of the extended day before will remain in hibernation after you restart the computer.

There are many other parameters that can be changed. (After you have made changes, don't forget to click the 'save changes' button.)

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks for the tip.

  • Why the plugin-container is very use 50% of the CPU?

The container.exe - plugin in firefox 4.0 use about 50% of the CPU it forces worst response time for other applications that are running.

Please check if Firefox is running in Windows compatibility mode - see here.

Otherwise, check the extensions, you can run - see here.

If still no luck, please have a read through the article Firefox consumes a lot of CPU resources for other causes possibly.

  • Flash Canon 600 EX - Speedite RT - flash using testfire erratic power

    Hello

For a photography assignment, I had to use an off-camera flash (using the testfire) to capture the different poses of a subject during a long exposure.

However, by pressing the button testfire produced variable results:

    1. the subject was reasonably informed.

    2. the power of the Flash was weak, leading to a very underexposed subject

    3. the test button would not fire at all.

Now, the obvious cause of this erratic behavior would be batteries to be replaced. However battery replacement (using brand batteries good long life) does not solve the problem.

If someone else has countered this problem and if so, is there a solution?

    Kind regards

W, which has no such assignment

When you trigger the test button, the amount of energy it will draw depend on the mode and the settings of the flash.

Mode you are using (manual or E - TTL) and if manual, what power level you have set (for example 1/1 = full, but there is also a 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, etc.)

If give you him a burst of full power in manual mode, you have to wait for the flash to recycle the capacitors before it is ready to fire again.  The capacitors are a bit like rechargeable batteries except for the rate at which you can drain a battery is somewhat limited and a capacitor can pour out his incredibly fast energy.  How flash actually works is to have the batteries to recharge the capacitors until it has enough fire power, and then the power of the flash capacitors (because they can send a power tip to the strobe light).

Most people tend to use E-TTL/E-TTL II mode - or - they use it in manual mode (M).  But there are other modes.

If you want to manually control the flash for your situation, then press the "Mode" button repeatedly until you see the "M", displayed in the upper left corner of the LCD screen (now you are in "Manual" mode and the flash will always fire at the same power level in E - TTL mode, it will try to automatically detect the amount of energy uses and many things can give you varying results because frankly) You asked the flash to automatically detect and vary the power level).

Manual mode is only half the fun... now press the soft key under the LCD panel around the "+/-" and allows you to control the power level.  By default it will pull at full power (1/1).  But you can now turn the wheel to reduce the power level (and you probably want to reduce the power level because 1/1 is a lot of power.)   For example... maybe 1/8 power would be more reasonable... or maybe 1/4 power.

But the other reason to use the manual mode is once you set the power level, it will ALWAYS trigger with the same amount of power (until you change.)

Remember that when you use the manual flash, flash has a 'falling' effect that causes the light seems less intense if the flash is farther or closer to the object.  This is what we call the 'inverse rule of the square law' and it's a law of Physics (not do around him - sorry.)  This means that if you want your subject to get uniform illumination so not only you must use the "manual" mode and set it to a specific for every time... power level but the flash itself must be at the same distance from the subject (if the subject moves... then you need to Flash for the maintenance of this uniform for each shot distance.)

  • Firefox, or the Profile Manager will start. In my task manager, the process uses 50% of my cpu but does nothing. I like browsing with firefox, how do I fix?

I tried to restart my computer, the I tried to uninstall and reinstall uninstall, delete all files of firefox and folders, then reboot and then reinstall. Also, I tried to open the Profile Manager to edit my profile. After you have reinstalled several times and try to open the Profile Manager before launching firef0x, I got the firefox crashed window and the process in the Task Manager always uses 50% of my cpu. The most recent strike and then re - download gives me an error "the file is corrupt" and will not even install the program.

Kill the process that you see, including any plugincontainer.exe, only once firefox has stopped running don't try to update.

Completely unexpected instances of firefox running can sometimes be the result of malware activity.

  • Skype starts randomly using 20% of my CPU

Every once in awhile (randomly), Skype will start and begin to use 20% of my CPU until I put my computer on energy saving. Specifically, I completely shut down Skype because he always seems to do that in the worst of times (like when I'm in a room with other people and my laptop fans suddenly start to look like a Jet engine). If I try to put an end to the task, she just starts back up again. I noticied it also uses some disk use, but not much.

Next time, in this case I'll try to take a screenshot and to post it here. Anyone has an idea why Skype doing this?

Skypehost.ext is not Skype, it's Windows Messenger 10 iApp. You can uninstall this app of apps in settings.

20% of CPU overheating not your computer load, this can be caused by dust or other obstruction of the air flow. Also, make sure that you have installed windows 10 drivers, including drivers of management chipset manufacturers.

I bought an iphone 5 c less than 2 months ago, and even if I don't use a lot of storage, I still almost nothing GB, what it can be?

Apps, music, images, even the contacts you add etc - all of these things take a valuable storage capacity on your phone.

Your backup device, delete it and then restore from the backup, maybe this will help free up space.
