Folder hidden from everyone, he cannot access 'access denied '.

I accidentally hid my folder of everyone, and now still I can't access it. I am a computer administrator and the owner of this folder. The file is on the disk D:\. I tried to view the folder, but it says "access denied." In addition, it does not display the owner change option in the Advanced Settings dialog box. I can't use system restore either because it has been disabled on this computer, there is no previous restore points. Any help would be appreciated deeply from this n00b n00by!

Like a fool, I have authorized Searchqu in my computer - how can I delete file/folder when I receive a message "access denied"?

    Hello

My name is John and I am a member of the support team Searchqu. I'm here to help :)

There is no need to worry-, it is not a virus or malware, Searchqu is a browser setting and can be easily uninstalled by taking these steps:

Go to control panel > Add/Remove Programs > find the windows searchqu toolbar > Uninstall

Make sure that you run 'as administrator'.

  • Ent of Windows 7. Apart from 2012 - Windows cannot access \\server\share$

I have a treatment of strange problem with part of 2012 R2.  We have a lab with 30 workstations Windows 7 Enterprise.  They all have the same office via a redirection of folder GPO applied to a share on the server of 2012 R2 mentioned above.  All but 4 of them can connect and pull on the desktop the appropriate shortcuts, network folders, etc.

The share permissions so no denies explicit.  In an effort to solve this problem, I added everyone and authenticated users, with read permissions on top of the appropriate ad group object that already had read permissions and, of course, SYSTEM and with full control Domain Admins.  NTFS permissions have, of course, CREATOR OWNER, SYSTEM and with full control Domain Admins.  Also, the appropriate ad group has read permissions.  No NTFS clear or rejects the request.

Using the same account that belongs to the appropriate group or my domain administrator account (which has no office redirected) I can connect to all the workstations and all, but the four mentioned above get the redirected folder desktop.  When I authenticate my account with DA and try to connect to the share on these four computers I get the same error to the user:

    Network error

    Windows cannot access \\SERVER\Share$

You are not allowed to access \\SERVER\Share$.  Contact your network administrator to request access.

I think we've all seen this error before.  But I only saw him associated with NTFS permission issues or sharing.  Frankly I'm perplexed.  Any ideas on what's going on?

Edited to add: I don't think it's a problem with sharing.  Clearly, it's a matter of workstation since 26 of 30 machines Win 7 can be connected without difficulty.  And I don't think it's a matter of profile either since I've never authenticated on these workstations with my domain account.

This issue is beyond the scope of this site (for consumers) and to be sure, you get the best (and fastest) reply, we have to ask either on Technet (for IT Pro) or MSDN (for developers)

  • Trying to delete a folder from the command prompt: access denied.

So, I just get everything from my old computer to a new computer, and now I have a bunch of additional folders and files that I can't get rid of.  I can't support, I get an error when I do this.  I can't remove them through a command prompt, it gives me the same error I get when I try to take possession or delete normally.  How can I get rid of these files?

    Hey BetterWithLinux,

Have you tried running in Admin mode?
Give that a try and let us know your results.
    Thank you!
  • Access denied administrator

I made a folder on the desktop by right click new folder.

then subsequently decided "I don't want this folder."
So I tried to remove it. He told me "you need give the administrator permission to delete this folder.
no idea why it says this when I'M an admin, but I say 'Continiue.

    Denied...

You need authorization WINDOWS\myself to make changes to this file (funny, I am logged in as myself)

    Try again..

    no go.

I tried to navigate to the folder and delete the subfolders, always denied.

I ran CMD as administrator, to help I tried to rename/delete file, access is denied.

as an administrator in CMD, I tried icacls to / grant everyone: F/t
    access denied

    ICACLS to grant the administrators/f
    access denied.

I'll double check that I am administrator by looking up the name of the window to CMD

    "Administrator: C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe".

so, I guess that administrator is not really administrator is it?
and I have a permanent folder on my desktop?

    Edit:
I also tried right click and enter the security options for this folder, Windows is unable to determine who is the owner of this folder is denied any attempt to take ownership of.

  • Now I get "Access denied" when I open or start a new project in Adobe Encore CS6. What can I do?

I have Windows 10 Pro and then CC 64-bit but am always according to Encore CS6.  For some time when I opened again, it opens but if I try to start a new project or open an old one I immediately get an error from Adobe that says "access denied!"  I don't know what I am being denied access to that I am the administrator, but nevertheless I can't use yet.  Anyone had this experience?  What can I try to beat it?

It is not the same as running "as Administrator". First try.

I tried to change the attributes to no hidden, but every time I try I get the message error " is not accessible. Access denied» I am logged on as administrator... I made a stupid mistake! I use windows XP, No 7...
I also tried the system restore. I can now open the main folder and all subfolders and files are still inaccessible...

    Hello

    Thanks for choosing Microsoft Community!

I understand that you are unable to view a folder it says access denied.

    Please answer these questions:

    1. don't you set security permissions on this file?

2 have you made any changes to the computer before the show?

Allow to refuse has precedence over the permissions, so if you accidentally clicked the box "Refuse" in security options, you may have removed your ability to edit the file in some way.  And since you are the administrator, it means that you will not be able to delete the folder at all.

At this point, your best bet is to try to take ownership of a file and then change the permissions.

    See the following article:

Appropriating a file or a folder:

Hope the helps of information. Don't answer if you need assistance, we will be happy to help you.

  • Cannot access the Cookies, the "Access denied" message folder in Vista

I had problems with my computer for some time now. Various problems such as being not able to install updates for one reason or another (I think I got that one without screw it too many other top! haha)

The question I have now is with my Cookies folder. It is said there (C:\Users\---\Cookies) "is not available"... "" Access denied ".  Why is this and how to "reconquer" access? And how, all of a sudden, what happened? A person may delete something, they shouldn't have? Or Whaat?  Aaah!

    * original title - Cookie file: ACCESS DENIED - has had no trouble with her before! What is going on? *

The C:\Users\---\Cookies file is a hidden, protected from the operating system that is not intended to be accessible to users.

To be more precise, it is a junction point that points to the folder that is accessible to the user C:\Users\---\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies

  • Cannot access any shared folder on the network of windows 7 Professional

    Hello

I have a very strange problem.

I have a home network with 4 computers.
I can share files from any computer to the other.

Recently, I bought a new laptop Lenovo E530 in with Windows 7 Professional installed on it.
The problem is that I can't access any shared folder on my home network by '\\com-name '.
I cannot yet access the folders on the computer that is shared from the inside, by specifying there name with the prefix "\".
However, I can ping or even make remote desktop on other computers on my network.
I can also access shared folders on my Windows 7 Professional from other computers.
Looks like there is something wrong with the configuration of my OS from Windows 7 Professional blocking access to any shared folder on my network.
I get the following error message:
    Windows cannot access \\comp-name
Check the spelling of the name. Otherwise, it could...
    Error code: 0 x 80070035
The network path was not found.
I tried to use the button to diagnose, but without success.

  • Cannot delete the folder (access denied / authorization to administrator)

Recently, after a good 6 months to give a fair chance to Windows 8, I decided to reinstall Windows 7 on my laptop. Installation went very well, no problems (it's the original operating system on this machine). When I installed 7 I didn't format my drive, and so all my files/directories have been moved to the Windows.old folder. I had already backed up everything so I tried to delete the record and was invited to give permission to the administrator. I clicked through and received the error message: you need permission from TrustedInstaller to make changes to this file.

I know that this problem is everywhere, but before dismiss you this as a pointless post, that's what I tried (unsuccessfully) solve this problem:
    > Delete manually CMD with elevated privileges (no results, "access denied" after each item has been deleted in vain)
    > Turn off UAC (no change)
    > Delete using Shift + Delete to bypass the Recycle Bin
    > Add a DWORD value in the registry (UseSystemForSystemFolders)
    > Start in safe mode with CMD prompt, could not remove with CMD or via Explorer
    > Activate the hidden administrator account and remove using the Explorer/CMD
    > Change the folder permissions, raise my account permissions and creating a new user name or the group with my account with full access
I spent the best part of 24 hours trying to solve this problem. I would like to avoid reinstalling Windows because I had already transferred 200 GB of data on my computer before I realized it was a problem. Any help to fix this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the reply. I totally forgot to include Unlocker on my list of failed attempts. It has disabled a lock that was in place, but has not changed and he could not remove the file. I tried to move the folder into a zip file too, so I could delete just that but while I am able to move the folder on my drive hard I can't move it to a zip archive.

Sorry, I thought that Unlocker is worth the try.

  • cannot access the folders of hidden files "Application Data", "My Documents", "Local Settings" etc..

I have a few hidden items in the directory to my windows user account which look like shortcuts, but are of type folder and are named 'Application Data', 'My Documents', 'Local Settings' etc.

If I try to access the folder, it says:

    C:\Users\xx\My Documents\ is not accessible.

    Access denied

Where he comes from and can remove the?

It is, in addition to user accounts by default Windows, single user account on this system, which is of course also an administrator account.

... I also get the same message when I try to access the Documents and Settigs on my C drive...

A clarification would be much appreciated!
