Free capacity monitoring tool

Hi all

I am looking for a free tool for the report on the ability of vCenter. Is anyone aware of any good thing that is there? I just tested on vBenchmark, but which is not exactly what I'm looking for. Something that can show the graphs for memory, CPU, and storage on a per-cluster basis would be nice.

Thank you

Scott

As Mustafa said, try Veeam ONE Free Edition. No restrictions on the number of hosts you can monitor and report on. 24 / 7 real-time monitoring. You can learn more about this product on the link has already been mentioned.

  • Combine the free capacity of different disk group

    Hello

I have Dell PowerVault MD 3000i. I have the free capacity of two different disk groups. Two groups of disks have the same RAID level. Is it possible to combine the free capacity of these two groups?

    Thank you.

No, this isn't an option. Your only choice is to make 2 different virtual disks.

In the operating system, you can be then able to combine them, but this has usually few drawbacks with respect to performance and reliability.

  • Strength of re - download all the data the Capacity Planner tool

    Hello

I have a situation where a colleague installed Capacity Planner on a site and left on for more than a month before having a capacity planner account in the warehouse of VMWare (optimize.vmware.com).

This means that the tool has been happily collecting data locally but he not sent to the Web site.

He obtained his full story last week and made the link to the online store by registering its local database with the site ID. However, it seems that the capacity planner tool has not downloaded all the data it has collected - he made only in the last two weeks, and it doesn't seem it's going to 'catch up' and recover old data.

I looked in the local Access database and you can see all the old data in there. Question - is it possible to force a re-synchronization of all data in the local database, while the old data are sent to the server? I tried Admin/Options/Modules, enter the work of data synchronization and uncheck everything except export data collection and send data, then manually run this task of data synchronization, but he only made a partial dump of the data.

If the data have never been sent to VMware.  The data must be in the folder "c:\program files\vmwaer\vmware capacity planner\outbox.

If the data have been sent, and archive check box has been selected, the data must be in the folder "c:\program files\vmwaer\vmware capacity planner\archive.

If the data has been sent and the box archive was not checked, then the data will be only at VMware.  You will need to contact vmware to reprocess data.

  • Capacity Planner tool query

I have following queries about this tool:

1 can I use several model material for one scenario for example if I need to develop two types of material saying low and high-end and would like to place the result of the VM, is there an available way to achieve this?

    2. If the server under evaluation receive their IP address of the DHCP server and evaluating servers go down during the assessment and it comes back later with diffferent IP how corelate the previous data?

    3. as a follow-up to Question #2, what happens if the IP remains same. It will be able to collect data from the systems being evaluated?

    4. I need to understand the "Averge industry" in detail. What is the basis of filling it and how he is referred to as "Standardized", without providing details.

First of all. My experience of the Capacity Planner tool is old, then you want to dubble some offsets verify what I say.

    1. you must decide what systems are low-end and high-end. Then, you make a scenario using the 'high end' group modeled on high-end hardware. Then, obviosly, the Group of low range on a low-end hardware. To my knowledge there is no way for the Capacity Planner automatically determine what are the high or low end systems and plce on different hardware models.

2 capacity planner will then see that as two different systems, BUT, even if you have a DHCP server based Park (which is not so common actually) server and the server has been down longer the term of the lease to configure the DHCP scope the first thing that the server will ask you when it comes is back the permission to use the last him, called IP address. So if that is not granted to a plaintiff again the server will come with its old IP address in most cases.

    3. Yes

    4. the 'average/standard industrial' is simply statistical. For example if the average of 1000 SQL servers out there shows a specific behavior and your SQL Server performed way differently (uses a lot more resources), then you might want to consider why your implementation is so different. To avoid purchase Super material just to accommodate a messed-up SQL Server when you might be happier with a slower material, or less, if you just set your SQL implementation. That's all.

  • Oracle EPM 11.1.2.1 monitoring tools

    Gurus,

could you please let me know what are the available system monitoring or performance monitoring tools for oracle EPM 11.1.2.1 or where are involved licenses and what are the best areas for manual procedures monitor the system?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

Surveillance is a general term. There are many 3rd party available tools that can provide surveillance, all depends on what exactly you are looking for.

Oracle has a document on the implementation of Oracle Enterprise Manager to monitor the Hyperion Applications: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/sys9-oem-integration-1-129287.pdf. Analysis of the performance, you can also watch this: https://blogs.oracle.com/pa/entry/epm_11_1_2_how3. This will basically connect to the JRockit JVM and study the performance of the web application.

If you want to do more surveillance (services, servers, CPU, processor), you can watch in Hyperic HQ: http://www.hyperic.com/. They have a version open source and Enterprise version. I used the version open source myself and it is pretty well and plays well with Windows. You can see several metrics, charts and information via the web-based application. You can also configure alerts email on certain activities (stop, start the service) and also monitor the availability of the Web site. To be a software open source, I think it offers a lot and it is very reliable.

Again, here's a few suggestions. There are many tools out there that can accomplish what you're looking for.

    Kind regards

    Luis

on more than 600 computers using IP via DHCP Server. I want to follow the network if there is an unauthorized computer/device to connect to the network.

Could you please tell me what software to monitor the good on this network system?

    Best regards

    nocandcan

NMS = network management system. Not a product itself but a type of product.

Regarding your original question - it depends. Many products can monitor what devices are connected to your switches.

The big question is how can you decide which ones are allowed? They need to provide authentication (for example using 802.1 x)? How can you account for printers and other peripherals without a supplicant 802. 1 x - MAC Authentication Bypass (MAB) is the Cisco solution.

Whatever the technical solution that you choose to apply your policy, they generally have their own management (such as Cisco ISE) tool or can generate a minimum syslog messages (like the basic 802.1 x).

You can send off syslog messages to something as simple as a server syslog on Linux (free to buy, requires the most work and know-how to use) or a more complete product (increased costs according to how much they do and the size of your network is).

A popular tool for syslog management is Kiwi Syslog. It is available in a limited freeware version or a version licensed by SolarWinds. (Link) If you move up to the more expensive SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor (NPM) it also includes a more complete syslog Viewer.

  • What is the best way to protect against keyloggers, monitoring tools, remote access, or whatever it is that allows someone else to access my laptop? ___

    History:

Recently, I've had my laptop taken in charge and had to spend the money to have everything removed and reinstalled XP. I don't want it to happen again.

    Currently, I installed the following:

    • Ad-Aware
    • SUPERAntiSpyware
    • Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
    • Spybot - Search & destroy
    • Command AntiVirus
    • Sygate Personal Firewall

    The question:

I'm still not convinced that I am protected. Most likely because I'm not.
An Ad-Aware scan found a tool called "Win32.Monitor.SpyBuddy".
a few days only after reinstalling XP. There are probably more.
I don't know that he even went. It just says: its been "Quarantined" and there is no option to remove it.

Basically, I just want to know that my computer is protected from keyloggers, monitoring, & people tools remote access to my laptop. And I don't want to spend more money.
How to achieve this?  An answer would be GREATLY appreciated.

Do not try to rationalize anything. Just tell you what I know and I hope that I will find the absolute best way to keep keyloggers, tools of surveillance, & virus off my laptop in the process.

You have been very helpful and I thank you.

  • I downloaded "free" MS Removal Tool, then discovered their lie and I had to pay $59.95 to activate

MS Removal Tool has taken possession of my computer.  I downloaded what was advertised, fraudulently, as a 'free' program, only to find out that I had to pay $59.95 to activate it.  I refused, and then discovered that ANY of my programs worked, so I went back and I purchase, and then things started working.  Tehen, a screen came up with a license agreement, and I clicked 'CANCEL' instead of 'I AGREE';   once more, NONE of my programs worked so I tried to contact Microsoft, but it is almost impossible, where this note.  Any suggestions?  Complain to the FCC?  Forget Microsoft and go to Linux Ubuntu?  The problem is with my Dell 745 running Vista Business.  Since it is now inactdive, I'm typing this on my laptop with XP - Pro.  I also have a desktop IBM running Linux Ubuntu 10.10, and I love it.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this situation?  Microsoft is one of the many who use dishonest and deceitful tactics to 'hang' their 'brands...  Anyone else out there with experience with this tactic?

  • Network monitoring tools

What are the standard tools that I should have for network traffic monitoring in vSphere that can use port-mirror inside a vswitch to analyze traffic?  Which providers currently offer these and how do they compare?

    Hello

I think that this question boils down to the requirements and $s you want to spend. The key is to determine what you need to do first. There are several tools that make sense to use, but not knowing your full requirements, your existing incident response times, it is difficult to recommend a solution. You need to just Splunk or you may have something of the order of RSA Security Analytics. Or you can go to tools of active response.

My recommendation is that you take the time to attend RSA Conference (www.rsaconference.com) in April and look around, talking to vendors, etc. There are a multitude of solutions that may work for you. But first go with your needs (regulation + companies).

  • Free simple Rectangle tool

Adobe®, in its version of the CC2014, has introduced a new tool called the Live Rectangle. It is a really great feature but has a huuuuge limitation: it is not align the grids, points and objects correctly when resizing!

Since we do not know if adobe will solve this problem and there is no option to replace the Rectangle Live with the classic one (simple) by default, I decided to write my own plugin (available for free for personal and commercial use) that mimics the behavior of the 'old' Rectangle tool It does not replace the Rectangle to live: it works completely independent!

My clear Rectangle tool correctly clings to the grids/objects/points and correctly aligns the point of grid/then of resizing. Of course, it supports the keys SHIFT and ALT/OPTION, snap to grid options and guides. In other words, it works almost 100% identical to the Rectangle tool, we know by CC (17.1), CS6 and earlier versions.

The installation package (zxp) adds "Plain Rectangle Tool" icon in the control panel of AI (curse you can assign your custom keyboard shortcut it as well)

    PlainRectangleTool-Ai-Toolbar-Icon.png

Note: The simple Rectangle can be easily converted into Live use object > shape > convert Rectangle

Enter your copy at http://63mutants.com/subc/products/PlainRectangleTool_m01/PlainRectangleTool_m01.php and share it with your friends.

    It is completely free.
