When I try to save on my seagate mass storage disc, it tells me to have a cd ready to the (all my computer) option, but not in the partial backup option, so after 7 hours later because my seagate 320 GB has so much data on it and it saves it as, the right backup program bounces on without option to insert a cd in the drive. So now I'm in another hour 7 delima. Is there a way to find th drivers to put on a cd for the function f6 on my restore acer 5100 option, or a fix for this problem windows so I can put all this time?
I have not found my answer in the forum can u tell me how or where windows put this if I can copy the drivers on a cd it can read the f6 function?

Windows Vista will not see Seagate 320 internal drive to format
I bought a 320GB Seagate (7200 RPM) opportunity and I'm trying to install Vista on it. The computer BIOS sees the drive, but loading Vista it does not show the HD as an external drive and ask drivers for it. The disk has been previously formatted for Mac.
Try to use SeaTools for Windows. See also: Seagate Installation Assistance
Please note that the hard drive needs to be internally mounted inside the computer because Windows Vista will not install on an external hard drive.

Satellite X 200-219 overheating all on the line and stops
OK, I've lived originally in the United Kingdom, where I bought a Toshiba X 200-219.
Since then, I moved to the States, and have the laptop plugged into a surge protected extension, attached to the converter plug. After the warranty is expired on the laptop, I upgraded to 4 GB of RAM and over two Seagate 320 GB 7200 RPM hard drives.
Now since I moved to the States, the laptop has been overheating, more and more frequently even * before * I updated components; This happens usually all in game. I have been regularly blowing dust that may have settled inside the vents with compressed air
But this time it's different. I played Red Alert 3, and he did it 3 times. When the laptop during the heat, I have to remove the power cord, then reinsert it before starting. Except the last time I tried this, the laptop has not begun. There is absolutely no sign of life of the thing, even after cooling for the last 2 hours. There was still all lights recognizing that the power cord is plugged. Oh and I have replaced the fuse so it is impossible that (the battery is in the back in this case)
In the United Kingdom, the laptop ran at a normal temperature. Here, it was running hot to the touch and the fan was screaming but it was manageable.
He ran even hotter on the odd game I played, but not while films en/decoding.Please don't become one of * those * threads where everything runs out and I do not get a response. Any ideas please?
Happy holidays people

Hello
Overheating is a serious problem, because high temperatures can damage the internal parts.
The internal temperature will rise to a higher level, because all devices such as the CPU and GPU are running with high performance all in game.
In this case, the module cooling fans must turn more quickly to make sure that the hot air blowIn many cases, the cooling modules may not work properly because dust and debris clogs the vents or there is not enough thermal paste between the CPU and GPU or cooling module.
In addition he s not recommended to use NON-Toshiba graphic drivers because these not Toshiba graphics drivers are not designed for the use of the laptop and can lead to overheating problems.
You must also make sure that there is enough free space around the laptop. It is important for good air circulation costs. But of course a faulty cooling module could be also responsible for these overheating problems, and in this case ONLY the ASP would be able to help.
Welcome them

I like pictures being in my folder my pictures of network, because I have to log on as an administrator to change or remove. Don't like a backup so none of the body screwa originals upward.
So I don't think I want to add an external hard drive. Rather, I would install a 3rd internal drive. What do you think? Thanks for the advice and help.
I re - explain my comment ' I would buy 1 t in the car, one of these: Seagate or WD .
According to your redundant backup of the file system and knowing a 1 t formats 931 GB of usage, it is 3 times your C drive. Then, I'd get the free Seagate Disk Wizard (application of cloning). WD has the same program.
I'm removing the E drive and install the new drive. Then run the clone process. "After that, I remove the old C drive and install the new drive in its place (using Sata0 son).
After opening the case and removing the hard drive cage.
(1) disconnect the cables from the back of the drive e (E is attached to the Sata1 on the motherboard). If your unable to determine what is E, just disconnect the wires of a player. (The largest is the power, the data cable is small). Then try to restart the system. Only the C drive will start. Once you have determined that C is still connected, install the new drive, attach the wires that were used with the E drive.
(2) use disk management and format the new disk 1. It will set up to 931 GB.
Read the Manual Disk Wizard. Article 15, beginning on page 85.
(3) using the disk wizard, the cloning process is selected.
(4) the process should create a new 921 GB C and D about 10 GB. It will create an exact copy of the old drive.
(5) at the end of the reboot process. Wait for the desktop to appear and then click stop.
Now:
Remove the cable from the new drive. Fix the wiring in the original drive to the new drive. Now, turn on the power. The system should boot, if you did it correctly. Perform a shutdown. You can now remove the old C drive. You now have 320 GB (2) disks, you can use. I recommend you only to keep the old C drive intact for a few weeks.

Satellite A200 - question format HARD drive after replacing
Hello
I know this is probably a stupid question to ask as I am not that great with computers.
I have problems with my hard drive from my Toshiba Satellite A200 laptop. Now, when I took it out it was a 120 GB so I bought another Seagate 320 GB hard drive to replace it.
Now can I just put it back in or do I have to format the known brand hard drive. So if anyone can help it would be much appreciated
Thank you
Hello
New HARD drive should be recognized by the laptop properly.
If you purchased a HARD drive 2.5 SATA, so I put t see serious reasons why this HARD drive is not working.Once the HARD drive has been replaced, boot from the Toshiba Recovery disk and follow the instructions on the screen. The HARD drive must be formatted during the installation procedure
That article should work -
How can I install software on a disc for an iMac 17 "2006
I have a 17 "iMac Core duo 2.0 end of 2006 model A1208 (EMC2114)
The hard drive does not so I replaced it with a Seagate 320 GB Firmware RP13
I also upgraded the RAM to 4 GB DDR 2 665 years.
In the diagnosis of the disk utility window, I checked all the components, optical drive, ram etc, all looks fine.
Whenever I try to install OSX 10.5 software all that he says; Mac OS x cannot install software on this computer
Then I go into disk utility formatted the disk, I tried Fat32 and journaled Mac
In both cases, all I get is the option of disk utility.
I tried to install 10.3 or 10.4 but with both of them, he never read the DVD
I went on this loop has dozed times, I also tried the option key or command in fact all of the options that I could online, none of them gave me different results.
I don't have the diskettes of origin provided with the computer as it was given to me.
Thanks in advance
If you use gray installation disks from another computer, it will not work. You shoukd probably get a detail of disk in Snow Leopard http://www.apple.com/shop/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
You can use disk utility to partition as 1 partition using the GUID partition scheme and format as Mac OS Extended journaled. Then install OS X and update using software update.

What 500 GB SATA drive is compatible with the APS Thinkpad?
I want to upgrade the main drive in my W500 at 500 GB, or possibly put the biggest drive in Ultrabay W500 carrier. I would like APS to work for the two discs.
Does anyone have a * real * experience of the use of the APS with such a high capacity drive?
I think the Hitachi Travelstar 5K 500. B family of readers (9.5 mm in height), but the OEM hardware manual doesn't speak any "Immediate unloading" command (which - I hope I have this right - does not write unwritten cached buffers but parks immediately drive), only the command "immédiate Idle" with function "unload":
Unloading feature:
The UNLOADING FEATURE of the IDLE IMMEDIATE command allows the host immediately unload the head. The device stop reading to come if it is ongoing. If the unit performs a write operation, the device suspends writes data cached on the support as soon as possible. Data in the write cache is stored, and the device takes over data cached on a writing material after receiving a software reset, a Hardware Reset or any new command except IDLE IMMEDIATE with the UNLOADING FEATUREI phoned HitachiGST support, and they told me that large OEM's like Lenovo order their discs with custom firmware OEM versions and support Hitachi were not informed of what are the characteristics that could affect.
In theory the Lenovo readers could use a different command for "Immediate Idle" code of practice regular, unmodified firmware does not support.
Anyone with more information?
I ended up buying a Seagate 320 7200.3 drive 7200 RPM with integrated protection of the 'G-force '. Leaving active APS has not led to compatibility problems: the drive Park when the laptop is shaken, but I don't know if it's the result of the APS system or the built-in accelerometer.

CMT Compaq dc7100 Dual Boot, Windows 7 Pro and XP Pro
Tile: CMT Compaq dc7100 Dual Boot, Windows 7 Pro and XP Pro
Hello everyone. My computer is adjustable having the dual boot with Windows 7 Pro on disk 0 (320 GB SATA Seagate Barracuda 7200.11) and XP Pro disk 1 (40 GB SATA Samsung SP0411C). As the two systems are available at the start but most all the time Windows 7 Pro would use. The computer is Compaq 7100, WCL PP255US, 3.2 GHZ Intel Pentium 4, 3 GB of ram, Council ch h 0968, bios HP 78 1 v01.05 16/06/2004, chip Intel 915 G Express. According to the website of Seagate Barracuda 320 GB with (quote), ' he not there no master/slave because every player relationship is considered to be a master in a relationship from point to point.» If two drives are connected to a Serial ATA host adapter, the host operating system considers that the two devices as if they were the two "masters" on two ports separated. Both drives behave as if they were device 0 (master) devices. On the drive Samsung (SP0411C) I put a jumper for master, it is connected to the motherboard instead of disk 1. Used rider illustrated for Samsung SP0411N since I did not see the SP0411C listed. When selecting information for Samsung Seagate site sometimes showed data for their readers. This is perhaps due to the recent acquisition of Samsung or maybe my mistake. Tried swapping around wiring of each drive but that didn't work of course. Looked at the settings in the BIOS but did not see a way to create the dual boot. Please let me know if you need more information. If you know how this can be done or have some suggestions, please let me hear it. As always, thank you very much for your comments.
Oscar
Hello oscarmint, I checked the specifications of your system and it does not show the system supports two types of hard drives.
The system supports only Serial ATA (Sata) synchronous Maximum 150 MB/s transfer rate
You would need to make the jumper on the Seagate 320 GB Sata Drive pin, set at 150 MB/s.
You are right that the Seagate would not Cable Select or slave settings and it would be the master and only on cable.
If the 40 GB hard drive is a type of ATA (IDE), you'd better put as selection of cables (CS).

Hello and thank you in advance,
I installed a seagate 320 g disk in my T60. I used a usb 2.0 to serial ATA to clone my original 100 g Hitachi drive after booting from a cd in ultradrive Bay. Before cloning, I disabled IBM Predesktop Area in the bios setup. When the clone is finished, I have reset the Predesktop Area to normal and then tried to boot from the new Seagate. The system hangs with a totally white screen, cursor blinking in the upper left, after the Lenovo spash and front Windows.
I updated the BIOS of the system about two months ago.
I don't know that he has this driver: installed system32\drivers\Shockprf.sys can create incombatability or how to uninstall Shockprf.sys to test this situation.
I don't know what to try next.
Neil
When you image with Ghost, you must use the ib switch in both directions in the order that you capture four boot sectors. Take a look at this thread and this one, hopefully, they will provide the necessary information.
The installation program with the disks where they are is correct.
Hope this helps

Aspire S3, failing 20 GB SSD?
Aspire S3 gave me with what appeared to be a failed 500 GB hard drive.
I replaced it with a Seagate 320 GB hard drive. Then reloaded Windows 7 and
all the drivers including technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology.
I have run chkdsk on the 320 GB hard drive and that's fine.
TSRI however seems to be marking the 20 GB SSD that comes with the S3.
Should the 20 GB SSD be replaced? Or the zero/reconstruction refurbishment?
I don't see any available technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology prog rebuild option.
I can't get into my bios setup cuz it requires a password that I did not. Yet.
The Aspire S3 has a 20 GB SSD, which is used as a partition for backup memory to disk hibernation only to allow quick recovery, not to start or the loading of applications. All the action, including startup, occurs on the mechanics of 320 GB, hard drive 5 400 rpm.
So I'll just disable the boot entry for TSRI for right now until I can clear the bios password and see what
It could have an impact.
Thank you even when Alan-Landon.

windows xp OEM on new HARD drive transfer
I have Windows XP OEM with key number, but no original record has been received. How can I transfer OS to a new larger HARD drive?
Thanks for assstance.
Many hard drive manufacturers provide an application of free software to do this. Visit the web site of the manufacturer of the new hard drive and maybe you'll find a. For example, Western Digital offers their free Acronis True Image WD Edition software for use with their hard drives Western Digital. Seagate offers their free Seagate DiscWizard for use with Seagate hard drives.
