Freescale in the LabVIEW ARM controller?

Hi all

Is it possible to use the freescale MC9S12XEP100RMV controller in the ARMS of LabVIEW?

Thanks and greetings

Ben aljia P

Hi Suren,

The LabVIEW Embedded Module for ARM Microcontrollers using the "Keil uVision development toolchain to compile, download and debug applications", as this article explains.  (Taken peripheral ARM supported by LabVIEW)

With this in mind, you should be able to use any microcontroller that supports the "RL-ARM real-time library."  Keil device database lists microcontrollers currently supported with this library.  (RL-ARM real-time library)

The Freescale MC9S12XEP100RMV MCU is not listed as being supported.  Knowing this, you will not be able to use the LabVIEW Embedded Module for ARM, but you can use the LabVIEW Microprocessor SDK of Module.  The only difference is that the ARM Module has been built on the Module SDK.  The Module SDK is more "generic" and allows to develop support for virtually any 32-bit microcontroller software.

I hope this helps.

    Hello

How to use CAN, SPI, I2C and UART?

    How to use the OLED?

How communicate between a time critical Vi which runs on the ARM processor and not time critical Vi host that runs on the PC?

    Thank you very much.

    Your Neil

    Hi Neil,

How to write you SD card?

The SD card slot only is not currently supported in point 1.1 of the ARM.  The next version of the ARM should support this device.  Once this is the case, you can access the SD card using the primitives of e/s files.

How to use CAN, SPI, I2C and UART?

I found an example of UART in the Finder for example OR in Modules and Toolkits > ARM > Luminary Micro > protocol drivers > Comm.lvproj series.  I will attach also a project that uses CAN communicate with the LMS2110.  As for I2C/SPI, I suggest experimenting with the screws for this (located on the ARM > palette SPI and I2C) and consultation of the other threads on the use of these screws or create another thread.

    How to use the OLED?

There is an example of this in the Finder for example OR in Modules and Toolkits > ARM > Luminary Micro > Device Drivers > OLED.lvproj.

Is it possible to use the FIFO memory with labview ARM and how?

FIFO on ARM is very similar to the desktop.  These screws are located in the data Communication > synchronization > FIFO pallet in real time.  There are several examples on how to use these FIFO on ni.com.

Is it possible to target the daughterboard with Labview, this Board includes a processor LM3S2110?

You can provide this Commission with CAN, as shown in the attached draft.

How communicate between a time critical Vi which runs on the ARM processor and not time critical Vi host that runs on the PC?

See the related example. RT FIFO If you use the FIFO screws I mentioned above, you should be able to do something similar.  I suspect that the FIFO is used to communicate between a critical time timed loop and while loop a criticism.  The while loop would then use TCP/series (or even shared network variables) to communicate to the host.

    Good luck

  • RT code works since the LabVIEW environment, but not when I create and deploy

I think there are a lot of reasons why this can happen, but I can't seem to pin one.

I have a classic controls program that runs on a cRIO. We recently decided to change the communication of a ProfiBus comsoft on Ethernet/IP card. (Industrial Protocol for Allen Renaud automata). For various reasons, we put the fuse in communication in the control loop.

Now when I run the LabVIEW now, it works fine. I can see data going to and coming from the controller. I can sniff packets and they look good. I get about 30 milliseconds on the loop, which is long, but since I am running in the IDE, I think is not bad. (In other words, I get data in and out every 30 milliseconds).

When I compile and set the binary on the cRIO, it breaks. I can still sniff packets, but what I'm getting now, is that all traffic to the controller of read requests. My write requests are missing. In addition to reading queries are poorly trained. Rather than ask 43 items in a table, they ask 1.

A test that I tried was to disable the read request. For the binary file, I don't see any traffic. For the IDE, I see write queries.

I use LV 2009 SP1. I have the version of NOR-Labs of the Ethernet/IP driver. (We have a request for a quote, but do not have the official driver.) In the meantime, faster I get this done, the happier everyone will be ;-)

    Any suggestions?

I tried to follow this tutorial with the USRP 2932, coming soon, but I found out later that I have seem to have none of the LabVIEW Communications. No not those who prevent me from using the USRP radio? If not, then is there any restrictions on what I can do with the radio without communication?

    Hi BreadLB,

The link to the tutorial you posted is based on LabVIEW Communications System Design Suite, a new software environment designed to accelerate the prototyping of the algorithm and stable air.  It is a completely separate and independent of LabVIEW environment.  See my post here for more details.  You can also download a free 30 day trial copy here.  Your hardware is supported with LabVIEW and LabVIEW Communications.

The 2932 NOR is a network based USRP, and there a small on-board FPGA.  For this reason, the FPGA on that specific product is not a target of LabVIEW FPGA.  The NI 294 x / 5 x family has a large Kintex 7 FPGA and can be programmed using LabVIEW FPGA and LabVIEW Communications, as in the tutorial you posted.  The 2932 OR can be used with your host PC and LabVIEW for a variety of applications.  Unfortunately the tutorial that you have linked to your post requires the NI 294 x / 5 x hardware and Communications of LabVIEW.  If you have questions about a specific application for your 2932, please post more details and we would be happy to help you.

  • Change the language of the LabView controls?

I just need confirmation. If LabView controls, as a graph, have a context menu, then this menu will be first in the language of the LabView IDE, it is used with. If I create a new application, then the manufacturer includes the LabView RTE. It will also be the same language as the IDE version.

Now, if I wanted to change the language of the context menu we will say to the french, it would be sufficient for the user has just installed a version in french of the RTE? Is this correct?

    AJMAL says:
    This will be useful?

Yes, thanks. Another regional setting of RTE would replace the one we provide in our Installer and then the user would have the menu in its language. Very well!

  • SD LabVIEW ARM storage limit

What is the size limit for storage SD card on the plateau of MCB2300 ARM?  I want to use this forum, but you need to know the storage capacity before buying hardware and software.  I would use a 8GB card, but I'm guessing that maybe it's not possible.

    Hello

ARM targets use the RL-ARM flash file system.  However, it seems all only 4 GB max.

With the Flash file system, you can also write and read files on the standard SD (Secure Digital) and memory cards Flash MMC (Multi Media Card). They are used in SPI mode. Sizes of standard device of a little MB up to 4 GB are supported. Files on the memory card reader are stored in the standard FAT12, FAT16 or FAT32 file format.

  • 2013 LabVIEW allows the user to return to the LabVIEW 2012 or 2011?

    Hi all

I have LabVIEW 2013. I noticed that in LabVIEW measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) under the LabVIEW Run-Time 2012 SP1 f2 software is listed. This somehow means I can return or switch between LabVIEW 2013 and 2012 without having to install/reinstall?

The reason why I ask, is that I have several instrument drivers written for LabVIEW 2012 sp1 I want to use.

This is probably a silly question, I know.

On a related note, is it possible to tell if a driver written for an older version of LabVIEW will work in a new version of LabVIEW? Or you just have to play with the software?

    Thank you

    Oh, John

    Hi John,.

More explicitly answer your main question - you can install multiple versions of LabVIEW in parallel (at the same time, on the same PC), however that one version of patch of each major version (for example, 2011, 2012, 2013) can be installed - you can not install 2012 and 2012 SP1 at the same time.

The runtime that you noticed has probably been installed with another component that was built in this environment.

As Dennis said, the big thing to keep in mind is that your screws will have to be upconvertis/resized when moving between versions.

If your instrument driver is written in 2012 LabVIEW using the serial at low altitude of LabVIEW drivers, it will certainly work in 2013.  If you open the screw driver in 2013 and that you do not see workload issues, you should be good to go.  If pilots request DLL or another have external dependencies can be involved more work.

    Kind regards

  • LabVIEW FPGA: An internal software error in the LabVIEW FPGA Module has Unknown

    Sir/Madam,

Note Labview 2012 SP1 installed about 2 weeks ago.,.

Accident occurred during the compilation of an fpga vi who worked satisfactorally in the past.

When I restarted and went to the message recomplile "LabVIEW FPGA: an internal software error in the LabVIEW FPGA Module" see attached picture of popup.

I reinstalled Labview in its entirety and backed out the changes I made to the vi but still get the same message.

    Thanks in advance

    Daryl

It turns out that the question was in the VI and not of LabView FPGA module as the message may indicate. I created a vacuum vi, cut and pasted items in this from the vi error and recompiled and it ran very well.

Somehow the vi has been corrupted internally.

    Thank you it's fixed.

  • Any camera regardless of the interface is available for use with the LabView interface.

    Hello

I intend to go for some CMOS camera,

but I have a huge doubt before buying, the camera of menttioned above is not anywhere in this list. Nor can I see any type being supported USB device.

    The question is

    1. is a camera regardless of the interface is available for use with the LabView interface?
    2. Can I build a VI to communicate with any device image and recording of camera and take the data?

Any kind of help or advice is greatly appreciated... I have to buy a CMOS camera and begin to run.

    Thank you...

    Hello Virginia,.

I am pleased that this information has been useful, one thing I wanted to mention is that USB 3.0 has its own standard USB 3.0 Vision which is currently not supported. If this camera is also Direct Show compatible then you will be able to acquire an image using IMAQdx and manipulate all the attributes that are published to the API Live Show.

I hope that USB 3.0 Vision will be supported in the near future, and we tentatively announced for this standard of communication for the August 2013 Vision Acquisition Softwareupdate.

    See you soon,.

  • Install the LabVIEW DSP Module on Labview 2009 Professional

I have LabVIEW 2009 professional and I try to install the LabVIEW DSP Module on it. I have LabVIEW DSP Module 8.6, and I think that this is the final version. However, when I tried to install it, it says you should have LabVIEW 8.6 on your system.

    What should I do?

    Hello Brandon,.

I did run the LabVIEW 8.6 DSP module, you must have LabVIEW 8.6 (compatibility table), which can be installed and run in parallel with LabVIEW 2009. I apologize for the inconvenience, but 8.6 is the latest version of this module, so you'll need to buy LabVIEW 8.6 for use.

  • A query on the LabVIEW runtime engine.

Can I access front of LabVIEW through Internet Explorer even if I do not have LabVIEW installed in my computer?

The LabVIEW runtime engine works in this situation without the help of LabVIEW software?

    > Can I access front of LabVIEW through Internet Explorer, even if I do not have LabVIEW installed in my computer?

    Yes

Server must have the labview, labview Web Server runtime and should be run remotely front panels.

    > LabVIEW runtime engine works in this situation without the help of LabVIEW software?

    Does not understand the question.

Engine run LabVIEW is a LabVIEW software, which is required to run files executable labview. In the case of remote façade panels screws (exe) running on the server that has the run-time engine. Page Web you are viewing in the browser (client) gives you a picture and monitors where you click on it. It passes those clicks to the server, it changes picture accordingly (going on those clicks for labview, gets the update of this photo). Customer does not screw, so should not be the runtime of LV.
