Freezing at 64% recovery disk

I have a laptop computer DV7 which has had overheating issues as well as to self-extinguish with randon blue screens. We have cleaned the machine from dust that seems to have fixed the problem of heating. My main problem is that we are trying to immage re unit using the provided HP recovery disks. The disc hangs at variouse points, but managed to get to 64%, where he remains for hours, even at night. He said there is no time to finish, the mouse pointer still moves, but nothing works. Is this really a hard disk problem and needed to be replaced?

Sounds like the drive is toast.

Hi, I do not know if this is the right place to seek help so if someone could say the appropriate instance id recognition :) m

My problem is that 3 weeks ago, my laptop started crashing and freezing after exactly 10-20 seconds of starting, I used safe mode and it works fine. So I restored to a point, but which never helped either, it froze again 20 seconds startup.

I decided to use the recovery discs, after I did it, it worked fine for a day, but then started crashing again and then gave me the blue screen that I couldn't read it because it went and turned off, I got it once more and now it seems to work, but I see signs of him to start playing again towards the top.

I don't know that what is the problem with her or what to try to fix it, I thought that full recovery to factory settings fixed everything? My warranty expires in December, while Toshiba will do to my laptop if I send it to be repaired? What can do more: S if it is completely messed up, Toshiba would send a new?
I m do not know how to find out my laptop computer info? :)

Each laptop sticker was on the low side with important information. There you can find the model number, model name and serial number.
It will be interesting to know what model of laptop you have exactly.

Back to your problem: in your ad, it's very kind describes what is happening with your laptop, but it is certainly not possible to provide the exact diagnosis. I can see portable settings with factory works well, but later you will notice these symptoms of freezing. Maybe you have a favorite application and this application is responsible for this behavior. Who knows?

You can contact Toshiba and they will install new OS using recovery image and test the feature but you have already done this. They have also a few special tools to check the operation of the equipment. If there is a problem with the hardware of the laptop will be repaired. You will not get a new. It will be repaired. Please do it if the warranty is still valid. Later, you must pay for the laptop repair.

    Hello

I recently got my hands on a toshiba Satellite M30-107 laptop second hand and decided to freshen it.
I used the toshiba recovery disk, but after that the laptop is no longer support windows.

When turned on it shows booting Toshiba disc for about a second then goes to a screen blank and freezes.
When turned on, once again, a screen will appear an error by stopping and offer the opportunity to start in SafeMode etc but choose one of the options causes the machine to freeze.

    Hello

Sounds a little like the laptop does not start because of the problem of Windows software
You did not recover the M30 with the original Toshiba that was provided with this device M30 recovery CD?

I may be wrong, but to me it looks like a recovery CD incorrect has been used and an image with drivers not compatible m has been installed

You can try to install the OS of Microsoft Win XP original CD and could check if it would be possible to get the notebook ruin using own BONE.

In this case we (you and me ;)) might know if this problem could be related to hardware or software.

  • Satellite A40-151 recovery disk problem

    Hello

    I hope someone can help.

I bascially bought this new laptop altogether earlier and until recently he works very well, but a few weeks ago the hard drive, I think that then, it happened to the extent where everything would load and then the pc would lock or it would freeze on the windows loading screen.

Now, I did a little research and from what I could gather my HDD disappeared.

I then bought a new hard drive for this the same exactually that I had same model, same brand etc and even same GB, which is 30 GB.

I placed in the new hard drive and went to install windows xp on the recovery disks, but now I get a problem it starts and tries to install the os, but about 15% in the disc stops spining and I get an error 437 that the file cannot be run or something like that.

I did something wrong? do I need to buy a whole new operating system? I hope someone can help

    Thank you for your time

If you have purchased this Satellite as new and quite while ago why you pay money for new hardware? If one of the pieces of equipment is defective warranty will cover the costs of replacement.

As far as I know that satellite A40 is old enough laptop model, and I guess that it takes more than two years. Anyway, if possible try to install the OS by CD Microsoft facilities to determine if the OS facilities can be completed. Maybe faulty recovery CD is (some scratches).

  • Recovery disk does not work for Satellite A100-197

I'm working on an A100-197, which would not boot into normal Windows, but was able to start in safe mode.
I used MSConfig to disable all startup and other services. Not good.
I used the system restore. Not good.
I have scanned for viruses, rootkits, etc. None found. Not good.
I copied data to another hard drive in SafeMode with network and inserted the recovery DVDs.
Through unpacking and got message saying to remove DVD - did this and system seems to freeze.
Click the exit button and it restarts, but Windows froze (the movement stopped moving blobs). Tried safe mode
but got a message saying that the installation of the system has not finished.
Tried the recovery again, but this time I left the unpacking screen 100% of the overnight to see if
He has nothing. There can be no. Click on exit and got the same as above.
HDD formatted in partition magic and I tried again. Not good.
Created 5 GB FAT32 partition and DVD files copied to the FAT32 partition. Tried to run the decompression program
back. He refused to run in DOS mode.
I think that connects the hard drive on another machine and RecoUnpack.exe a work PC running to
unzip the files on the laptop HARD drive image, but this is crazy - the recovery disk is supposed to retrieve the
System. What else can I try?

I would say that you have some serious hardware malfunction. Have you ever tried to check the RAM and the processor?
In your case, I would try to run the UBCD4Win (www.ubcd4win.com) and superPI allows to see if the RAM is faulty.

It could also be another component such as the motherboard or something on the motherboard (graphics, sound, some capacitors)

It s just a suggestion, but you could really give my hint a chance. ;)
I would also try another HARD drive in this machine, maybe the controller from your old HARD drive disappeared...

  • Problem with the HP G62 recovery disks

    Hello

I'm having a problem with the restoration of the operating system on your laptop HP G-62. When I first bought the laptop, I was unable to make the recovery discs, so I ordered recently a few new HP. Because I have installed Ubuntu on the laptop, I wiped it from the disk hard drive used Wipedrive to remove the old Ubuntu operating system I had installed.

Laptop computer reads the first disc ok and installs the component of windows, but when the screen lights up asking the two disc number it freezes and never installs anything when you try to move anything that used to screen it doesn't matter what and he used to install the second disk. He repeats just 'Please wait '.

    Thank you, Robert

    Hi, Robert:

I can't help you get the recovery disks to work, but if you can read all 25 characters of the product key 7 windows on the bottom of your PC, you can do your own installation disc 7 windows to reinstall the operating system.

    Here's how:

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

  • NB305-01E recovery disks don't work

I tried to restore my NB305 Netbook (windows 7) to its original factory (using the beginning and hold '0') and with the recovery disc I made when I bought my netbook.

No recovery option works. Using the beginning + '0' does not put me in the hard drive recovery mode (everything that happens is that it freezes the boot process until I release the "0" key), or try using the recovery (F12 + recovery disk process) disk bothers me in the process of recovery, but after all of 1/2 hour of good process , the computer and external disk drive crashes with a message "copy files to the disc.

I left the computer all night and there was no progress. It seems that the recovery disc I made is corrupt and I might have to buy a new Toshiba recovery disks. Any suggestions or information on how I can go about buying recovery disc Toshiba for my net book?

    Thank you! JL

    Hello

To be honest I don t understand this with the computer and external drive. You have created recovery image on external HARD disk?

Can you please tell me where you bought your netbook? This European model? I ask this because on the European models, you enter startup options using F8 at startup and fix my computer to start the installation of HARD drive recovery.

In any case, if nothing is done I'm afraid, you must order the original Toshiba Recovery disk for your model laptop from Mr. I don t know where do you live and you can not send good link where you can order but you can contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.

  • Satellite P100 - 160 PSPAAE - recovery disk does not work

    Hello

My problem is that when I used the restore disk provided with the laptop it froze the computer when he was to "expand our files (0%). »
I thought that drive was defective, so bought a new drive of Toshiba (£30) but get the same error.
Machine is now starts rained because the recovery disks erased the hard drive before freezing.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Hello

To be honest, this is the first time I see this error
I doubt that the recovery disk is defective or the drive HARD because as you say it was possible to install Win XP on this laptop

I would recommend formatting the HARD drive again to erase all partitions and format the HARD drive using the Win XP disc. Then take the recovery disk and try to reinstall the new Vista operating system

I had to stop it again using the button / stop and it happened about 5 - 10 times, after that I decided to do a full restore using the restore disc. as I was doing that the process is not complete because it crashes when I do this. Go to the Sony website and download the latest Vista drivers for your model.

  • Failure of SMART hard disk - no recovery disk

Hello. My laptop model Vaio VPCF126FM tells me that the hard drive has a failure (mini-message). In fact, the machine boots and I can connect to Windows, but once I try to do something with the fact that it freezes the HDD led on fixed. I have all my data backed up, but... I never created the recovery disks. I'm sure that this machine is out of warranty. So, what are my options? Buy a new HDD of, say, Amazon? And more important still, what OS? Thanks in advance for your help. Best regards.

I had a similar problem with a SATA drive in my Vaio. It happened to be a Western Digital (WD) 500G drive. I was able to 'fix' with DLGDIAG WD's package with a full scan. You may be able to do the same thing. If the player starts to really not, he can fix that temporarily, or it may not work at all with the repair.

You should always have the hard disk recovery partition, but I don't know how to use it if you replace the disk. You might be able to use an external enclosure for the drive sying and find a way to boot from the recovery partition to build on a new internal drive. Better would be to get your system of sufficient work to create recovery discs, which is what I was able to do. But for now, my reparied drive seems to work OK.

    Good luck!

  • How to create the recovery disk

    Hello

can someone help me create a recovery for my laptop Hp Pavilion G6 disc - 2330 m

    Windows 7, 64 bit.

After inserting a dvd, I went to all the programs/maintenance/create a system repair disc

but it gives the following error:

The system repair disc could not be created

    The parameter is incorrect. (0 x 80070057)

I posted earlier on my laptop freezing and respondent very late in command. I decided to create a recovery disk but have resulted in this issue.

    Help, please.

    Concerning

    Maury

I suspect that the operating system on your laptop is probably not an OEM copy because of which the Recovery Manager is not available

FYI, if the Recovery Manager was available, you can restore (restore your laptop back to the factory State) without the need to create recovery discs. The D:\ disc that is the recovery partition that would help you to do on your laptop.

Try these steps and see if it works.

    1. click on Start button and type "devmgmt.msc" without the quotes and press ENTER key

    2. right click on the drive D:\ - HP Recovery partition and select Mark Partition Active.

    3. what would give you an alert/prompt, where you must choose Yes brings you to the Recovery Manager screen and restart your computer. You can follow the link that I provided above to start the process of recovery on your laptop.

    Note:

Please backup your files before recovering on the laptop that it would result in the loss of data.

  • Recovery disks did not work! Reinstall bunk! Ideas?

    Hey guys,.

I had problems freezing during startup on my vaio vgn-aw120j with windows premium 64 bit and couldn't get 30secs without making it not responsive, so I tried to run the startup of the vaio recovery partition repair. Message said that windows could not fix the problem automatically. So I tried of the recovery DVDs I made a few months earlier. Same question. Ran check disk and he said that the main file table has been damaged on the c drive and cannot be repaired. So I used the recovery DVDs to do a fresh install (don't forget it comes to 1 set of 3 DVDs of recovery made from vaio care assistant several months until symptom has shown and is not the 130 MB of recovery disks that you can dl from neosmart.com - which I also tried). I install with the same problem but intensified by getting only windows to start about 1/3 of the time and just freezes on loading for 2/3 screens. Tried to wipe off all the drives and partitions (reset the value of drive to zero and start over). Reinstalled again. Unable to get a boot safe mode at all. The list of driver loading screen freezes before departure. Running windows normally causes gel 100% of the time, usually before the logon screen.

Currently, I have a recovery partition which does not seem to help (because it is created automatically during the installation), a primary partition with my operating system does not start properly and some DVD that does not correct the problem.

What should do? Pop $70 for recovery vaio-issued discs, assuming that those I created is corrupt? It's a disc or hard drive controller arm?

    Please help and thank you.

    TM
