FTP problems and printer network in windows 7

Hello Experts,

We use an FTP server based on linux to save MS Office files on it and the PC client are Windows XP and Win7 and use MS Office 2003 + 2007 + 2010.
There no problem at all on XP based machines regardless of the version of MS Office to connect to the FTP.
Also, there is no problem on Win7 machines using Office 2003.
But there is the problem where we use Office 2007 or 2010 on a Win7 based machine.

The problem is that the option ' add/modify Ftp location' never appears in MS Office applications. If we are able to add FTP through the card reader option, he is able to open the FTP files at very slow speed, but he never recorded any file on ftp after editing or having a few new files.

Also, there is another problem that is a little different but I put the link here, maybe he has links with the above problem.

New computers that come pre-installed with Windows often have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...

For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

  • Problem installing printer HP new Windows 8.1

    Hello

I have a printer HP Officejet 5610 printer I used quite happy with my new HP laptop which came with Windows 8, and then on the advice, I've upgraded to 8.1 Win.  Use this combo since February this year with no problems.

This morning running the printer and started getting printer 'offline' when attampting to print.  Tried troubleshooting by using HP Web sites (including this forum where I found a thread about the mistake of the printer 'offline').  The final recommendation recommended re - install tried as long as.   It appears the togo through the uninstall & then install for this printer, but after a long while I get an error message telling me "fatal error." and the installation is aborted (i.e. reversed out)

Are leaning on what is still connected to my laptop and, curiously, the fax for this printer is listed but not the printer.

Don't know if this can help, but the HP error log...

I spent almost today so far of evil with this & ideas now.

    Can someone help?

    Hello again, kean,

    Welcome to the HP Forums.

I see you have some connectivity issues when you try to print from your computer Windows 8.1 update.

I have some suggestions that in order to solve this problem, we can try.

Click on the first link which explains the uninstall of the printer software.  Windows 8.1 is NOT listed in the instructions, but the instructions of Windows 8 will work the same way.

Software has been removed, restart the computer.  When the computer is back up and running, please do a search for the fax and the printer and make sure that everything has been removed.

The next step would be to reinstall the software and drivers. Click on the following link for HP Deskjet and Officejet full feature software and drivers.  Save the download on your computer desktop so it creates it's own icon.  This will make it easy to find download.  Double-click on the icon and follow the installation instructions.

If troubleshooting doesn't help not solve your problem, then I would say call the HP Technical Support to see all the other possibilities for you. If you call in North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, please click here: click here.

    Thank you for your time.

    See you soon,.

  • remove a printer networked to Windows 8

Wireless printer - HP Photosmart C310, running. Feeder gear is no longer mesh.

Home network - two Windows 8, Windows 7 - two portable computers and one office.

What is the recommended procedure to remove my C310 printer all three systems?

Is there a recommended order to remove and install a series of replacement HP 7520?

With the C310, I used a static IP address to inhibit its propensity to drop offline. A static address is recommended for the 7520 series?

    Thank you

    Steve255

    Hi @SteveKFF,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see you want to uninstall your HP Photosmart C310 software and drivers on the PC 3 and reinstall your HP Photosmart 7520 with an IP address static to keep the wireless connection. I can certainly help you with this. Start below:

Once on the page, select your operating system from the list and proceed with the instructions to uninstall the program:

    Uninstalling the printer software

Now we can go ahead and install your PS 7520:

Installation of the software of the printer for a wireless network connection

Once you have correctly installed your PS 7520, before setting a static IP address, I could wait a few days and see the wireless connection is reliable, you may not feel the need to create one with the newer model printer. However if you decide you want to set on if please click the link below and scroll up to ' step seven: assign the printer an IP address:

Printer keeps no connection Wi - Fi

I hope this helps, if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask!

    Thank you

  • I can't print my epson stylus c86 Windows 7 and a network in Windows xp

I am running XP on a PC with a Epson Stylus C86 connects to the LPT1 port. When I try to print from my laptop running Windows 7, it seems to send the document to the printer, but the printer errors. Any ideas?

Fixed it now. Had to delete the printer, then add printer and search for a network printer.

Someone showed me how to do that was the problem themselves

  • Printer network under Windows 8.1

My works Photosmart 4280 old fine with wondows 8.1 through the forum, but having managed to do work with windows 8.1 my other two computers running windows 7 and are wireless will not contact the Photosmart windows 8.1 computer connected by usb. I have the tested network and file sharing, and type of work. I had the controls themselves, made for sharing the printer on all computers. The printer worked fine on the network until I installed windows 8.1. Any help would be appreciated... Thank you.

Generally, your client machine must use a driver that is compatible with the host computer. Because your host is windows 8.1, your drivers are for windows 8.1, so the previous drivers signal may be different and will not work. Network printing is horrible and has always been. What you can try, deletes the printer completely from your windows machines drivers 7, and there is a configuration of sharing on your machine 8.1, which allows you to specify that drivers can be used, so that you can use older drivers on machines that cannot use the new printer. Once it is setup, you should be able to connect to the printer and windows 7 will get the drivers that are defined in your printer sharing - and then it should work.

It's very high level and I him did not for a few years as all my printers are wireless now, but I hope this helps.

  • Dr Watson postmortem debugger has encountered a problem and stop windows...

"Dr. Watson postmortem debugger has encountered a problem and needs to close windows," not only tries to close windows... it freezes. This forces me to shut down or restart the computer through Task Manager.

This happens when I try to open JPEG with the default windows, program files in a specific folder. The program (in 32 XP sp3) is apparently photo and fax viewer winFX. When the debugger initiates its closure, he tries to send an error report. Within the error of the report data file specifies a "appcompat' divergence. This leads me to believe that there is a compatibility issue somewhere for this folder. (This folder contains several folders of JPEG files and a few vids).

I am able to view pictures of other files, in quicktime, Viewer , but the underlying problem remains with the default veiwer and this specific folder.

Also, I'm not sure if it is independent, but when you try to view video files, they are scrambled and the sound stutters... even with quicktime player.   It's a difficult question because; Here are pictures of family and vids I am trying to display and modify.

I hope there, can someone help me diagnose the root problem and the default player of this folder. Otherwise, I changed the options files to open the JPEG files and video in quicktime. However, I prefer to fix the original problem, rather than simply "he sweep it under the rug." Plus I need to access the above JPEG file and vids, with PC crashing every time.

Thank you for your time and your consideration for reading this post and tryng to help me find a solution.

OK guys, I kind of answered my own question.

By publishing this response, I hope that I can help someone else "self-diagnose" similar problems.

I was able to right-click on the file and copy it to a USB key. Then I downloaded the folder of JPEGs and videos to another computer. I was able to open all folders and files (using Windows Media Player Quicktime) without problem. This tells me that the laptop I took the files of do have enough RAM to see to many files at once. Apparently the folder content on data 3Gigs, the laptop has only 894MB RAM.

It seems that there is a new project in the future lol, laptops. On that same note, I installed 4 GB of RAM (1 x 4) on the desktop, (the same Office I opened media files with) and made improved DRAMATICALLY (from the 256 MB x 2). This office is a dinosaur, but I'm happy to have made this update... it's a lot cheaper than the buy-in of a newer pc, and he cares about today's computing needs.

Do not forget to check with the service manual for your PC, to determine the maximum amount of RAM it can handle.  Install it, or have a qualified technician to do if you do not trust your capabilities. You'll be glad you did.

I'll do the same for the laptop and report back with my progress and results. I hope that I will be able to open those multimedia files on the laptop after upgrading RAM. It would be nice to be able to modify multimedia files on the go.

Thanks to all those who read this post
