Printer network under Windows 8.1

My works Photosmart 4280 old fine with wondows 8.1 through the forum, but having managed to do work with windows 8.1 my other two computers running windows 7 and are wireless will not contact the Photosmart windows 8.1 computer connected by usb. I have the tested network and file sharing, and type of work. I had the controls themselves, made for sharing the printer on all computers. The printer worked fine on the network until I installed windows 8.1. Any help would be appreciated... Thank you.

Generally, your client machine must use a driver that is compatible with the host computer. Because your host is windows 8.1, your drivers are for windows 8.1, so the previous drivers signal may be different and will not work. Network printing is horrible and has always been. What you can try, deletes the printer completely from your windows machines drivers 7, and there is a configuration of sharing on your machine 8.1, which allows you to specify that drivers can be used, so that you can use older drivers on machines that cannot use the new printer. Once it is setup, you should be able to connect to the printer and windows 7 will get the drivers that are defined in your printer sharing - and then it should work.

It's very high level and I him did not for a few years as all my printers are wireless now, but I hope this helps.

  • remove a printer networked to Windows 8

Wireless printer - HP Photosmart C310, running. Feeder gear is no longer mesh.

Home network - two Windows 8, Windows 7 - two portable computers and one office.

What is the recommended procedure to remove my C310 printer all three systems?

Is there a recommended order to remove and install a series of replacement HP 7520?

With the C310, I used a static IP address to inhibit its propensity to drop offline. A static address is recommended for the 7520 series?

    Thank you

    Steve255

    Hi @SteveKFF,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see you want to uninstall your HP Photosmart C310 software and drivers on the PC 3 and reinstall your HP Photosmart 7520 with an IP address static to keep the wireless connection. I can certainly help you with this. Start below:

Once on the page, select your operating system from the list and proceed with the instructions to uninstall the program:

    Uninstalling the printer software

Now we can go ahead and install your PS 7520:

Installation of the software of the printer for a wireless network connection

Once you have correctly installed your PS 7520, before setting a static IP address, I could wait a few days and see the wireless connection is reliable, you may not feel the need to create one with the newer model printer. However if you decide you want to set on if please click the link below and scroll up to ' step seven: assign the printer an IP address:

I hope this helps, if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask!

    Hi Sudieq,

Are you facing this problem under Windows 98? If so, please see the information provided below.

Microsoft ended support for Windows 98, Windows 98 Second edition and Windows me on July 11, 2006. Because they are outdated and these older operating systems can expose customers to security risks. We recommend that customers who are still running Windows 98 or Windows Me upgrade to a newer, more secure Microsoft operating system.

  • OfficeJet Pro L7590 fails to install as a network under Windows 7 64-bit device

I install the full feature software and driver for my Officejet Pro L7590.  I am running Windows 7 64 bit.  The printer is connected by ethernet through my network.  When I get to the step to add the printer as a device, I select it's a wire to it with an Ethernet network connection.  It is my printer and it's thanks to a wired connection.  He then began running diagnostics that appear successful.  It starts to install and is about 50% and fails with no explanation.  My choices are again (which produces the same result) or continuous (just out).

I rebooted several times, turned the printer off and then under tension, but nothing seems to help.

I can navigate to the administration page web printer and it seems fine.  I also have other computers on my network that do not have a problem, but they only use the base, not the full features software print driver.

Have solved it with the HP chat service.  Try to add the device from the shortcut that was installed from the first unknown failure has not worked.  Had to use the full software download and add the device from there.  He acknowledged some conflict that he was able to fix.

  • FTP problems and printer network in windows 7

    Hello Experts,

We use an FTP server based on linux to save MS Office files on it and the PC client are Windows XP and Win7 and use MS Office 2003 + 2007 + 2010.
There no problem at all on XP based machines regardless of the version of MS Office to connect to the FTP.
Also, there is no problem on Win7 machines using Office 2003.
But there is the problem where we use Office 2007 or 2010 on a Win7 based machine.

The problem is that the option ' add/modify Ftp location' never appears in MS Office applications. If we are able to add FTP through the card reader option, he is able to open the FTP files at very slow speed, but he never recorded any file on ftp after editing or having a few new files.

Also, there is another problem that is a little different but I put the link here, maybe he has links with the above problem.

  • To access the files on the network under windows 8 from Vista

I have problems to connect to the Windows 8 computer from the vista computer to access shared files and folders. I have Setup local users on the computer of Windows 8 for the other 3 computers in the office.  When I go to the Windows vista computer, and you try to open the computer of windows 8 on the network, it requires a username and password.  I give it, and he says that me the username and password are not valid. I tried using the whole installation of combinations of name and password user on the computer of Windows 8.  I have also went to the files, affected screen sharing folders that I want to share to "everyone" on the computer of windows 8.  I must be missing something simple; I have two Windows 7 computers, a computer of Windows 8 and Vista computer.  No other three computers can access files of windows 8...

  • Why some of my PC does not appear under "Network" in Windows Explorer?

I think that part of my PC now appears in the section "Network" in Windows Explorer.

Under network, I used to have just the Epson Workforce 645 printer connected WiFi.
Recently, I noticed that some of my C: drive appear there as well.
I now have an entry for my computer name.
Which is the tree that starts with "users". Under users is 'Default', 'Public' and my user name.
    There are all these files.
If I'm going to disconnect network drives nothing appears.
I can navigate the network folders and I can see the same files I see under
These folders under my 'C '.
Any ideas on how this could have happened? Or how can I cancel it?
Thank you for any help or advice.

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft community!
You have reached the right forum for your question. If I understand correctly, you see the "Network" section in the Windows Explorer. I suggest you follow the troubleshooting steps to check if this may help.

If you connect any network to the computer, it appears upwards in the network. If you disconnect the network players, then the network is offline now

  • What printer for Satellite Pro 420CDT under Windows 95?

What printer is best compatible with a satellite Pro 420CDT work under windows 95?

    Post edited by: LizP

    Hello

It's an odd question since this machine with this operating system is REALLY REALLY REALLY old. If you do not want to use a printer of opportunity then I suggest to H.P. older deskjet series (e.g. 870 C or 870Cxi] I had a few years ago, the 800 series with a parallel port on a Tecra 8100 with then first and went from Windows 98 to Windows 2000. It works perfectly under the two systems.

Hope that helps a little... :)

  • OfficeJet 4630: anyone can print reliaby with Officejet 4630 under Windows 10 (64-bit) using wireless?

I have a couple of PCs.

    Both run Windows 10 (64-bit).

An upgrade from 8.1 64-bit. The other is Windows 7 ultimate (64 bit).

I bought Officejet 4630 at the end of September.

So far I have not been able to print from a reliable PC at all.

Sometimes maybe a page can be printed, but if I try the next page. The print queue seems to get hung.

Worse, on a PC (Win7 64-bit upgrade), I can not connect with USB at all.

Immediately after installing the driver, it fails to "print test page"? What gives?

(I have not tried the USB connection with other PCs through the situation. He's far away and so connected via radio.)

Strangely enough, it's the HP printing diagnostic seems to work perfectly. It prints the test page.

But, after a week of Calvary and see how works the test via the web interface, I now have the feeling that

HP diagnostics program simply sends a command that causes the printer to print a test page to itself, and not

through the path of ordinary driver through what print ordinary application data. It can be found.

Due to the failure of printing with a USB connection, I asked local HP support for replacement t

    hinking that unit was bad.

However, the replacement arrived today, but the same symptom!

    Agah.

I'm afraid that HP screwed royally here, but worse yet, it doesn't seem to be aware of the problem in the light of some

Reviews of so-called unconscious support people!

If someone has this printer works reliably on windows 10 64 - bit

Please let us know what you were doing. (although the chance that someone with perfect condition watch Forum HP may be low. You are posting and I read this forum because of problems...)

-How you installed the driver (from which source)

    -which tweaks you did.

I tried to install the OJ4630_198 and the driver is updated to Windows.

Windows Update seems to be a little better, but still stuck print jobs are seen after a few

tests and unnecessary. (Initially because of this apparent initial success, I thought that the problem was limited

so a PC, but now I think that both PC evenly suffer failure).

So far, I tried to change the PORT to a fixed TCP/IP address port (which sometimes seems to be feasible: sometimes not.) I was not able to understand why. Maybe the difference between HP driver or Windows update)

Sometimes after the Ministry of port, the first printing time works, but the

next print does not work.  It remains in the queue.

This has been driving me crazy...

If person not steps forward with the installation of reliable work (10, 64-bit windows), I think I'm going for it back to HP, although the initial cooling period has expired from a legal point of view, I'll see if I can convince the support contact.

I bought HP printers only over the years. They lasted well and worked like a charm, and the black ink was really nice.

After that, I can't printers recomment the HP to my friends more.

    TIA

[Driver in Deskjet 6980 works for printing with capricious 4630]

    Under improved Windows 10, too!

I checked it after upgrading my PC under Windows 7 64-bit of Windows 10.

After a few false starts, however, some programs are missing 'Dropbox' "Norton Internet Security" (?)

sort: I downloaded the binary Moose and once I let the Installer run again, they picked up the proper

configuration of the previous installation and started running.

I needed to tweak 'Register windows' but when I tried to run 'regedit' something 'Extended attributes are '.

inconsistent"and any program that requires administrative privilege would begin: maybe Dropbox and Norton Internet

Security has failed because of this issue. Surprisingly, I could fix this by restoring the default Windows theme.

(In my previous attempt to update, I put it to something Bing, a jazzy theme on the Japanese season, or something.

Affected and surprising finished showing 'Extended attributes are incompatible' (or you may need to

reset the sound theme as well. YMMV.) I raised this strange questions after the upgrade just in case

These problems are related to the Deskjet 6980 under Windows 7 64-bit driver installation before upgrading to Windows 10.

Somehow, however, the previous installation of the driver instance 4630 seems to have disappeared (maybe I deleted it before

the upgrade, I don't know.) So I install driver 4630 for * SCANNING * purposes only.

    FAX can wait a while.

Finally, some working environment for Officejet 4630 with using the Deskjet 6980 driver for printing

    is being created.

    TIA
