  Aloha,

  I am a teacher and would like to put the simple Flash video games for my small graders 1st on our HTML5 Web site.  I downloaded the following files via filezilla

  1 swfobject.js

  2 teahousefla.html

  3 teahouselfa.swf

  When I go to the site it is showing just "ugly site" and not the flash game.  Should I FTP the .fla?

• Extend a VO - FTP question

  I'm looking at this user's guide:

  Because I have a VO on our e-Business system which needs to be extended.
  
  I'm new to JDeveloper, so apologies for the very stupid question.
  
  One of the steps on the doc says:
  

  you must FTP all files in $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps /... /..

  However, using my FTP account, I don't see anything with $JAVA_TOP listed. Would it because I do not have access?
  
  If I have FTP on our Oracle server, I see files such as:
  

  .dt
  .java
  .SPOT
  .ssh
  .topasrecrc
  arffs1
  audit
  bin
  cdrom

  We have other folders corresponding to the instance names - for example
  

  TEST

  And if I look, I do not see:
  

  lost+found
  oracle

  What is an access problem? I'm afraid to ask our DBAs because they will throw things on me, like the sarcasm and derision, asking for things!

• FileZilla ftp questions win7 professional

  I can't transfer files to an FTP site using filezilla on a new PC running windows 7 Professional, he finds the server accepts the user name and password but will not download directories.

  I am on a network behind routers etc but can access the FTP site without problem from another pc in the same office, but its XP running. Same software of FTP client and settings, etc. I tried to shut down windows firewall etc.

  Seems to be a problem with Win 7. All the solutions out there please...

• Download desktop and mobile site FTP question

  I have successfully downloaded my site through an FTP server and now works on the mobile version of my site. When I export my HTML files like I do anything differently when I download via Filezilla since I have the files of the mobile site and desktop files now?

  If you have downloaded the desktop version of the site before you activate the phone/Tablet layouts in your file of Muse, then I suggest that you download all the files again to the server after the export.

  In addition, if there is any reason that prevents you from using the Muse integrated FTP upload function, I advise you to download using that, since this way you'll be able to update your site gradually rather than having to download all the files every time or having to track changes and manually download only modified files.

  It is another way to follow is SmugMug or Zenfolio. In fact my site has its own gallery, but connects also with my Smugmug Gallery for sales. Either way Lightroom has plugins that make it very convenient to download images SmugMug and Zenfolio:

  I use the free server of Comcast as my site. My simple site works very well. I don't think that Comcast allows passwords of directories.
  
  I would like some private on my site from backup files. Is it possible that these files might remain invisible to others on the web, for example placing them in subfolders?
  Is it possible to recover the site using a browser, instead of DW, for example on another computer without DW installed?
  Any other suggestions to accomplish this simple task?

  Easy to check. Connect via FTP and see where that gets you. If you land
  directly in your site root directory where the index.html/.php/ is...
  stored, then most likely you are out of luck. But if you see a directory
  like "public_html" or with the name of your site as "www.example.com."
  then you are a level above the root of the Web server and can safely store
  your files. FTP would be the only way to access it (out of
  direct access by the server, but I hope that you trust your host and
  their admins).

  Because you select a file to download. If you want to download only the files that have changed, use syncronize.

• TDMS file corruption when using FTP

  I use FTP to transfer files a cRIO to computer TDMS.  The transfer looks like it works; However, when I try to open the crowd using TDMS files Viewer, I get an error indicating that the file in not a PDM standards.  That being said, I use Windows to FTP the same file to compare.  I use the PDM viewer to open this file very well... no problems.  Have any ideas?

  Did you find the difference between the size of the TDMS files before and after the transfer? If so, maybe it's quite possible that the "transfer mode" software FTP questions, maybe you can try to use "binary" instead of "text" for fashion?

  I am here today with a common question, which seems to have been answered several times, but none of the above worked for me.

  My problem is the following:

  It's my current installation:

  • Ubuntu Server running 12.04 with installed ProFTPd.
  • Windows 7 computer (desktop) and laptop.
  • Windows File Explorer.

  Here's what I tested, and what are the results I get:

  On my two main computers, each running Windows 7, I get the image displayed above. (For those of you who cannot see the image, there are a stain on the bottom of this question). However, I tried it on two other computers in my LAN, and they work. I also tried on a computer in a different city, and it works. My FTP address is the following: "ftp://ftp.marshalldrive.ca" without the quotes.

  Here are some solutions I've tried:

  1. with the help of Internet Explorer (my current browser is Google Chrome), pressing 'Alt - view-> in the file Explorer view', I get the error displayed.

  2. turn off my firewall and my anti-virus, same results.

  3. go to the file Explorer Windows and in the address bar: "ftp://ftp.marshalldrive.ca" (without the quotes)

  4 import a registry that looks like this: http://prntscr.com/39ee2j (code shown below), using the above, didn't work.

  5. copy of the record of one of the other computers to work.

  6. release of Google Chrome and using IE.

  That's all.

  When you use the browser (IE, GC, PSC), I can type in ftp://ftp.marshalldrive.ca, and it works. However, it does not work when I try to display in the folder view. I get the above error.

  Why am I trying to do?

  -I know FileZilla exists and many others. I like the simple layout of the windows Explorer, and it is easier for the elderly to use to use F.Z. I also prefer not having to install anything and using the built-in module.

  IF anyone can help me I can help you in return. I am creating a file storage system, and I can give you free space on my server.

• FTP and Site Local file, simple question.

  I'm extremely new to FTP and downloading sites, etc., but to learn.

  I have two questions and they are probably both pretty stupid, but here they are:

  1. When you download your site you:

  Download the entire site (local site folder)?

  or you simply upload the pages that are going to be online?

  or is this your personal preferences and does not really matter?

  2. If you have downloaded the entire site there is something wrong with the fact that (security issues, etc.).

  Additional info: I have just a site that no one else is working on or has need access too except me. Passing by JustHost.

  When you upload your site you must download all files that are part of this site and relate to one another.  This includes images, pages, style sheets, and no script file, you have.  The first time around it will probably be the entire site.  After that you need to download that you edit the files.

  If you want to avoid downloading some files, you can hide them.

  If you use Dreamweaver synchronization utility it will give you options to transfer files among other things

  So that, it is best to set your site as a first step

  Your host will tell you your FTP settings and the directory to download.  Your index file (homepage) go and the all elsevshould follow the same structure as in your local site folder

• Difficult question: keep model of FTP files

  First of all, I want to say hello to anyone reading this thread, I'm new to the forum and I hope to help as much as I can in getting the help I need!

  With that issue aside, here is my problem.

  I took during the development of a corporate Web site and have just learned that the previous developer had very little to transfer through.  I could catch pretty well everything what I needed once I had FTP access.  However, I can't locate or get their hands on the model files used to create the site.

  The site was created in goLive, which I don't think there is more.  I see the template file used on all htm pages, but I can't find the file anywhere on the server.

  I was under the assumption that you need the templates on the server, perhaps that this was not the case in the days of goLive?

  The only thing I noticed COULD be the reason why they are not required is all pages (htm file) use the full coding of the template at the top of the page (in the footer). It's grayed out and not editable, but it seems to compile.

  My questions are,

  (1) someone can enlighten me on this question (should I look elsewhere for model files)?

  (2) would be bad practice if I took one of the pages, it detaches the model, deleted content then produced a model from this file?

  Sorry if my problem is confused, I tried to explain it the best I can!

  Hi Robbeh,

  1. Template files (DWT) are only required in the production environment, no need to be online
  2. It's not bad practice in this case, in fact, this is the recommended method.

  A relative novice question: on iWeb, you can configure a page ftp for customers where any file automatically put in your public_html folder gets listed on the ftp page. You don't have to put up a link. Simply download any file in your public_html folder, and it appears on a separate page ftp. How Apple do this?
