  2. click on user accounts.
  3. click on user accounts. Now click on manage user accounts.

  I installed windows 8 on my Lenovo G560 but I don't have administrative privileges for some reason any. I tried the command net user Adminstartor/active: Yes , but still my local account doesn't have administrative privileges (I replaced the administrator with my local account name).   Thank you much for the help that you assigned but I just found the solution to my problem. My account of windows 8 has full administrator rights now, and I can now customize my windows to my taste. I also installed SRS HD Audio, which had already failed to install. I discovered that my Windows 8 has been properly activated. I tried the F8 key and several other than links and I stay locked. everything that's happened has disabled CCleaner and Spybot find and remove as well. I can't run msconfig, or do anything else that requires administrator privileges. I'm trying to figure out Trinity Rescue Kit and windows Password Recovery tool to see if I can approach it that way and get my privileges. Then I can remove programs and get cleaned up.
