Full editing of the source Image brightness in Color Finesse Interface

Hi all

I noticed that my image of source has a brightness/contrast change when I view in full Color Finesse Interface compared to the appearance of the image in the AE composition window.   The image of the full Interface is darker and lack detail in the shadows that I see in the AE Composition Panel.

Please see the attached screenshots

LUT - NONE.pngREAD - NO

LUT 601 Gamma.pngLUT Gamma 601

AE Comp Window.pngCompostion AE window

The sequence is "Color Correction Handbook" by Alexis van Hurkman

How can I correct the colors with a difference like that?, that is the real picture Color Finesse Interface complete or AE Comp window?

Also, full Color Finesse Interface mode, when I choose in the menu display PRIMARY PREVIEW LUT - NONE the image is much, much darker than if ITU. R 601/709 or SMPTE GAMMA are chosen.

I'm learning the color correction, but it is adding confusion to the mix.

Is it my monitor settings, my color profile, a combination of both, or something else.  I read the manual of fineness of color re: Why use a monitor of REAL, but right now, I don't have a real monitor, and right now, my job is mainly for the web.  Web video is seen on a computer, so I think THAT my computer screen should do - for now-, if its properly calibrated and I chose the color space appropriate etc...

In addition, defining the space monitor/color and jazz related all that is very confusing.  Adobe needs to make it easier to put it correctly, or least to write it out in PLAIN - English step by step.

Thanks in advance

I use an AE CS4, with Color Finesse 2.1.12 on a Mac OS 10.6.6

Sorry I missed this thread past.

I just loaded in what I think, it's the same images as you (10_SmilingWoman_Over2shot.mov) where there was a codec problem, and I get a match between AE and CF. it is on a Mac, but that shouldn't make a difference.

Look in the preferences of Color Finesse. On the general tab, there is a check box for "use traditional Gamma. In most cases, you want to be checked. This checkbox has to do with the continuous changes of gamma handling in AE, QuickTime, Mac OS X, etc. Provide us with as an option so that you can get a match.

There is a checkbox similar to the display of external control in the tab previews, as gamma handling is often different between the computer screen and the external monitor.

Also, using color in AE management? Color Finesse is not color managed, which could explain a difference of color.

Finally, you usually want to READ of primary CF set to 'None '.

I hope something here helps. Again, sorry I missed catch this thread earlier.

  • "An error occurred during the import of the source image"

I used the Tech Preview of Workstation 7.0 and tried to import a virtual appliance (OVF), but it failed in the middle.  Whenever I would try to run again, I would get the error "an error occurred when importing the source image" without even trying.  As soon as I clicked "Import or Export" I get this message.

Thinking something was just crazy with the Tech Preview, I went back to the Workstation 6.5.3 and tried.  I get exactly the same behavior - as soon as I click on import / export I get this error message.  I tried to uninstall and reinstall Workstation 6.5.3 several times and each time I still get the error.  I guess she feels that something is waiting somewhere, but I can't.  I deleted the keys to register HKCU and HKLM associated Workstation and reinstalled without success.  I also note that it keeps the virtual machines, that I created in my favorites after uninstall/reinstall, so I guess there is another location of this info I'm not delete.

Can someone point me in the right direction?  At this time I'm looking for a new installation of the Workstation 6.5.3.

While performing workstation 653 on Win7PE, I noticed the same behavior. Just by clicking on import/export will give the error. The papers say; "Win32 exception: unknown exception. He followed with procmon shows nothing interesting.

    Seems to be a bug.

  • How to change the location of the Fast Cache Preview in Color Finesse 3?

I'm on OS X El Capitan (version 10.11), under the new version of After Effects with Color Finesse 3.0.14. The speed of preview in full Color Finesse interface is very slow, so I tried to go in Caches under preferences and by changing the location of the fast preview Cache, but I can't get Color Finesse to use another location. Even if I click Select, and then choose a new folder and press on choose, the location for the Cache remains unchanged (/ users/Mayka/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems). I wanted to put the location of the cache in a folder on my external SSD, but I can't seem to do. Is this a bug or I do something wrong? I tried to restart AE, but it has no effect.

OK, I understand now. Change the location of the cache probably won't speed up the quick preview render phase, but could help in the reading stage, it should certainly be selectable (i.e., we need to fix this bug).

As the phase of rendering speed, Color Finesse must ask executives out of After Effects, so it will never faster than AE. There will also be an additional burden, because the frame is transferred from EI, which will slow down things a bit.

That said, we had a few reports that the 3.0.14 updated to Color Finesse slowed the speed of rendering a little (compared to most early versions of Color Finesse). This is probably due to a difficulty we have made to take account of the more aggressive power management in OS X 10.10 and later versions and Win 8.1 and later. We are currently looking into how we can adjust performance and still not run against the latest operating systems. I don't have a deadline for this that we're still investigating. But it's on our radar!

  • Video editing in the source Panel and drag it into the timeline result in a video of the cropped image.

I do a music video using Premiere CS6 and spin on this issue where, after cutting a video source in the Panel of the source using the brand/out tool and using the Insert command to put it in the timeline, the image I see in the program Committee is significantly cropped (I see that almost half of the video). The source file is a .mp4. Any advice?

The you cropping experienced, it was because your pre-defined sequence does not match your images. Your film is probably 1080 and your sequence was probably 720 or similar. Using Create Sequence clip, sequence settings match your clips and no cropping wil happen.

Please define path before each URLRequest. You must have at least 4 tracks in the code in methods:

    URLRequest

    loadFirstImage

    loadFirstImage

    loadThumbs

    myImages [e.target.name] .url

    e.Target points at thumbContainer

e.Target.Name is the name of the instance of the thumbContainer

  • The first CS4 AVCHD and Color Finesse 2 PL

    Hi all

    Windows 7 32 bit

    Premiere Pro Cs4

Has recently created a project using AVCHD with Premiere Cs4 video

I used Color finesse 2 PL plug to do some color correction

When I use the Color Finesse 2 PL with AVCHD video card, it works fine, but when I try to export my project, it obviously sends it to Media Encoder

then I select the preset HD, after finishing I can play the video, but without Color Finesse 2 PL effect fine

Does it mean that Color Finesse 2 PL do not have HD images?

    Thank you!

Make sure you have the most recent, 2.1.12, Color Finesse installed version. Some earlier versions had problems with running Media Encoder, specifically the plug-in is not applied.

First and SOUL are supposed to isolate plug-ins like Color Finesse of details of the used codecs, for as far as I know AVCHD is not a problem.

  • Problem in the edition of the 4K images...

Hi all, I have Edit 1 k sony FS7 feature regularly and I get no error or hang-ups while editing or rendering, now I want to try edit 4 K images. Here is my configuration

    AMD Fx 8350, 16 GB of DDR3 memory, HDD Seagate Barrcuda 7200, ASRock 970 extreme4, GTX 970 4 GB of DDR5 memory

all my changes are made through external hard drives, so please help me with the configurations are the settings on my PC

    Thanks in advance

the amd fx-8350 will retain your system with 4 k media, especially if its media strongly compressed avc/h264. You can try transcoding and/or using the new built in proxy system. dnxhr or cineform will be some codecs to try.

If you don't want to transcode/proxy, you can upgrade to a new 6 or 8 core intel cpu, the i7 - 6800 k or i7 - 6900 k. even the core intel 6 should be much faster than your current cpu with the adobe software. You can also wait for new zen amd cpu is being released, to see how their core 8 performs.

You may want some ssd for storage and use the HDD of 7200 RPM for backups. a 250 GB ssd for the OS/applications is usually ssd enough and another for your media. This will depend on your project to determine the speed drive the media and media. If you work with the media of the avc/h264, a single sata as the 850 samsung ssd should be fast enough. If you use external hard drive players and they aren't fast enough, a t1/t3 samsung or samsung 850 in an external enclosure usb should be enough for avc/h264.

the gtx 970 will be good enough to base k 4 edition, if you want that carried over to a new system.

Much too big to 1.2 MB and GIF is the bad format.for this image.

Return to the source image, and export it as a JPG (save for Web in Photoshop) of your favorite image editor.

You can make a Flash file seems as if it was the bottom of the page, without actually be coded like this

    for example http://www.aleosoft.com/flashtutorial_flashbackground.html

It was plugged on the web, but rare these days, esp on a corporate Web site.

  • I'm editing in the bright room of Adobe and when I change in the develop module, I get the image I want, but when I see in the library module in its final State, it changed and degraded. Why is this happening?

I'm editing in the bright room of Adobe and when I change in the develop module, I get the image I want, but when I see in the library module in its final State, it changed and degraded. Why is this happening?

The difference between the raw edition photo and editing a PSD is that the PSD has black points and white pinned to the visible pixel values, the raw photo has still "headroom" with values of pixel darker than black visible and brighter than white, so when you export the raw file , there may be details that have improved (or obscured if it was another type of image) of the perception and mapping of the Compensation of the black spot on the final color profile.

This means not PS is better or LR is lower, it is enough for you to go to a different type of image.  If you don't have PS to do final Assembly, you can probably do the same thing by exporting the raw in a 16 bit ProPhotoRGB TIF file, re-import this TIF and then set it LR, possibly using the tone curve to make the pitch black dark areas.

  • How to edit images of intelligent preview using external editors (PS, NIK and Topaz) with the source is disconnected?

Is it possible to use an external editor on a preview image smart when the source file is disconnected?  Advice welcome.  Thank you in advance, DW

In general, it is better to wait that the source of the photo file is back online to change via the external editor - for this reason, the options for external editing are disabled.

That said, if you can't wait too long (for example you are traveling and you want to download would be a Topaz or Nik copy on the web before returning home), then here's how you can change a smart preview outwardly, in such an "emergency":

    * Download and install MiscLrScripts (free, written by me).

    * Select the photos with smart thumbnails.

To call "import Smart Previews' script.

    * Change in... (as you would for any photo online).

Just be aware: be you editing a file dng with reduced loss of ground and changes will be NOT transportable to original photo when source file returns online.

  • How to save image Lightroom changes in the source file?

My experience with the trial version of lightroom is very positive regarding the powerful image editing features and associated metadata.  But I can't find a way to save changes 'develop' images in the source file for the photo, with that I work.  So far, I am able to save metadata in the file, but not the image editing.  Of what I read, I'm afraid that's not possible without ridicule roundabout exporting to new files then copy / move multiple copies around, etc.. Without this opportunity, I am sure that I will buy Lightroom and will miss out on all the powerful features.  Without an OPTION that turns on the equivalent of a button SAVE, manage my photo collection would be a nightmare.

So my question is: How do you save the change (i.e. developed) version of photo in the same file where the original photo has been stored?

Please, please spare me the answers telling me how stupid I am want to do this and that the cognisenti and professionals would NEVER do that.    But please tell me there is a secret place to enable this option in lightroom.

    Thanks in advance.

    Dad Ben,

LR stores everything you do in his catalog. The word "catalog" in LR - talk indicates not your images, but the database where LR all the stores. This database (catalogue) is a file with the ending < .lrcat=""> and you can see where he is going on > Edit > catalog settings > general tab.

This storage or registration in the catalogue is happening constantly and automatically and you don't have to press a button to .

Stored or saved in the catalog are your changes and everything related to the management of the image (including the location of your image files), captions, keywords, etc.

For this reason, it is very important that preserve you and protect your LR catalog as you preserve and protect your image files. This means that (a) you know the location of the catalog and (b) you should make backups regularly. Without the catalog that you would be always your image files but your changes and everything what you in LR would be lost.

LR does not write to the original image file. But there is the possibility to save the changes in an xmp file, which is a small file which is (normally) Moreover the image file. Do you this backup to the xmp file either in the library Module by going to > metadata > save metadata to file (or the shortcut Ctrl / Cmd + letter "S"), or in the Module development by going > Photo > metadata save file - or CTR. + S.

With DNG, it is a bit different; with Lr DNG writes the changes to the file header. But the procedure is the same.

Economy of XMP (or in the header of a DNG) is not necessary because LR records everything in his catalog - automatically. Economy of XMP (or in the header of DNG) has the effect that the changes you made in LR are now visible in any other Adobe program that can read the XMP files (or DNG files) - for example Adobe Bridge. But for LR, it is not necessary.

And there is a caveat: while LR records everything in the catalog, not all things that you do in LR are written in XMP e DNG. If only the LR catalog records everything you've done in LR.

To answer your question: you do not have to save the modified version of a photo in the original file. LR saves your changes in the catalog automatically and displays your changes because he reads the original image file and then apply the changes to the display.

    WW
