Function of brightness with Satellite A110

Hello

I aASatellite A110 with windows xp family, but now I have formatted and put windows xp pro.
Everything works ok but bright fn keys do not work on f6 and f7.
Before formatting it, I noticed that when I change brightness, a Sun on the screen appears which tells me the brightness level.

What is a driver or software that?
Can I change light on the screen of the bios and power saver

What is the problem?

Hello

Yes, there is a program that controls the behavior of brightness of the LCD screen. If you don t have it then download it here:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU&mode=allMachi nes

Then, download all the other stuff that is important for your machine, if Don t you already.

Welcome them

  • Problem with Satellite A110

    Hello!

I've owned a Toshiba Satellite A110-275 since about 2 years ago, and this problem started happening about 1 year ago (I want to do it now).
Well, the problem is that when the computer is turned on, the screen freezes for about a second or two to the loading screen then the blue screen of death Windows appears. It is said that a problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer. It also says something like STOP: 0 x 842894749 0x923487yr9 etc I don't remember exactly what he read, but something like that.

It never connects, and I can't go on safe mode. I tried to reinstall windows that excited to logging on point (where you select a user, and then click its icon and wait that it connect to this account). When I clicked on a user, I waited a moment, although it didn't look like loading anything, maybe it was frozen, I turned my back for a minute or two then looked back to find the blue screen of death.

It is still under warranty, but I wanted to try and fix this myself as I need the laptop in a few days! Please, can someone help me with this?
    Thank you!

Have you upgraded your laptop Satellite a year ago? RAM or HARD drive?

  • Some problems with Satellite A110

My husband's computer gave a lot of trouble for months and months now. After doing almost everything I can think of, I am at a loss. I would appreciate guidance on this issue. Thank you very much!

Toshiba Satellite A110, Win XP, with memory upgrade (Crucial 1Gig + 1Gig set)

Computer is very slow and crashing on a regular basis. I felt that the anti-virus, firewall, etc. in addition to running several programs was too expensive for the limited memory, so I used finder Crucial memory and ordered two mem 1 G cards.

Installed according to the instructions, mem cards (not my first time - I felt comfortable doing).

Has continued to have problems. Clean computer. Still having problems.

Husband hired an expert in "computer" who knew no more that I did it. He (as I predicted) said: "you must have a virus" and reformat the hard disk.

    Still have the same problems.

I don't know how to proceed with the troubleshooting. The symptoms are:

    * very slow performance
    * ' blue screen of death' on a regular basis with various error messages (I've given up trying to save all the)
    * programs crashing without warning (especially common with IE and Outlook. Switch to Firefox but still have the problem. Husband refuses to change the e-mail program)

I would be happy to provide you with any information you may need to help me.

    Hi Jenny

You are really the Jamaica? Wonderful island!

    Back to deliver you.
Well, the BSOD appears due to the serious software fault or due to a malfunction of the equipment.
My first thought was a failure of RAM that you have already assumed.

I'm sure that it s not a virus. In my opinion the Virus does not cause a BSOD.
I think that the laptop doesn t stable performance due to the overheating problem

Overheating is possible if fans don't run correctly and don t cool internal devices properly! Sometimes the dust and debris inside the laptop to prevent the fans spinning.
I really recommend if the laptop can be cooled properly and if there is a flow of fresh air!
Make sure that the fans are free and that there is enough free space around the laptop.

The old wifi card swich works OK - orange light is on. On the new map light is off and swich does not work.

    Help, please

    Hello

Do you have also enabled the WLAN functionality by pressing FN + F8?
    Check it!

In addition, I think the case is clear: the new wireless LAN card isn't compatible with Satellite A110.
So in my opinion, you must use remove the new card Intel and install the old card that works fine in your laptop.

    Satellite A110-275
Can I use the file system fat32 instead of ntfs disk recovery system.

    Hello

Well, on the Toshiba Recovery CD you will find only the ghosts.
This ghost files contains image with all the files and data from HARD drive.
I guess that the image was made on NTFS.

I think it s not able to change the file system on the HARD disk without formatting or losing data on this HARD drive.
If you want to change the FAT32 file system, you must format the HDD to FAT32.

But I put t know why you want to do. It makes no sense to me.
In my opinion, the NTFS system is more powerful than FAT32

    Hello

I think the keyboard could be compatible, but I doubt the battery designed for Sat A110 would be compatible with the model A100.

As far as I know the Satellite A100 supports the 9 cell, 6000mAh

This problem did not exist before, but suddenly occurred and now is it each time.
Ah, it is also important if the power adapter is NOT connected (i.e. portable runs only on battery), the problem does not occur. If the laptop works on current alternative, the problem occurs, regardless of whether or not the battery is in Notepad.

    Hi zaez,

I doubt that the problem is caused by the OS because it doesn t affect the system when it turn off so there must be another reason of this problem...

  • Bass is not good enough on my Satellite A110-293

I have a Toshiba Satellite A110 - 293 Notebook. There is a problem with the audio for laptop, the sound seems to lack Bass. When I play a music file, the bass is abnormal, there is no bass or bass is not clear. The laptop fitted with a Realtek HD Audio device and there the SRS technology, and it suppose to have a rich acoustic bass, bass suppose to be richer as a normal bass sound produced from a normal PC without SRS technology, but even there is no normal low in my book.

I adjusted the levels in virtual audio software Toshiba (SRS), I tried all the different configurations and I've adjusted at all levels, but still have the same problem, and even when I turn off Toshiba virtual sound software and I have the same problem. I tried media with their value default or modified diffusers graphic equalizer, but it has not solved the problem.

I use the PC Works 2.1 Creative speakers and even with the adjusted maximum bass, there is no low clear, there is nothing wrong with the speakers because I've tested on another PC and they work no doubt, I also tried different types of speakers on the laptop but the problem still exists.

The laptop is equipped with Windows XP Home Edition, I reinstalled Windows using the recovery media, but still the same. I downloaded the audio driver for my laptop from Toshiba Web site and updated audio driver. I downloaded an updated version (R 1.64) of the official website of Realtek Realtek HD audio driver (the driver that comes with the laptop version is R1.36) and I've updated the audio driver on the laptop, but there is no change, and the Toshiba Virtual Sound not works with update audio driver.

I installed a new copy of Windows XP by using a Windows XP installation CD (not the same copy that comes with Notepad). I used the latest version of the sound driver that I downloaded from the site Web of Realtek (R1.64), the sound was functioning normally and that the bass is normal and obvious. But when I updated audio driver with the driver supplied with the laptop, the problem of bass is back.

I installed a new copy of Windows Vista, this Version of Windows can identify the audio device Realtek HD automatically, the sound worked well and there was no problem with the bass, when I have updated audio driver in Windows Vista with the form driver Toshiba site Web (V6.0.1.5334SRS), he continues to work properly without any problem on bass , and the sound quality was fine. So basically, when I install another copy of Windows and you are using a different version of the audio driver, the problem is solved.

It seems that the problem is with the original for laptop audio driver, (it is not a hardware problem) and the problem is that once the driver is installed on the laptop, the problem peut t be resolved then, because I tried to install a different audio driver, but the problem of bass will be not resolved, even when I tried to manually delete everything about driver original audio. I hope you can solve this problem for me because I want to use the Windows XP of origin provided with the laptop and I don't want to use a different copy or version of Windows.

    You presentation is very interesting.
I guess what he s hope a driver sound question let s that Toshiba will release a new audio driver update. This should help

  • Satellite A110 - BIOS for Win7 and FN key features

    Hello
I installed the new Windows 7 on my computer laptop toshiba a110 and surprisingly almost every device was dected and installed by win7. There is problem with PCMCIA driver for Vista solved the problem. But I always have problems with the function keys and of the extra buttons. Do you know which driver should I install to operate the keys Fn?
Either way, I would ask if toshiba will be dedicated for toshiba satellite A110 Windows 7 drivers?

I have another problem with the BIOS.
I have seen that there is new bios update available for my laptop but I don't know which version should I use for WINDOWS 7?
    01/21/09
    Update the BIOS
Toshiba Windows Vista 32 bit 5, 40 - WIN World Wide
    01/21/09
    Update the BIOS
Toshiba OS independent 2, 00 - WIN World Wide

I thought that if I have win7 OS independent bios update should be fine for me, but in this version, there is a warning, that 2, 00 - bios WIN is not dedicated for users of Vista. I've heard that Windows 7 is based on Vista OS so I don't completely now which version should I choose.

    Waiting for help
    Simon

I assume that your Satellite A110 will not be supported for Win7. This means that you probably won't be able to find any driver, tool or utility designed for Win7.
In my opinion, you should be happy that Win7 works and you have no serious problems with the physical property of work. Then you probably need to have lived without some specific features of Toshiba FN options, but most of them, you can use in different contexts.

On the BIOS I say not a lot but, as far as I know, Toshiba will offer no special Win7 BIOS update for old models of laptops and if everything works well, you have to update BIOS at all.
In any case for me, it makes sense to use the latest version of the BIOS that is designed for Vista OS.

  • Cannot start my Satellite A110-275

I had one laptop Satellite A110-275. After the first days, when I bought someone spilled a glass of water. I send the laptop on a center here in Canada they have change the motherboard. Laptop worked for several months and a few weeks ago are starting to make me a problem such as:

In the past after a few opening and closing laptop computer started but now its saying DEAD leds.

Could someone help me with some ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

    Processor A110 - 275 Intel Core Duo T2400 satellite clocked at 1.83 GHz 2 GB of 533 MHz DDR2
    Thank you

    Hello Marina

Please don't get me wrong, but I don't think there is that you can only do about it.
Of course, there is a serious hardware problem, probably with the motherboard. I don't know which component is troublemaker, but if your computer laptop doesn't react at all, it can be electronic power supply.

It may be the CPU. It may be the motherboard, but you must understand that it is not possible to provide an accurate diagnosis on this path. What you need is a professional help. Laptop must be controlled by diagnostic tools and it can be done in only authorized service. Contact them and explain the situation.

  • Satellite A110-195 lan crashes

    Hello

My satellite a110-195 crashes when I send files to another computer on the local network. There is nothing wrowng with another computer on the local network
because I have also tested it with an a100-906 and works very well.
I have hard drive formatted and reinstalled windows xp but the problem is still there.

I use the latest version of the bios. Is a very strange problem.
LAN works fine with my internet connection and the system crashes only when I transfer large files.
    About 800 MB of files.

    I think it's a software oriented.
    Looking forward to a response.

Edit: a little more information. Laptop goes down ONLY when I send files and ONLY when I use the battery. I ordered a USB to lan card, to see what is happening. But it's a shame a laptop from a week to have such problems.
    Thank you

    Hello

This will only occur if the laptop is running with the power of the battery?
HA I think I have an idea and a solution! ;)

To me, it seems that the computer is on the LAN card feature to save power!

You should just go to the Device Manager and select the properties of LAN card under network adapters!
Here, you select the last tab called power management. Please disable the option called allow the computer to turn off this device to save power!

Additional on the Advanced tab (I think that it s a second tab) you can activate the optimal performance of the option and disable the link down to save energy.

    Hope this helps dude :)

  • Is it possible to update the BIOS for the Satellite A110 (PSAB0) and Windows7?

    Hi all

I recently installed Windows 7 on Toshiba Satellite A110 (PSAB0).
The version of the system BIOS is v1.30
I want to Flash the BIOS for you last version v2.0.
This version is released in January 2009, before the introduction of Windows 7.

There are two versions of the BIOS download, one "for Vista only' and one 'OS independent.
I think I have to go to the operating system independent.
    Link: [update BIOS | http://www.toshiba.nl/innovation/download_driver_details.jsp?service=EN&selCategory = 8 & selFamily = 192 & selSeries = 236 & selProduct = 661 & STAS hortMod = 478 & language = 1 = 12 & selOS & selType = 4 & yearupload = & monthupload = & dayupload = & we eDate = null & mode = allMachines & search = & action = search & macId = & country = 24 & selectedLanguage = 12 & type = 4 & page = 1 & ID = 66230 & DISO =-1 & driverLanguage = 42]

Independent of the OS has warning: + "this Bios is NOT compatible for notebook computers equipped with Windows Vista!" + "

So here's my question: this BIOS version is compatible with Windows 7?

    Thank you very much!!

    AJ.

    Hello

I think that this BIOS (v2.0) is not released for Windows 7 and that it has also not been tested with Windows 7. This BIOS has published 21.01.2009 and Windows 7 was released on July 22, 2009. However, on the other hand it s not mentioned that this BIOS is not compatible with Win 7.

But the fact is that only Windows 7 doesn't is NOT supported on this laptop.

Windows 7 drivers are not out on Sat A110, but this does not mean that you couldn't install Win 7 on this device. Of course, you can install the Win 7 system, but Toshiba does not provide any Win 7 software for this series.

    Back to BIOS update:
In your case I would try not to update the BIOS if the laptop works properly.
Why? Because the update of the BIOS is still a technique sensitive and you could damage it the motherboard if something goes wrong during the update of the BIOS.
