G7-1368dx Pavilion: Pavilion G7-1368dx does not recognize my ssd.

I have problems to an ssd added to my computer.

I tried two more different: 530) 1 Intel series-256 GB and 2) Crucial Mx100 - 512 GB.

The Crucial drive is the one recommended by the tool of their compatibility.

I tried calling HP support but everything what they told me was that my computer does not support an ssd and I think they're wrong, as I read messages like this http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware/Does-HP-G7-1368DX-support-SATA-III/td-p/2798639http: /...  where Sergiy already has one installed and works.

I tried several different softwares, tried tried cloning backup all seem to succeed but the when the drive is installed and I try to start I do not found disk errors.

I also tried to use HP restore disks that I created with the HP recovery tool, they are unable to find the drive either. Even an iso of Win7 directly downloaded Microsoft can't find it.

Thanks in advance.

This is to help nothing else out there if they have a similar problem with ssd is not seen on the hdd0 port, but that a regular hdd works fine.

Get a motherboard replacement for SATA cable. For some reason, one that came with my computer would see a normal hard drive, but not just any what SDS (I tried 4 different brands, so it wasn't a thing of brand).

My cd/dvd RW drive + will recognize and play CDs of music in Windows Media Player, it will recognize the DVD as if a cd of music but will not play and has the error message that there is not enough memory. In HP Media Smart DVD it opens and turns and then said: "no disc inserted in the drive."   Troubleshooting all said that the drive works very well. Y at - it a fix for this problem? How would I know if it's a damaged optical disc?

    Hi bcwain,

I've done some additional research not enough memory error you receive and found something for you to try. Try the best answer to this Yahoo Answers link.

If this does not work try using VLC Player, it is a free media player and open source. I use it on my XP machine at home that some videos have had a problem with playing on Windows Media Player. You can download it here.

  • Desktop HP Pavilion a420n of does not recognize SATA hard drive

    Hello

I installed a SATA hard drive as a second hard drive in my office in a420n Paviion and it is not recognized by the computer. I don't belong in the BIOS to enable the SATA drives, only IDE drives. (The main hard drive is IDE). I just upgraded to firmware BIOS Revision 3.08 (11/2004, which is the last on the HP website) and there is still no place to enable SATA only drives in the BIOS screen.

Of course, the drive may not be detected in Windows XP either.

I saw an ad on the web about SATA drives that need drivers to work with the a420n, but I don't know if it's true. A man speaks by pressing the F6 key while rebooting, so you can load the driver at the time, but by pressing F6 does nothing to interrupt the normal boot on my machine process.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you

    Bob

p.s. I've tried 2 different, an older SATA drives and a brand new - same result

If the BIOS does not info on the drive connected, then nothing else does.  It could be that this controller simply does not work.  On a Board that old, is probably not an effort worth trying a material difficulty.

Using an external enclosure for the drive, it is probably the best bet.

  • y510p does not recognize the SSD to the first boot.

I have a new y510p that I received this week. First thing I did was to replace the HD 1 TB with my own OCZ Vertex 4 256 GB SSD Drive.

When I turn on the laptop for the first time, it does not find a bootable device (through network devices, then says no bootable device). If I use ctrl + alt + delete to restart the laptop, it detects the drive on its own and begins booting in Windows.

I would like to understand why this does not work the first time? I went into the BIOS and I saw that it says that there is no hard drive detected.

This worries me a bit, like maybe one day, he decided to no longer recognize the drive after the ctrl-alt-del?

Everybody that experience and have a work around?

    Thank you!

    Hey Z,.

I appreciate your response! That's actually what I thought as well. What is strange, this is even after the firmware update, it seems, the question was always present, but I just had my laptop for a while and it booted up and it starts right in Windows.

I was thinking about it. On the first boot after the update of the firmware probably had some time to "finalize" the update of the firmware, firmware update require a power cycle.

Maybe the firmware update solve the problem after all, and it only took an another start after the initial report so that it can work properly

I guess my advice to anyone having the same problem with a disc OCZ Vertex 4 is to spend at least 1.5 firmware (which is what I am now, and it's working properly). Beware that OCZ 1.3-> 1.4 and 1.4-> 1.5 will destroy the data on the disk, so if that's your primary drive, back up everything.

    I'm glad it works now!

  • My laptop Dell XPS 17 (L702x) does not recognize an SSD pro Samsung 840

    Hello

I buy all my first SSD for my laptop Dell XPS 17 (L702x) (8T7CQS1). I managed to install the Samsung 840 pro (MZ-7PD256BW) at the HARD School of XPS drive, but the BIOS does not detect as a second HARD drive.

My BIOS version is the most recent: A19 (26/10/2012), I tried to load the BIOS default settings, but no change.

The SATA in the BIOS mode is AHCI.

What could I do with them?

Thanks, if you can help me,

    Kris

    Hi Kris,

Traction test drive 1 and put the SSD in this slot. Then boot in the BIOS to see if the drive is detected.

My system has 1 2 TB HDs.  I'm trying to remove the two HD & install a new ssd from Crucial mx200 500 GB as my main drive.  They use Acronis cloning software to clone the old drive.  I tried to install the SSD on disc 2, but Acronis don't see cloning.

Your right.  The problem was with the Acronis software.  I created a cover of Acronis True Image bootable dvd.  I booted from the dvd and load of the application of clone of Acronis.  It allowed me to select readers clone and the target.  Since he was able to create the partitions and files on the ssd.  Everything starts now to the ssd.

  • Satellite M50-A-110 does not recognize the new SSD?

    Hello

I bought the M50-A-110 model and tried to replace the HARD drive by a Pro 840 Samsung SSD. The laptop does not recognize the SSD drive, so I sent him to the local Toshiba service for inspection.

They discovered that the laptop does not recognize ALL of the latest SSD (they tried to Samsun, Intel, Crucial, Kingston and SSD Seagate). They checked, and I possible newer BIOS, so this isn't a problem, and the SSD worked fine on other computers.

Someone knows how to solve this mess?
Toshiba has a BIOS beta I could try?
Any other ideas would be welcome.

As a user of long date Toshiba, I must say that I am a little disappointed. I mean I work in it, and this is the first time that something like this happened to me with a new product.

    Hello

I can't believe that Satellite M50 - A can not handle any of the mentioned SSDS.

I upgraded my Toshiba laptop with SSD Pro 840. But before I did, the update of the firmware of SSD was necessary. Before the firmware update, the SSD has failed, after the firmware update, BIOS can handle the SSD.

I would recommend to check the SSD for the firmware update!

  • Aspire One d255 does not recognize the usb connected external ssd drive

I want to replace the original HDD 160 GB with a 120 GB Samsung ssd 750 evo but bios and win 10 does not recognize the ssd drive as an external drive connected via a usb connection, so I couldn't create an image of my internal hard drive.  Is there a way to clone my hard drive SSD, so I can exchange the disc later?  I need to update the bios, install a missing driver, etc. ?

I used two different connections: one is a 2.5 "SATA case disc that I used with a disk 2.5" HARD and works very well with the HARD drive and the other is SATA/IDE connector combination with cables for SATA and power and none of these works.  I read in another forum during my research that the Aspire One d255 doesn't recognize any external SSD connected through a USB either.  Since my netbook has no data, and I had just a pure 10 Windows installed on his drive HARD internal, I removed the 160 GB HARD drive and replaced by a 120 GB SSD and installed another Windows own 10.  It worked and my system boots now in less than 20 seconds.   We can close this thread now since I now have a faster machine fully function.  Thank you!

  • Install Windows 8 does not recognize the system drive

I built a new machine (chart below). Since this is a new machine and not an upgrade, I bought Win 8 Pro 64 bit OEM to do a clean install. The SSD is my system disk that Windows 8 will be installed. Four data drives are mirrored, two for the other two. Construction went perfectly. The BIOS recognizes all six disks: 1 SSD, 4 HDD, 1 DVD.

Insert and boot the disk of Windows 8. Accept the EULA, enter the product key. Arriving at the page "Where do you want to install Windows?", only four hard disks are listed. The SSD (installation to go) is not found by Win 8. ??? I tried to change ports SATA, cables, power supply - no difference. For each new change of hardware, the BIOS still sees everything. This isn't a hardware problem.

The question remains: why the installation of Windows 8 does not recognize the SSD drive. All five disks are on AHCI. I'm not in RAID.

I spoke with crucial technical support of all (manufacturer of the SSD). They were also surprised that the drive does not appear in the list.

Does anyone have a solution? I spent all the money on hardware, as well as the new version of Windows and I cannot install it.

This is the real kick in the teeth: Microsoft won't support me. The OEM of Windows 8 version is the same as manufacturers, such as Dell or HP. Support told me I had the support of the manufacturer. HA! I am the manufacturer. Either that or upgrade from an earlier version of Windows. This means that any that a new construction machine will get ZERO assumption of Microsoft. All just great.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Windows 8 Pro 64-bit (full version) - OEM
    Intel Core i5 - 3570K
    Card mother GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H

Rosewill Challenger-U3 ATX Mid Tower Case
    SeaSonic M12II 620W 620 Bronze PSU
    ASUS DVD writer

The DSS must be LOW LEVEL FORMATE.

Once, there may be no other [HDDs] not connected to the SATA ports.

    Install Windows 8 Pro now.

[Edit] Can someone please mark this as answered? I can't because I posted the question. Thank you.

  • iTunes does not recognize my iPhone on my HP Pavilion Windows 10 5s, so cannot sync the phone, which has the latest operating system running

iTunes does not recognize my iPhone on my HP Pavilion Windows 10 5s, so cannot sync the phone running. I downloaded the latest OS for the phone and the latest version of iTunes on my PC and have tried all USB ports several times. I also reinstalled drivers USB to the PC.  The phone is recognized on the computer of a friend under Win 7. All shows when I plug it on mine is a page showing the 'Apple iPhone' folder display of storage internal (2.18 GB free of 14.7 GB). Troubleshooting in devices and printers, where the phone displays as "Not specified Apple iPhone" generates a message saying that "Apple iPhone is an older USB device and may not work with USB 3.0 and plug it into a USB 2.0 port." But when I use USB 2.0 (I tried several times using each of the three USB ports on my PC), troubleshooting the error message says "Apple iPhone won't work correctly with USB 3.0." This seems to be a recent problem, since in March 2016, I could spend a few songs from my PC to my phone using iTunes.

I wish I had some ideas of people who have experienced this problem, I find to be a more frustrating one.

Well, you aren't the only one. This just freakin happened to me. I spent the last three hours with apple and Windows supports. Now I'm reinstalling Windows 10 by last resort of Windows support councils. I got the same message USB. In iTunes, under devices something removed my 5s and the iPad. But it remains 6 s wife. I tried my computers 2-(SS) 3.0 ports and 1 port 2.0 ordinary. I tried all four thinners cables I have. I will let you know the result of the Windows reinstall.

  • HP Pavilion dv7t-3000 does not start

My HP Pavilion dv7t-3000 does not start. I checked this article: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01732674

According to who, the error condition is: 'non-functional CPU.

So if I buy a new processor and disassemble the laptop and replace the processor, it will fix the problem?

Perhaps, but it is much more likely to be the motherboard. If the motherboard is bad, you can't trust the blink codes that it generates. Failures of the CPU but rarely occur. Motherboard failure happens all the time.
